Nes'ka I'nad ti'a lo'noga and Dram's Cantina

Coruscant, Level 4914

D5W4M2Y135

1456

Laeonas sunk his teeth into the fruit, and he chewed. Slowly.

It was tough. He had a hard time chewing it, but he didn't care.

The past few days had been a blur. He had gone from bar to bar all across the upper levels. He even went all the way up to 5127 for a day or two, and he marveled at just how bright the sun was, and how massive the buildings were. It was a strange experience, as he had spent nearly all of his time on this world's lower levels.

But he needed the change of atmosphere after what he had experienced days ago. He still tried to wrap his head around it.

Saber.

Terrorist.

Arcanist. Mask. Saber.

Saber. It's what she had called it. The lady on the holo. She had called it a saber. He was still trying to figure out where he had heard it, but the alcohol that was practically permeating his entire body was making it difficult. So he would just drink more to get his mind off of it, and than he would inevitably wind up thinking about it again. This cycle had left him with half as many credits as he had been holding onto, but he hadn't cared.

The evening on level 4914 was pleasant. The bars were brighter here and the tabs were way more expensive, but the drink was amazing. He had tried just about everything, some drinks he had never even heard of-- which was the case with most drinks. He was hardened, but he was still just 19; having disposable income and the total freedom to spend it was a new thing for him.

And yet a few days ago he had been shooting terrorists.

Why the hell was he doing any of this anyway? To become rich? To become famous? There were quadrillions of people on this world- he didn't buy that only a trillion lived here. The city's density on the top level alone was greater than even the worst blocks on any city he had been to on Brentaal, not to mention the lower levels, where there was nothing but endless, endless blocks. A single level could probably house trillions on their own.

Quadrillions of people just living here, their day to day lives all they've ever known, all competing for water and air and food and the means to acquire it. How was he any different from any of them? How did he fit into this mess of a planet?

"You can lift things with yer' head. You shoot good enough, and if anyone's kriffin' stupid enough to get within' two feet of ya in a fight, they'll be on the ground with yer' boot o'er their throat faster than they can say 'I'll give you anything you want, don't hurt me!' Laugh it up Laeonas, yer a rancor amongst Bantha." A voice told him, familiar. But was it his own, really?

He was starting to wonder if it mattered.

But it didn't matter now. The food was good, this bar didn't close for another 53 minutes, and he had already rented a hotel room a couple levels down. Who knows, maybe he'd rent company to.

With a sigh, he'd stand up and walk over to the bar. "Gimme s'more Correllian ale. I ain't shitfaced en'ough yet."

You wouldn't think Paltos had an air of nobility about him if you first saw the dwarf. He had simply hobbled into the lower levels of Coruscant with a rather raggedy cape and hood over his clothing, which looked more conservative than the attires he usually wore. However given the mission he was on it was expected. He was not here to party, to gamble, or to whore. Argyle was here for information, business only, and was almost angry that he couldn't indulge in some pleasures...almost. The short man kept to himself as he entered the first seediest pub he could find. On the upper levels he could have gone to the fanciest of nightclubs to mingle with the elite if he wanted to. Sadly even drunk those fools had learned from their fore-bearers to keep their mouth shut...the scum and villainy here? Not so much...

"Whatever has the most alcohol I'll take it" he told the bartender, climbing into a seat and keeping to himself while looking out over the seedy bar. It was not bad for a place like this, it wasn't those expensive nightclubs in the more higher areas but it was generally clean and the several workers weren't in squalor. He couldn't' help but feel right at home here among them as the bartender passed him what was called Spotchka. Argyle passed the man a credit, telling them to keep the change while the dwarf took a gulp down without a care as he began scanning the bar for someone who would be more than willing to tell him the latest gossip...That was all he needed. Just a rumor that the elites were not willing to say in public could be said in a place like this. He just needed a rumor, then he'd take it from there to either confirm it true...or true enough to exploit..

There was an irony in his name. Laeonas Tannaras. It sounded regal, it sounded important. It was the name you'd probably expect to find amongst wealthy investors, or a senator from the older days of the Republic. The pronunciation, the syllables, it carried an air of grandeur.

