An icy chill crawled down the young Echani's back as he patiently waited for the arrival of the backup he had requested on Ziost. The night's sky betrayed all, pierced by the moon light, which served to illuminate what foliage braved the elements. The eeriness reduced by distant creatures in the night, released from their slumber, rummaging about and breaking the spell that the twin moons cast.

Caelian had spent the better part of a week in search for a hidden group of cultists that had recently taken host on Ziost. Rumours had spread amongst the local spaceports of strange coming and goings from the western part of the planet, something that went unnoticed initially until workers started to be noticed missing. There was little information to go on, but this ancient Sith world held many secrets over the millennia and contained a strong connection to the dark side of the force. He could sense the strength with every breath and felt empowered internally as he imagined the many previous dark side users that had come before him along this very path.

In fact, one of the most powerful Sith in recent history had supposedly - at least according to the Sith records, Darth Sidious or someone on his behalf had uplifted an ancient Sith ritual altar from the planet and had disappeared with him.

Finding the cult would be simple if his hypothesis were correct, or at least was someway connected to this location, but taking it on alone would be too risky. Fortunately he would not have to wait long as the unmistakable sound of a spacecraft descending toward his location broke through, disrupting his thoughts. Master Tiamat's reputation preceded her and Caelian was intent on staying alive, or better yet useful.

Bowing respectfully, he began, "Master Tiamat. The cult at large eludes, as their movements are sporadic and evasive, but I would not waste your time on theory. I have tracked and found a water source that the cult appears to be using, with your guidance, we can seize a member who can lead us directly to their hidden camp amongst these hills." Caelian waited subtly with anticipation for any hint of approval and would follow her lead.

Tiamat exited from her ship clad in her armor to meet with a Caelian, a champion she had not heard much about, but given his eagerness to see what was interrupting Imperial interests, it would be worth her time. He had spent some time tracking a group with minimal success, leading more on a wild mynock chase than anything. Her suspicions were they knew he was watching, and they probably also now know there was another by the presence of her ship. Normally she didn't take up jobs like this but it had started to interfere with the mining operations of her hyperspace technology and wanted to handle it swiftly.

She listened as he explained the plan and the woman nodded, "We should be ready for any ambushes from them in the meantime, but lead the way, lets see if anyone shows up." she said with approval, letting him lead her to where the water source was located. Her own senses reached outward, the darkness trickled from the tips of her reach as she listened for anything out of place.

The wilderness out here seemed untouched, easy for one to get lost in and for others to find a place to hide. She just hoped this would be quick, and nothing too spooky or weird that would leave her hair standing.

Caelian nodded quietly before turning and himself extending his own senses out across the lonely terrain with the force. The steady sound echoing in the distance were barely disturbed by their soft and careful traversal of the frosty but solid ground. Seconds turned to minutes, which in turn became hours as they made significant progress toward the water source without much disruption.

Caelian felt emboldened by the lack of ambushes that Master Tiamat had warned of, either they had successfully evaded potential onlookers or the cowardly cultists knew better than to mess with the accomplished Sith.

Naturally.

Breaking effortlessly through the loose and worn vegetation, a pair of robed figures could be seen standing over a partially frozen river. A humanoid female was appearing to be collecting water into containers while the humanoid male stood guard five feet closer to the Sith from the other cultist. The male was brandishing a blaster rifle while scanning the scenery, looking for threats, when his gaze eventuated upon the watchful Sith pair.

Unfortunately for him, the threat had found him first, as Caelian smirked and held out his left hand and begun exerting the force upon the man's throat. Suddenly the male cultist found himself under attack, and the strength of the assault against his airway threw any and all other concern out the window as he reached for his neck in a failing attempt to loosen the tight grip. It was only a matter of time before he would pass out.

It was entirely too cold for Tiamat's likes as she walked in silence to the last known point of where the cultists seemed to gather for supplies from time to time. They seemed to have come at the right time as they spotted the pair across the river, though before they could react, Caelian strike first the male cultist, grasping his throat tightly with the force.

Though their swift attack wouldn't give them the upper hand as the choking cultist managed to squeeze the trigger to set off a blaster bolt that echoed through the forest. The woman collecting the water startled, jumped to her feet, seeing him struggle and then the Sith duo. Tiamat was already on the woman, grasping her without much effort with the force as it coiled tightly around her. Their time would be limited, the blaster shot would not go unnoticed. She quickly approached her, fingers outstretched as she dug into her mind, pulling what she wanted. The cult woman passed out, and Tiamat tossed her into partially frozen river, disposing her. Having what they needed, Tiamat turned to Caelian.

"I know the way." she told him, letting him do what he wanted with the cultist as they would continue to the base camp.

Caelian's smirk was quickly tested as his force choke failed to completely neutralise the cultist and which led to the unfortunate occurrence of an unwelcome incoming blaster bolt. His immediate reaction was that of self-protection, abruptly ending the power play and instead drawing his lightsaber with his other hand, igniting it with barely just enough time to raise it and deflect the incoming attack without any particular accuracy.

The cultist, while still reeling from the invisible attack on his person, took careful aim this time and fired once more toward his foe.

This time Caelian was ready. The force coiled around the Sith champion, guiding his hand with precision as he could focus entirely upon this new attack and deflect it once more. This time, however, the blaster bolt would find itself returned to sender as Caelian swiftly swiped it back - the bolt impaling itself into the chest of the cultist mere moments after leaving its fiery barrel.

As quickly as it started, the combat was over and there were two fewer troubles to worry about. The Sith were figuratively and literally leaving a trail of bodies in their wake, with many more likely to come ahead. Caelian simply acknowledged Master Tiamat's overwhelming success against the second cultist and quickly moved to keep up with her as they departed for the base camp.
