A curious question.

In the current state of the sith empire, I've found it interesting how most of what I've seen from the characters is that many focus around the old empire, and their way of operating.

Is this because most people like playing as traditional Sith? Is the imperial republica not popular?

The Republica has been dissolved for several months IRL and several years IC. The Sith Empire doesn't even exist anymore, and their territory has been given up with the exception of about five or six worlds.

It's not very popular because, uh, it doesn't exist anymore.

AH, shit, I must've missed that when I went over the write ups.

Does that mean the sith are scattered? What about the Republica's former citizens, their wealthy sith aristocracy?

This is the most updated galactic map, but a new one is coming out in a bit in light of the Republic forming in the Core worlds (area encompassed by that white border). Those who have been abandoned have either gone independent, been absorbed by the Mandos, or will have a fate that's going to be expounded on in coming sporadic holonet announcements to show the current geopolitical state of the galaxy.

The Sith are pulling back to the few worlds they have left to lick their wounds and are now just the Sith Order. There're a few Holonet announcement threads around the boards that explain this stuff if you go back a few pages.

Alright, this info seems pretty useful. So the wealthiest sith lords of the imperial republica in the core are now essentially being left to their own devices, with the social order that they were a part of basically eradicated. Am I getting this right?

This seems comparable to the collapse of the western roman empire- the wealthy Roman lords either fleed to the east , became vassals to the Ostrogoths, or continued business as usual.

Nah, not really. The Republica didn't collapse, it was absorbed the Old Empire. All the Republica Sith became part of the Old Empire and now answer to the Emperor. Or whatever his title is now.