But there wasn't anything noble about him at all. He wore a black jacket, a shirt that had been a hand me down from his great grandfather to his grandfather to his uncle and than to him-- all on his mother's side though. His father's side apparently didn't exist.

But he knew the truth. He knew when he got the look on the holo at any one of the Tannaras. The heavily accented features, the brow, even his eye color. It was why he kept the last name that technically wasn't even his, because he refused to acknowledge the possbility that he was nothing but what those around him had said he was.

Ofcourse he didn't have such nuanced opinions on the matter. To him, it went like this-- "Those bastards called me shite, but me Mum say's I'm a prince. So what does that make me?"

It was simple, and it was an argument he had formed entirely out of spite, but it was genuine. It was real, he was real. Laeonas Tannaras existed- if anyone denied that, they were lying. If anyone denied that, he'd deny them.

He'd hand the bartender nine credits and the divied up chips for exact change- he was running low. This would be his... he hadn't been counting how many drinks, but he knew it was high.

Stepping away from the bar, he'd stagger back to his chair, sipping from the bottle he had been provided. He'd scan the room again, seeing only a few people. There was a dwarf at the bar, drinking Spotchka- a drink far to hard for him. Laeonas let out a belch before taking another swig of his drink, letting out a sigh.

Paltos sat there in solemn, watching some poor drunk let out a belch. He gave an obstinate sigh as he took a shot of Spotchka. He looked up at the bartender and gave cash that was way more than the drink was worth, "So Barkeep" he asked in the lowest tone he could get, "I'm bored as hell. What is the latest gossip around here?" he asked, looking around further to see if anyone was listening in.

"Not much I can tell you than the usual" stated the bartender, "Some kind of raids there, scandals there..." He went out out loud, making a few of the ones in the back take notice that Paltos was asking questions...

He'd finally finish his little bit of fruit, grinding the rind between his teeth. He overheard the bartender talking with someone at the bar, but he could hardly pay attention- and if he did, he probably wouldn't care. He was tired, and Laeonas considered that he should go back to his hotel room. But after getting another look at the bar, and suddenly realizing his mouth felt a bit more dry, he'd get up and walk right back over to the bar.

"Oi, tender, can I get another bottle?" He'd ask, his slur a bit more pronounced than before. "I'm quite thirsty allofasudden. I'd love a final bottle of Correllian ale. In fact..." Laeonas began, before outstetching his arms-- "How about a couple for everyone in here?! I'm practically broke anyway, so it doesn't matter!" Laeonas would suddenly say, laughing a bit, before suddenly tripping and falling.

Staggering and struggling to stand, Laeonas would writhe a bit before grabbing the leg of a chair with his hand, trying to pull himself up, but only managing to pull the chair down with him. "GAAAAAAAHHH! KRIFFIN KRIFF, SOMEONE HELP ME UP! PLEASE!!" He screamed, frustration and desperation turning his laugh into very loud, very pronounced sobbing. "I've seen SHITE! So much terrible, terrible shite, but the last week 'as been 'orrible! There was some MONSTER of a man carrying a LIGHTSABER, swinging it around and killing gangsters!" He drunkenly rambled, tears streaming down his face.

The bartender would move around the counter suddenly, hoisting him up. "EASY kid, easy. You've had to much to drink, call it a night, alright? If you really need another bottle, it'll go on me. Please." the bartender would say, seemingly much more compassionate than the broad, overweight and older figure he possessed would be expected. Laeonas would look up, the eyes of a poor child meeting him. "...o...okay..." he would whimper, sitting back down at his seat.

Walking back over to the bar, the bartender would shy, shaking his head. "Poor kid," He'd say, glancing over at Laeonas as he continued to sob into his hands. The bartender turned back to Paltros. "He's gotta be a spice addict. Lightsabers? Jedi are a kyber crystal in a cortosis mine, and I've never heard of one running around killing buildings full of people." He continued, taking Argyle's empty Spotchka shot-glass and rinsing it out in the sink, before polishing it with a rag.

It was quite a hyper-specific delusion, wasn't it?

"Like he was there huh?" he asked, his curiosity piqued as he threw a small amount of credits to cover both his tab and the young mans. He kept his hood up, watching the young man get up and start stumbling out of the bar like a newborn Nerf. Before Argyle knew it the kid was flat on his ass passed out in the street. He looked at the kid and shook his head, calling for a taxi...

