Xorrn

Newton's ship the The Nobel would be booming through the skies of Xorrrn and soon it would touch down on the desert surface, quite a few ways from an abandoned factory complex. Newton came with his good friend Lyra, it wasn't that long since she showed him the wonders of Hypergate Technology first hand and made a great deal with her.

Now they are here for a different reason, there is an abandoned factory that made droids on his factory world. If the rumors are true, here is some sort of dataplague that has corrupted this factory and it's droids. Those droids exterminated all the organics there so this region has been put under a travel advisory since this world is so remote and the local government doesn't have the means to deal with this. But apparently this dataplague and spread droid to droid and is very hostile to organics. They were here to get a sample of that dataplague.

For safety, the AI core on the Nobel is shut down. There is no way he will allow the possibility that the ship itself gets infected as well. Newton also declined to bring his droids with him as well, there is no way Newton will let his best friend and companion for life be corrupted either. Newton brought an Ion Rifle with him, and got one for Lyra as well. The droid specialist was also wearing some earth toned clothing fit for a little abandoned factory raid instead of a suit. He has a blast vest on for protection as well.

"You ready for this?" Newton would then ask Lyra. "Would like to bring a disabled droid with us and if possible, data from the factory's main frame." Newton does want to get his hands on this dataplague and any other infomation that maybe of value. So that he can study it. Newton brought some spare powerpacks for his weapons, he's ready. The ship would then make planetfall, kicking up dust around, the exit ramp would then lower.

Tiamat exited the ship with Newton, her armor refitted to avoid any affiliation with the Sith Order while she was with Blackwell and their associates. She was first approached on this assignment through Vizim after an odd encounter with nanobots, plagues and computers. Though it sounded like a nightmare to the marauder, Tiamat was absolutely fascinated when she was notified there was further interest in such technology. She had visited Newton on the topic and quickly learning he had been involved, they were on their way to the factory to retrieve the remnants of what still remained.

Heeding his warning before they left, Tiamat left behind her droid and Newton disabled his own while they remained on the ship. She doubled checked her ion rifle, ensuring it was properly working and readied herself when the ship had landed. As the ramp lowered, he asked if she were ready and the red haired woman inhaled deeply, more so uncertain of what they were going to find and the possible danger that could await. If the worse came, she would not hold back in using the Force in front him, but hopefully, they could get by without too much trouble.

"Ready, lets make this quick." she said, "This place is a bit creepy feeling." she could feel the absence of energy in the air, as though the area had been ionized for so long and suddenly it was not, creating an electrical imbalance. Off the ramp she would step, keeping with Newton as he lead the way.

When she said this place is a bit creepy feeling, Newton had to agree "Yeah..." he grimaced. Once the ramp was openned, the factory would be in sight, and it looked awful. Broken windows, cracked and damage walls. The front door was busted open. "Something just have wanted out badly... or they wanted to go in". With that, he would then level his weapon. He didn't feel at ease going inside. Newton wanted to get in and out as soon as possible as well. He almost didn't want to go in, but what he needs is in there.

With no other choice other than to turn back and go in, Newton would then go into the threshold, stepping through the smashed through door. He was sure to be on alert and had his weapon ready, he would then walk through a corridor that goes in deeper. There were still lights on in the place despite the damage and signs of age inside, occasionally there would be sparks flying out of a junction.

So far so good.

Until at a certain point, the lights started flickering. Until they would shut off, leaving barely any light where the two would be at. Suddenly after the lights went out, there would be mechanical sounds, as if it was a machine moving loudly, coming from all around. Newton would then grab a flashlight out of his pocket and then light it up, looking at what the source of that noise was from "Huh..." he didn't see anything "You see anything?" he asked Lyra. Newton was was on edge, not wanting anything to get the drop on him. Maybe this was a bad idea, the first go around with factories full of droid that want to kill everyone wasn't that fun the first time, but maybe it wasn't so wise to go into a second one.

The positives of droids was that they were fairly predictable, only able to follow what they were programed to do, and with the droids and computer systems that were deteriorating here, it was easy to guess their function. The downside of course, they were not organic and made it entirely more difficult to feel when they were going to make their next move. Force sensitive or not, Newton could feel there was something off about the place. Tia followed him through the broken door into the building, her senses to feel anything that would keep her alert in any possible danger.

There was still some power that ran through the building, the emergency lights were still on, but dim and Tia still kept her weapon ready. She followed behind Newton, keeping his back covered as he kept their front cover. Tia was careful in her steps, trying not to make any noises but froze when the lights started to flicker. She stood unmoving as they completely went out, and unlike Newton, she used the Force to see through her surroundings. A stir in her senses told her they were no longer safe and the lights suddenly flickered back on, but were much less, barely giving them any leverage in their vision.

"I'm not seeing anything..." she whispered, "But my gut is saying we are certainly not alone in here." she added, slowly moving her gaze around to catch anything unusual.

"Lets keep moving forward, they may just be watching us, but we should be ready for an attack." she suggested quietly.

And indeed, they were watching. As they gotten further, it would soon be apparent that there would be cameras moving around, watching them even as the lights were flickering. Lyra mentioned about being ready for an attack, and Newton raised his ion-rifle high as he would slow down.

Remembering what the Sith did at Vontor where the armory intelligence was watching the group progress with cameras, he would aim to do the same thing. Newton would lower his rifle and then with his left hand get out his blaster pistol. Newton had good aim, he would fire a shot at each of the cameras he saw, in which he saw two of them. Whoever is watching already knows they are here by now, whatever entity that made a mess of the place would probably be hostile on sight anyways, but destroying those cameras will blind them for a bit. "That ought to help" he remarked.

