DESCRIPTION​

The 74-Z is a jumpspeeder - sometimes known as a speeder bike - manufactured by the Aratech Repulsor Company. First entering production prior to the Clone Wars, the 74-Z is essentially the military version of the company's civilian 74-Y jumpspeeder. The type has served the Old Republic, the Empire and the New Republic alike, and countless other factions besides; despite its age it remains a strong seller even today.

Part of the 74-Z's appeal across the generations is its uncompromising simplicity. Stripped by Aratech engineers of everything considered to be unnecessary to its function, the 74-Z is essentially an engine and a set of steering vanes with a seat. Capable of speeds exceeding 500 kph, it can reach a maximum altitude of 25 meters. It seats a pilot and a single passenger, and is equipped with an integrated comlink and a signal jammer, which capable of blocking most portable communication systems within a 100 meter radius, although this includes its own. It can also carry up to 4 kilograms worth of cargo. Finally, the 74-Z is armed with a forward-firing light blaster cannon.

The sum of all these parts and figures is a light, reliable combat vehicle, widely used by military scouts and others in need of swift, armed transportation. It can handle all kinds of environments without complaint, from fetid jungles to arid deserts. Though the model is officially restricted to military sales, it is widely available on the black market, and is used by heroes and villains alike.