It took him a few tries to Force Levitate him back to his apartment. He didn't have anywhere to take the boy and this was the only safe haven he knew. As they entered the luxurious apartment Argyle had been staying at the last few weeks, he sat the boy on the bed and threw his own cloak over him to keep him warm. He rolled his eyes as he realized the boy had cost him a nights worth of information gathering...or did he? This lightsaber weilding fellow he said...Jedi Killing People? Odd...Odd indeed. He thought as he took a seat in a large chair, pouring himself a cup of cafe and watched the night sky and the various flying vehicles pass his window...

Hours passed. He laid in the most comfortable bed he'd ever laid in. Laeonas didn't wake until the morning, when the bright sun started to make it's way over the Coruscanti Horizon.

As Laeonas' eyes fluttered open, he very quickly realized something was different. "Where the Kriff am I?" the boy thought to himself, scratching his head. He stumbled forth, his hangover not nearly as bad as he had expected.

Looking around the room, Laeonas quickly spotted the dwarf gentlemen that he had seen in the bar the previous night. His eyes widened, and he began to grow a bit afraid for why he was suddenly in another man's apartment.

Without much noise, Laeonas slowly made his way into the refresher. It was probably one of the cleanest rooms he had ever been in, and he wondered, if only for a moment, if this was how his own family on Brentaal should've lived. If rooms like these would've seemed disgusting and poor in comparison to even greater luxuries.

He'd turn on the refresher, getting undressed and stepping inside. The water was... actually warm. He let out a sigh as it washed over him, and he'd just stand there, for minute after minute, letting the water just run over his body. It was the most relaxed Laeonas had been since he had taken that keg of spice on the way to Coruscant, months ago.

He stepped out of the refresher ten minutes later. His hair was wet, but he could care less. He dried off most of his body as he stepped back into his clothes, as rough and worn as ever. Without much thinking, Laeonas reached out, the remote control to the holo flying into his hand like he was still in his own hotel room, and he flicked it on.

Argyle had sipped a bit of wine and meditated until the dawn, when he heard the young man stirred from his drunken stupor. He allowed the vagrant to clean themselves up and slip into some more finer looking clothes. He kept a set of normal sized clothing for guests even though his personal wardrobe was tailored to his size. He continued to meditate even when the vagrant attempted to turn on the holo. Without a word or movement using the Force he shut the holo off as fast as it was clicked on.

"I would appreciate that you do not interrupt my morning meditation young man." he warned as he continued to face the skyline of Coruscant, his eyes closed and he was now sitting on the floor with his legs now crossed, "There is breakfast ready for you if you are hungry." he finished as he drew in another breath.

Laeonas glanced over at his benefactor, and he raised an eyebrow. "Meditatin'?" he would repeat, eyes running over the man. He was short- not that Laeonas could care. There were thousands of species of sentients throughout the entire galaxy, and humans were as diverse and widespread that it hardly phased him.

"So that's whatcha call it? I've done'that before. Concentratin', tryna tap int..." He'd begin, but Laeonas stopped himself. At first it was because he feared revealing his gifts, but than he remembered, suddenly, that the holo had turned itself off merely seconds ago.

He blinked. The man was still there. Laeonas was still here. He hadn't vanished, like the monster in the mask. That wrongness he'd sensed in his quarry wasn't present in this man.

He hadn't brought any weapons with him to the bar last night, so he didn't have any of them on him now.

Probably a terrible idea.

Laeonas stepped forward, leaning down a bit. "You... did you do that?" the boy asked, pointing over at the holo. He shook his head. "You didn't... you couldn't have, unless you did." the boy muttered. Laeonas suddenly and abruptly threw the holo remote into the air, and with the force, launched it across the room- but before it could shatter against the velvet painted walls, he'd reach out his arm, and it came flying back to him.

"You FELT that, didn't ya? Probably didn't need to see it! Can you... do that? Do what I can? Do what that kriffin' psycho on the lower levels did when he slaughtered all those gangsters? TELL me." Laeonas indignantly demand, frustrated and confused.

