5e is really easy to pick up and learn. Very streamlined, super fun. I recommend it 10/10.

I have literally 0 experience with it. when you say 5e, are you referring to like 'fifth edition' or something? Like how 40k codices have editions?

Yes. 5e = Fifth edition. You may also see it called D&D Next - although that is less common, they mean the same thing.

That campaign is nothing close to what d&d actually is though, @Richie B. Fyre - if you google 5e players handbook PDF you'll be able to find what you're looking for. ;)
