Judgement Day is going to occur on May 21, 2011 and then the world will be consumed by fire on October 21, 2011. Yes, the Mayans were wrong! This man, Harold Camping, used his own mathematical system to figure it out. Reading the calculations they are using makes my head hurt and I just want to laugh at these people. He first predicted that the world would end on September 9, 1994. Oops...he was wrong!

Thoughts? I laugh at this and can't wait for May 22nd to come and no one be gone!

I'm not worried. It's localized in Arkansas. If anything Arkansas will go BOOM. And we'll get rid of some incest. :D

AND according to them, God shut down the church on May 21, 1988 so that means that anyone who accepted Christ after this date isn't going to Heaven cause they aren't really saved. WTF!?!?!

Anybody who knows anything about the bible knows that God will forgive you for just about anything. :P

People have messed around religions so much that they ended up proving themselves wrong and made themselves look like idiots... wtf.

I was given a brochure about this. Their equation is actually very simple.

In the Bible, there's the implication that God, during the great flood, told Noah that the world would last for another 7,000 years. The flood, according to this interpretation, was in 4,990 BC. 4,990 + 2011 - 1 (because there was no zero) gives us 7,000, so the year ends up being 7,000. Then, it was said that it would be the 17th day of the 2nd month, and, in the Biblical calendar, that's May 21st.

This changes nothing of the fact that they're ****ing insane.

I just don't understand how he can call himself a Christian and all this, but he doesn't acknowledge the greatest thing the bible says about the return. In Matthew it says that no one, not even the son or angels, knows the day or time. But an 89 year man does? People astound me! It floors ne more how his followers are giving up their lives to prepare for this. Crazy people.

I think the brochure addressed that too. It says something like that statement about not even the angels knowing the day or time is true, as the day and time as said in the Bible is written in code that has to be figured out. This guy and his little flock basically figured out what the Heavenly Host couldn't.

So not only is he seriously crazy, he's narcissistic.

I wanna see what he chalks this mistake up too. In 1994, he said it was a miscalculation.

He's actually later said that 1994 was some sort of precursor event.

There are a few of things in the bible that are supposed to happen that haven't happened yet, so in my opinion, were safe for now.

Edit: Plus, **** that guy, i was born after 88.