Was this the answer? Was this going to be what finally explained his confusion? His terror?

He didn't know. But he needed answers.

Argyle lifted his head and opened his eyes, standing up and turning around to look at the boy with a bit of indignant indifference as Argyles dull orbs just stared at him So he's Force Sensitive? Most Interesting, "If you mean I'm able to levitate things, control peoples minds, teach Nerfs to dance and Banthas to fly...to the last two parts I could...Second part I can do with just cash and threats alone...but levitate?" his small hand reached out, and before the boy knew it he felt his legs were kicked out from under him. However instead of just falling onto his ass he was...floating!

"Well I can do much more than levitate some low level sobering ruffian!" he gave a bit of a sly grin as he pushed the boy with his mind to the table. Before the young man sat a plate of eggs, bacon, sausage, and a side of beans. He sat the boy down, straightening him out before pushing the stool in. After that show of a parlor trick Argyle moved to his own, hopping onto a stool and climbing into a nice breakfast of his own before calling forth two cups of Jawa Juice, "Please, Eat. I made it myself." He said with a bit of a sly chuckle as he sipped on the coffee, "After we've put food in your gut...and sobered you up...I would like you to tell me more of your encounter with this...Maniac?"

Laeonas stood, listening intently to the shorter, older man- before he would suddenly find himself floating up in the air. "WHAT IN KRIFFIN HELL IS THI-" the boy suddenly shouted, wide eyed and confused. He had only ever even ATTEMPTED to float once, and that ended with a broken pelvis.

Before he knew it, Laeonas was flying through the air. He almost tried gripping the bed to stop himself, actually terrified out of his mind and, somehow, even further confused than before. His concern didn't stop as he landed in the chair, the boy's breathing raggedy and his eyes still wide.

Looking down at the plate and then over at the gentleman, who now sat across from him on a slightly elevated chair, Laeonas would just continue to shift his gaze from the plate, to the Argyle, and then back to his plate.

"...don't ever do that again." the boy muttered, his hand trembling as he took the fork into his hand. Slowly, Laeonas began to eat. Chewing on the eggs, first of all, he sat in a bit of pleasant surprise to find that it tasted quite well, at least to him. His nerves slowly calmed and his heart stopped thumping out of his chest, all the while his stomach was filled with something other booze.

Quietly, Laeonas finished his meal, and he would glance over at the middle aged, and apparently, super powered dwarf. Without much thought, he would once again try and seize the holo remote, it gradually floating across the room. Turning on the morning news, the anchor, an older, blue skinned Twi'lek would read off the scheduled weather programmed for the day.

"I'm not even close ta understandin' how this power works. I think it's based off life- that it connects everythin' together. I'd try and describe it like a giant wyysoch's web- ya pull on one string, and the other strings pull back. I think when that sortof power is used, yer pullin' on a string." Laeonas would begin, returning to the most pressing topic- at least for him. "That resistance ya get, it's like gravity, but different. When ya lifted me there had to have been some, and that's because I think everything pulls back. That string yer pullin on fights, resists manipulation, because it's also manipulatin' everythin' around it. It's all bound together."

The boy didn't know it, but he actually had a decent enough grasp on the force-- though it wasn't perfect.

"I've... I've never met anyone else who could do the things I could do. I thought up until a couple'a weeks ago that I was one in a... quintillion? That's the right number? They say a trillion live on this planet, but that's shite- Brentaal had 3,000,000 with just a couple'of cities." He started rambling, but he'd notice that he ought to return to the topic most pressing, as the gentleman across from him didn't seem all to interested.

"Right... well, I thought I was the only one, but that changed, like I said. I wasn't sure at first, but I'm pretty kriffin' sure it was the same thing now. There was this... man. Idon't even know if ya could call him a man, I'm still not sure. Sometimes I can just kinda tell if somethin's wrong-- it just don't feel right. I've realized that I've felt it from meself before. There were times I'd lift scumbags up in the air and choke the lights outtof em. I I always let em' go... but there was just this part of me goin', 'finish the job Laeo, Kriffin' turn his windpipe into a crushed role of 'fresher paper.' And whenever I felt that, I knew I had ta stop- it felt good, but there was a wrongness that I just couldn't move with."

