As promised (albeit with some delays), the following are the new training guidelines. Right now it's still a workable draft since I want to gauge your opinions to this first. It's your faction so I want to know what you guys think of what people will have to go through, i.e. is it just right, too much, not enough? Etc.
We know from listening to the members' concerns about training that it's very boring, and by members I mean both apprentices and masters and acolytes and masters. A lot of apprentices are experienced RPers who have to go through something tedious. It’s still boring, tedious, and repetitive even for those who aren’t as experienced. Even with a lower post count for training threads like the Bogan had under Sheo, it’s still a lot of the same. It’s too much “Push this stone, my apprentice” and what not for it to actually be enjoyable. What people want are actual missions and RPs, not sitting in a training room.
Essentially, there are no more training threads. There’s no longer any sitting around in a training room pushing stones around and things like that. It's missions based.
I don't have new Dark Master requirements yet but those will come soon. For now, let me know what you think.
The following are the guidelines for Acolyte-to-Crusader training. These rules will be enforced and followed when it comes to ranking up. If you have any questions, please leave a message with the Bogan, Brandon Rhea, or the Lady of the Temple, Em.cecile.
All members who have not been members of this faction before must go through this training process. There will be no exceptions to this. If you have been a member of this faction before with a character who was a Crusader, you do not have to go through training. You can ask the faction leader(s) for a rank.
Training to become a Crusader is primarily missions based as opposed to having one training thread where Force and lightsaber skills are learned. The goal of training in this faction is to gain real mission and event experience on The Star Wars RP, as well as to form role-playing networks and relationships with other members, both in the faction and outside the faction. To re-emphasize the point made above, all members who have not been in this faction before must go through this Acolyte-to-Crusader training.
The guidelines for the training of Acolytes are as follows:
*All Acolytes will have a Crusader or a Dark Master to train them.
*All Acolytes must participate in a total of three (3) role-playing threads of sufficient quality, not counting the required missions. These do not have to be with their master, though that is strongly encouraged.
*All Acolytes must participate in a total of two (2) missions for the faction. The outcome must either be successful or somewhat successful. These missions are posted in the training missions thread. Battles count towards this requirement.
