Master Ziil's question threw Kithiac off. Did he mean Phoenix? Apart from her strength in the Force, Kithiac knew nothing about her. Not every Jedi wanted to teach, and she seemed more the fighting type to him. Taking him on as an apprentice would ground her indefinitely while he developed the skills necessary to accompany her on the doubtlessly dangerous missions she untertook. And would they even fit? Master Ziil said that it is the Force that chooses the apprentice for the master, but in the end, no one would bat an eye if a Jedi had second thoughts.

No. Kithiac did not see where the dots connected. And for just a moment, he allowed himself to doubt whether the council member did either. Although he relished the thought of having someone like Phoenix for a master, he knew that wishful thinking solved nothing. "Who would that be, Master Ziil?".

Buln mentally facepalmed at the boys response, turning it into a tactful chuckle as he listened to the response from the hallway. As he'd thought, they had a connection, even if it was still a weak one. If there wasn't, then Phoenix wouldn't have even bothered to bring Kithiac here, and her reply to his previous query would've been a flat no. As for Kithiac, any Jedi worth anything would've been able to see the wishful thinking in the his eyes. Now, just to stoke that wish a little bit.

"I mean Phoenix of course, the Jedi who, despite just meeting you today, was very sympathetic to your plight."
Buln shot the boy an incredulous look as he paused, looking for any signs of recognition before he continued. "She personally escorted you to me, a Jedi Councilor, and I'm sure she's probably helped you out in some other ways too. Surely you don't think that's common?"

Taking a few more sips of tea, Buln rapped twice on the table and called out to the hall, "Phoenix, come back in please." As he did so, he added a more personal message as well, riding on the force waves into the other Jedi's mind as another telepathic whisper. "Phoenix, I think you know what I ask of you, or rather, what Kithiac would. But....are you willing?"

It was strange... as the words floated into Phoenix's mind. She had not thought about taking on a learner in the last few years - It could be because she had be so focused elsewhere. That, and she had been a lone wolf for so long - After all that had happened on Tython. She was willing, but she didn't know how to let someone else in anymore and she certainly was reluctant to letting someone depend on her after she had failed so many before.

"Yes... I think I am. Well I know I am - Yet I am haunted by the events that have happened in the past, they don't sit easy with me. It is hard." She said, her voice reaching back through the force as she stepped back into the room.

"Master. You Called."
She stated, stern as any soldier.