Newton would look towards Lyra and then gesture with his head to follow him, they don't have much choice to move forward other than proceed. Eventually exiting the corridor, they would come into a large open area that had tons of droids lying around as if they were broken, disabled, or destroyed. There were some organics that were dead too, they were wearing worker attirer and they were killed in various literal bloody ways. Newton raised an eyebrow as he took in the sight "Wow". "Those look like security droids" recognizing some fallen K4-series droids

Then even the emergency lights would then shut off. Now just several bright red lights on the ground would be lit up. As Newton would get a flash light to see what's in front of them, he would take in four of those security droids would then suddenly start rising up, as if they were zombies. "Ex.... Exterminate" "Exterminate" "For... for Agorander, who... whose the stars will obey" they alternated between speaking. One of them was missing it's arms, a different onehad a non-functional leg. The third was just crawling on the ground, inching towards the organics The last of the risen droids had a big gaping whole punched in it, yet they were going after the organic newcomers but was otherwise moving fine as if it was just fine.

Newton slowed his pace and Tiamat followed the same, keeping her eyes open and her senses on alert for any danger that may creep up on them. Cautiously, she stepped over the debris the further they went in and paused when Newton started to fire, she opened her mouth to say something but stopped, realizing what he was doing. A small grin pulled at her lip as she glanced around, seeing the disabled holocams. The redhaired woman nodded in agreement as they exited into another corridor where there were droid parts everywhere, and in between was the bloated and grotesque remains of organic factory workers that completed this graveyard.

What made it worse were the lights now completely shutting off, and the red emergency lights switched on, leading Tiamat to groan in annoyance as to what could be happening next. Newton used an illuminator to shine it around, but it would be quite apparent as mechanical voices begun to sound alarm, "Agorander??" she glanced at Newton before aiming her rifle, blasting the droid that was crawling rather quickly to them. Somehow Tia found this worse than zombie organics, how was it these droids still could power their way to them.

'Agorander' Newton heard, he didn't think about it. His attention and focus was purely what was going on before his very eyes. This looks like the scene of a horror-holoflick or something. The lights, the droids that are missing limbs crawling or ,marching to exterminate them He would back away as he would aim his ion rifle at one of the droids that are standing and then fire a blast of his own as well.from his own ion-rifle. The one Lyra shot would be cease to function, continuing to shout for extermination of organics, receeding from loud to quiet as the unit would be disabled. That fast-crawling droid might be in his nightmares for a good few days.

The one Newton shot would hit it's marked, and it would get wrecked after a shot to the chest, then it would get on it's knees and then collapse as it too would be disabled.

Newton had to admit, this was pretty messed up. It's one thing to reprogram a droid to go beserk, but it's another for droids to suddenly have an apatite for cleansing organics, and them shambling as they do so. It really has to be the work of the data plague. And it's becoming more clear, the dataplague somehow got in here and it wrecked this whole facility.

Following his last shot, he would quickly glance around at his surroundings The remaing droids up were still after the organic intruders, they didn't react to the fallen droids they still had cold-effiecent murder in their eyes. WIth some distance gained, Newton would fire one more ion rifle shot at a second droid. Newton is a practiced shot, he's been in situations before and by now he's a well trained gunman. The would connect to the chest of the droid. The droid would drop same as the last one, with a drying cry "Must... Purge.... for Agroander... Who the stars... obeyyyyyyeeyy--" before the sound of more durasteel crumpes on the floor. There would be only one more retaining in this immediate area. going for Lyra.

This dataplague seems to instil some slavish loyalty to this Agorander person, to a very extreme degree... Newton thinks he wants to get out sooner rather than later now. Newton would look towards Lyra, weapon readied, seeing if she needed any help or she can take care of her self. She's very good about it but still.

Newton didn't waste time trying to figure out what the droid meant. There was also the likely possibility that he knew the droid's intentions and regardless what it said, it was irrelevant. The droid that she had shot first with the ion burst went down immediately, the circuits shorting as it crumbled back down. But in its programming it would continue to its final command, it was the nature of droids, not wrong, nor right, they do as they are programmed. Quickly Newton took down the droids and Tiamat fired at the last one, it stuttered, paused, went to continue until she shot it again, bringing the droid down.

"Ok..." she was more surprised by this than she had intended, she had never seen droids act in this manner. Even in history of minor AIs, this was entirely different, and far different from an assassin programing.

"Do we need to go any further or can we grab one of these?" she asked him, seemingly more nervous than prior to coming inside the factory.

"Yeah, lets get one of them" Newton would stow away his ion rifle as he would then grab one of the downed chassis. It's hitting him that these units in particular are decently heavy. "Well... these things are heavy..." he sniveled as he was struggling with the dead weight of one droid. Newton isn't the most physically strongest person ever. Anyways, it's probably best to get one of the droids now and then then get off world. The ion blasts won't keep this disabled forever after all, then they will go right back to killing machines.

It's all fine, they only need at least one of the droids with the virus on it. From there Newton would be able to get the virus off of it in a safe manner, study it, and perhaps do more with it.

It would take a good amount of time before the droid is stowed away on the ship. Once it's on the ship, it would need to have restraining bolt on it, just in case it does come-online again midflight.

Well, a job well done for Newton and Lyra. From this, it will benefit Newton's research greatly. Who knows what will come of it...
