NOTICE: This is just a thread for me to wrap up a few character arcs/plots I've done for this timeline. I don't think I'll be able to finish the Temple plot before next timeline but I wanted to give some closure, if only for my own sake. You can post if you want to have your character say goodbye to Dune but it's not necessary.

It was over and that was fine. Dune Tarn stood at the edge of the broken bridge and kicked a pebble over it. Despite what had happened here and the pain it had brought the Jedi, Dune couldn't help but give a small smile. Shryke would probably be pleased at what Dune had planned to do with the place, even if it wasn't his original plan.

Long ago, Shryke had come to Teth with a team and a mission. The mission was to help the Order found a small temple here on Teth. Sadly, Dune's old friend had let his eagerness to fight and the sting of defeat get to him and he had been slain on Nar Shaddaa, having foolishly charged into the heart of the Cartel's seat of power to save some thug.

The whole quest seemed destined to fail. Teth was a hard to reach world with an inhospitable environment and a haven for criminals everywhere. Relations between the Jedi and the former residents of this monastery were tense since Shryke had helped defend the temple against attack but failed and had allowed it to be looted. The Jedi had tried to establish a security force for their fledgling Temple by reaching out to Industrial Automaton but their very presence had caused one of IA's agents to be shot. IA gave them a few prototype droids that they had been going to scrap anyways as compensation for the Jedi's troubles but no further help could be expected from them. Dune could hardly blame them - who would want the kind of troubles that associating with Jedi would bring.

Some success had been reached when Dune had helped bring Master Agnos Raneeta back into the Order, with the goal of instating him as the head of this Temple. However, Raneeta was too valuable an asset to sit at home at the Temple and Dune had realized that the person best suited to be at this Temple was himself. Having taken all of the books on botany and the Force that he'd saved during the Battle of the Library, Dune had lugged them all here with the help of his droid companions. Truthfully, IA had developed nothing more than a knockoff of the GP Series Protocol droids (which might have explained why they ultimately scrapped the project). However, they seemed most adept at carrying books, which was all Dune could really hope for.

No, this abandoned monastery would never be the Temple that the Order originally envisioned. But it would be a home for Dune. He was getting old and was getting tired of fighting. He would live out the remainder of his days here, keeping the books, and cultivating plant seeds that he'd brought to this planet. He would no longer be a keeper of the peace or a warrior fighting the Dark Side but, rather, a quiet, humble tender of the earth. As the droids got to work unloading, Dune sat on the edge of the bridge that had been broken in the battle between Shryke and the Exiles and sighed, trying to lose himself in the Force behind this place.