Laeonas' fingers were tapping on the table. He took another gulp of Jawa juice, belching. "...scuse me." He muttered, scratching the back of his neck.

"But this guy? That wrongness radiated from him like heat from a hyperdrive. He and his... heh, it's funny to say it, his lightsaber, that's what the lady, I think, Trys her name was? Yeah. Some 'ranger,' 'tever that means. But... yeah. They talk'about the stories from when you're little 'bout 'Darth Vadder and Luke Skywalkher, and Hann Solo and ObiwanKenobi, about those Jedi, and about those Sith. I guess I always knew there had ta be some truth to em, but... it's all true. Every kriffin' line of it. That whole... that whole... magic that they use? It's what we're usin', ain't it?" Laeonas speculated, looking up to see if he could get any conformation from his host.

"I've got nothin' else much more ta say about him. He had a mask, and he had a lightsaber-- red as all hell. Idon't think I've ever actually seen somethin' so red and so bright. It was kinda like neon, but not really. I was about ta shoot him, but than it was like he just vanished, andIfelt that wrongness I toldya about again. I've wondered abit if I was goin' crazy, but I've never been wrong a'bout that shite before. I know what I saw- I saw a man use that wrongness in this... this web of string, I saw him tug so hard that it seemed he didn't even appear physical. I saw the impossible." Laeonas would finally finish. He took another sip of Jawa juice, looking across the table.

"...and I think he deserves ta die for it."

Argyle continued to drink a bit of coffee, eating his own meal a lot slower than the boys. He grinned as the young man attempted to explain what he had learned of the Force, genuinely impressed that about 40% of his findings were correct...almost. He finished his meal just as the young man finished his story, "You believe that man who harnesses the Force...Perverted as it may be...to die?" he clicked his tongue as he finished the last of his Coffee and took his plates to the sink, "The Force is an ever changing entity my boy. It surrounds us...binds us...continues an never ending cycle of life, death, and rebirth." he explained while going for another cup of Coffee.

"As for those temptations I find your ability to control what is called the Darkside to be...incredible for a youngling like you who has absolutely no Training. Most interesting. Granted Your training is not complete but the fact you knocked out abit of the training on your own shows promise for a man like you." He said finishing his coffee at the station and appearing to reach for another bit.Instead of reaching for the coffee machine he washed out his mug and poured a small bit of Nabooian Wine before returning to face the young man, "As for this man in the mask, what else did you gleam from him. The slightest detail is important."

The Force.

"It's got'a name?" Was his first thought. It fit, in an odd way. It was more than just some power, and it was like an all expansive... force.

"Heh."

The boy would listen to the older man carefully, and he took in a bit. His lips couldn't help but tug back into a bit of a smile as Argyle complimented him and his independent study and development of his abilities. He stood up from the table, before grabbing his glass of juice, finishing it, and putting it back down.

"I'guess. Really it just always seemed so useful. I figured around when I turned... 14, maybe, that I'd only get more out of it if I learned how ta'use it. Tis' almost like another muscle- usin' it makes it stronger, and not just blindly. Concentratin', focusin'in' on it and makin' sure ya properly use technique and form..." Laeonas elaborated, chuckling a bit.

"Sorry fer talkin' like it's somethin' physical. I trained in close quarters, hand-to-hand combat. It's the best comparison Ai've got." He would suddenly say. Looking back over at the sink outside of the refresher, he finally noticed the set of clothes left from earlier. They included an orange jacket and a set of some of the finest looking pants he'd ever seen.

He listened to his... he didn't know what to think of the older gentleman as, if Laeonas was being honest with himself. He still didn't know why he was here, or how he had gotten there. But so far, he hadn't proved hostile.

"If ya don't mind, I'd like ta change into those clothes instead." He would say adruptly, quickly rushing into the refresher before providing a response. It was rude, sure, but he had suddenly realized (quite quickly) that he was being completely overwhelmed.

He returned a minute later, wearing a new shirt, the jacket, and the white pants... and he was much more calm and collected.

"Sorry. So, that... man. I told ya about the lightsaber. I told ya about the mask, right? That it looked old. Yeah, definitely. Told ya about that wrong I felt- the dark side, that whatcha called it? If I were to continue..." Laeonas mulled, scratching his chin. He hadn't shaved in a week, and a beard had actually started growing.

