As per your question about what's so terrible about Nihilus -as I don't want to clutter Marf's profile with an unrelated discussion:

I liked his concept, but the presentation was awful. That weird, screechy voice of his particularly turned me off to the character.

Annnnnnd I just made a character named Tom.
