The Empire was truly beginning to grow rapidly. Through either diplomatic or clandestine means, allies, resources, and production were being secured almost routinely. Despite this success, the momentum had to be maintained and nurtured, not only for their own sake but to remain appealing to future prospects in the galaxy as well.
For that reason, Five had recently been stationed around Yavin for a few weeks, as was typical for his assignments, with the simple directive of establishing a legitimate and secure presence in the system. Not only was the gas giant able to produce valuable revenue for the burgeoning Empire but it also provided the materials to help build the infrastructure to support it.
With those few weeks on the station, the agent had performed all the reconnaissance he needed to determine what the parameters of this mission would be. This assignment was going to be a slow process, one that took time and allowed very few mistakes to happen. The target, hand selected by him, was the GemDiver station within orbit of the planet, the only one in the entire galaxy that could retrieve the amount of Corusca crystals. It would prove invaluable to the Empire in both the short and long term.
Orbiting the GemDiver station itself would be numerous pleasure stations. Five sat in a random low-lit bar at those small retreats as he waited for his partner on the mission. Again, it would be with a Cipher, this one Eight and one he's never made an introduction with before. His interactions with Seven and Nine had thankfully smoothed any worries he had about getting involved with other agents, leaving him reassured that whoever his partner was, they would be a factor he didn't need to stress over.
As he waited, he listened to the live band that played in the corner. Five's zippo idly twirled between his fingers. Even with a newly established cover, "Eli Soren," a few tendencies remained the same, such as his habit of smoking. In one of those rare moments, he'd seem completely lost in his own thoughts but, in actuality, be focused on the music. If there was one key that unlocked his hard exterior, it was that jazzy type of music that easily spoke to any soul, accepting or not. His intense gaze would be completely transfixed on the Twi'lek that played the trombone, the instrument being a natural extension of the man.
