Well, I mean, snakes don't come into your house just to scare you and bite you. It was more likely lost and/or looking for a warm place to rest.

We have rats here that aren't leaving. I think it came for them. But then even though we shot it multiple times, IT STILL CAME BACK!

That's a pretty good marksman to hit a snake several times before it coiled up and freaked out.