"Well. His outfit mostly consisted of... robes? They called him The Arcanist, I heard. Guess he might be famous somewhere else. Maybe out in the wider rims- news doesn't travel that fast. He tore through a buildin' full of mobsters and gangsters like they were tissue paper with that saber I told ya about." he fully elaborated. He named some other more minute details, far to trivial to matter. He had only seen him for a couple of seconds, after all.

"But... if I'ever see that kriffin' monster again, I'll do my best ta kill 'im. I don't think I could though. Even bein' capable with this... force, ya call it, he was on a whole nother level. I'd have to spend way longer training, and it'd have to be under someone who actually knew what they were doin. Maybe..." Laeonas would finish, trailing off before looking over at the man, who had carefully listened to what he had to say.

"Maybe... maybe the Jedi are out there, somewhere." He would say. He would look out the window, the morning sunrise tearing through skyscrapers and flooding the room. The boy blinked, and the trance was gone. "...I can't believe I'm talkin' about the kriffin' Jedi like they're real. It's amazin- thought they were fae tails just a couple of days ago. Between sabers and learnin' I'm tappin' inta some vast cosmic power, this feels like a fae tail as well."

He looked over at Argyle again. "But they've gotta be out their. Those stories- bout that evil emperor, and Vadder, and Luke and the Jedi and those boogeymen Sith... well, if that was a Sith I saw, than it stands ta reason that the Jedi are around as well. I've gotta learn how ta use this power, don't I?" Laeonas suggested, smiling a bit as if the answer to his question was obvious.

Laeonas would just... sigh. It was all so overwhelming to him. As he sat down though, a thought hit him, and he would turn again to face the other man in the room. "You... ya know about it way more than I do though." The boy would say. He sat still for a couple of seconds, before standing up.

"Yeah, ya definitely know yer shite. 'Bout the force, and I'm guessin' yer usin' what I've told ya about this Arcanist ta determine who he is and who he works for. Well? AmIright on both counts?"

Argyle couldn't help but chuckle under his breath as he eyed the young man. Such anger...Such hatred...What an interesting one this is he thought to himself as he sipped on a little bit more wine, "The Sith have been long dead my boy. Nothing but Fairy Stories these days" stated Paltos as he sipped on his wine, "As for getting better at training in the Force" he stated as he refilled his glass with the liquid, "I could be able to help you on that front. IF you are willing to learn?" he asked, staring at the young man for a moment. He let what he was offering to the boy sink in for a bit before he finished his wine. He let his mind wander and work. While he walked over to use the bathroom, through his mind and will began to clean the cup. It was quite funny, watching a cup clean itself without hands to clean it...

"Ai've gotta know how much ya charge." Laeonas coolly replied, a smirk tugging at his lips.

Then he laughed, shaking his head a bit. "Bad joke, bad joke. But I can consider it." Laeonas would finish his quip, seemingly a bit more calm.

"Ai know a good offer when I see one- but nobody just helps someone else for nothin'. This... force, up until a minute ago was a one man affair fer me, but now it's branchin' out. Don't know how many others are out there, b'sides you and that psycho."

He looked down at the set of clothes he wore. They were... comfortable, in a way, but there was more to it than that. He... enjoyed it.

"What can ye give me b'sides yer knowledge?" The boy would say, suppressing yet another eager grin from spreading to wide. "Yer so quick ta bring up learnin' the force and all that, but there's always more to it. Ai'm a street rat, not an idiot."

"No...You are not" retorted Argyle as he returned to the kitchen, watching as the cup he drank from settled into its cabinet, "You are no fool, no idiot, not moron...None of those. But an underestimated Young Man who has more potential than the most studious scholar...and one who has access to information I cannot gleam from alone." he said with a wry smirk in his face as he climbed onto a stool. It looked almost comical as he managed to right himself, "I need an agent. One with no loyalties or ties to the elite. One who has no love for the street gangs and yet is able to work with them. I need one who is able to work in the shadows and gain information while hiding in plane sight." he stated bluntly with his smirk widening, "I can teach you to control and harness your gifts...and if you so choose unleash them on any who would threaten you." he said, "I am also an avid fencer with the same weapon your so called psycho uses...I'd be more than happy to teach you that aspect of our abilities. However all of this comes at a heavy price, not just you being my agent on the streets" he said, his grin suddenly fading, "I require your dedication and your time. That is what is required of you to gain this knowledge...and more importantly...Power."

