Bro, I'mma just say this regardless if you're leaving the site or not.

Be you, people will respect you for it and those that stick around will stay. Those who don't, won't, but you don't need them anyways.

Goodluck, I know I don't know you, nor you me, but I thought I'd say something.

As someone who deals with mental illness and mental health, I recommend seeking professional help. Distracting yourself from your problems with the site is only that, distracting yourself. It doesn't solve the issues. Getting help with be beneficial. I understand the use of masks, but if you're lying to others how you truly feel, you're also lying to yourself, because it doesn't allow you to truly relax and relieve tension, which is what it sounds like you sought with role-playing. Instead it brings the stress of building a façade.

If leaving the site will help your mental health, I commend you for trying new things, and bid you luck in your future endeavors. It's a shame the site didn't work out for you, but not everything is perfect for everyone. I am surprised you have issues with not being given opportunities to do things OOCly, because just recently I believe you were offered to help with a plot and you declined, saying you weren't available. As for no replies in Opens, it happens to others. I'm not sure how the staff can help, but my recommendation is to reach out to other members. New members are always joining the site. Have you tried approaching them to see if any are interested? Apologies, while this comes across as a cry for attention, it is also a cry for help, and I do heavily recommend seeking professional help if your depression is having a severe impact on you.

I will address your comment on making it 'good with the admins'. The admins don't play favorites. We don't want to control the story. The story should be build by all members, instigated by all members. Don't wait for scraps or hand-outs. Do your own thing. Make new friends and try new stuff. Complaining that admins are evil or biased or not doing what you want does nothing but spew smoke. It doesn't solve anything. Admins are here to help keep things running and defuse drama when it occurs.

Thank you for your response, I don't think I wrote it clearly. What I was trying to convey that my anxiety and insecurities felt like I needed to make good with admins. That maybe I wasn't doing things right, that people didn't like me. It at times feels like the world is out to get me. It's all irrational just like most of this post, but I needed to put it down on paper so people could see why it goes on in my mind. How I see things and it could maybe explain why I did the things I did.

It happens to us all. The best approach is to talk to people directly. I have seen time and time again people worry and enter a slippery slope where they are too afraid to talk to admins directly, believing them a clique, and in the process find other like-minded individuals who also have doubts. It devolves into groupthink, and eventually to paranoid complaining about admins, or other members, and think they're out to get them. It's good that you're speaking up, and beginning the process of communicating. By only staying in one's bubble, or in a collective bubble, one can easily get a misconstrued perception of what's actually going on. If approached, the admins don't have an issue helping members. They key is to be civil and understand that not everything can be done. If we're approached with demands to be let to do something or complained to in a whiny method we aren't required to just accept it. We're all people, and we don't care for drama as much as the next person. But being approached in a calm manner, and that person understanding they may not always get what they want or we may be busy, is much more beneficial for everyone. Secret chats complaining about admin bias or admin favoritism helps no one, and generally instead only helps fuel toxicity on the site.

Yes I agree, I will admit that I took part in chats like that in the past. If we're being open and honest. It fed into the mindset that I had about the world and how it perceives me. I just want the toxicity to end, and at the end of the day that comes with me. I have myself to blame for how my relationships turned out with people on the site. I edited out my post, because it was not well written and I didn't mean for it to be an attack towards admins. I was trying to do my best to put my depression and anxiety into words on how I felt I was perceived, regardless if they were seen as outlandish. I just needed people to see how my mind felt even for a brief moment.

Hey there man,

I really feel bad you feel this way but can tell you I have had the same feelings throughout the years at times. Most of my characters (with the exception of maybe one) haven't contributed that much to the overall main story of the site. I always have written characters that were just on the edge of everything and found I enjoyed that, but understand the feeling of being on the outside a bit. Contributing to the story is pretty secondary if you are telling the stories you want to.

There have been times where I really RPd with 1-2 other people because nothing I did seem to stick. So I understand that feeling as well, as I am sure most people have here. Would hate to see you go, but I understand sometimes its best to step away from somethingthat causess you stress. If you ever decided to come to give it another shot feel free to reach out to me. Hope everything works out for you!