Laeonas paid careful attention to the dwarf's words. He spoke of power, of knowledge, of initiative, and of change.

It was a good deal. He would gain a teacher, and an ally. But he was naturally skeptical when he heard a deal that was far, far to good to be true.

"Yer saber- do ya have it on ya? I wanna make sure yer right about it bein' the same type of weapon, y'know." He would suddenly say, cocking his head a bit to the side. He needed some sort of proof that anything his potential teacher was telling even an ounce of truth.

"Ai'd love to share all my information with ya- but than I'll have no leverage left. Ya could just toss me outcher winda with the force and be done with me- and there are millions of people all over Coruscant just like me. Poor, low skill workers. Some fight, some die. Some just keep on going. But I'm not some special salt flake- I'm just some boy from a washed up tradin' world."

Laeonas finished his words, and he'd pick up his dishes, walk over to the sink, and place them down.

"I might have this fancy power, but ya really don't think that there have to be THOUSANDS on this planet just like me with it? Though... well, ya won't be able ta find anyone like that even if ya look a thousand years, so I guess it's... luck?"

Argyle's smirk returned as he heard the boy, "Good. You're what i expected and more. Yes I could take all the information from you and then toss you aside...sadly I see more in you than some informant. I see promise" he stated as he heard the man's request to see his lightsaber. With the force he slowly unhooked it from a harness hidden beneath his clothes...but not before doing some adjustments to the weapon. He did all this without the young man's notice as he moved around the island and towards the young man, "You may be one of thousands...maybe even millions...maybe even trillions and so on...but they are not like you. You may call it luck or even the Will of the Force...but I believe its because i see what others don't. You have potential to be something more and something great. Terrible maybe...but great" he said as the hilt of his lightsaber zoomed out of his sleeve and into his hand, "Here it is" he said as he clicked the switch. It shorted a few times, no blade springing forth, "As you can see young man, I had lost my Kyber Crystal a while back so this weapon is no good to me for the moment" he explained. He had heard about the Red-Sabers...he even heard about the incident at the prison and the last thing he wanted was either discovering this boy was a plant by the Jedi or worse the boy informing him to the Authorities. He had to take precautions...for now...

Potential.

What was potential to him? Perhaps, in some ways, it was a change. A chance for freedom. An opportunity to be...

Better.

The word hadn't meant much to him before now. It had never meant much at all, when he considered it. But he knew for a fact that it had been his primary pursuit since his youngest years.

He had gazed at the shorter man, and than at his saber. It made a strange noise, with the blade failing to appear. He wondered if it would match the blade of that masked freak. He wondered.

Laeonas looked up again, this time a smirk playing across his lips. "A'right. I still don't know yer proper name, and I don't know what to call ya, but I think we'll find a way to make this little arrangement work well enough for us. How about I be the one to buy you spotchka, and we'll make this pact a bit more official?" The boy would suggest, outstretching his hand in an intended handshake.

Perhaps it was a bit foolish of him to put his faith in the dwarf-- or really just put his faith in anyone. But he wasn't going to get off this planet doing wage work and robbing people...

...well that was a viable option, all things considered.

Argyle gave a grin as he let the lightsaber retreat into the confines of his robes. He would have to replace his crystal at a different time. Things were changing and with change came opportunity.

"I am Argyle of House Paltos" he said as he shook the taller young man's hand, "My Family comes from ancient origins but have...fallen on harder times. But in time i intend to change that. For now I will start from the bottom and work my way up. And with a capable agent like you with enough potential to be even more...I may accomplish that...for now though we have work to do. And My first will be to acquire a steady source of income to further my plans. To do that I need information, I need secrets...I need leverage...Which is why i ask...anything you can tell me. Any rumors no matter how small, will be of great use to me." he said as Argyle watched the young man.

(OOC No problem! With this madness going around its fully understandable.)
