I just thought about this; will credits matter now? And will stuff like ships, vehicles and fancy gear have a cost?
I will definitely be adding the Ossein as an NPC faction, then.
*Rubs hands together in malicious glee*Pretty sure at least 10 player characters next timeline will be Ossein (and that includes mine). It's gonna be an Ossein timeline.
I was actually thinking more of that living economy proposal. It basically maintained itself, you'd just set it up and then done.Eh, I kinda hope not, to be honest. At least not implemented as a site-wide system.
I'll admit, the idea is somewhat appealing and I'll be implementing it to some degree for myself. But overall, asking people to have to manage a bank account along side everything else their characters do would be annoying (to be blunt).

My thought experiment, that may or may not be interesting and may or may not warrant comment/feedback is this:
Suppose I am a hutt kingpin, having established the requisite influence. I then decide to enact an embargo on all blue space ships. How do I communicate that to the rest of the rp community, and then how do I enforce it against the brazen blue-shipped infractors of my edict?
The slightly more sensible version of my question is: how will we exert influence in an rp universe where broadly speaking, if it doesn't happen in my thread, it doesn't affect me?
Thanks for letting me feel important.
You could own a small business like a bar, as long as you don't try to be sneaky about it/use it for unreasonable gains. So like a bar you own would be fine. Starting it out as a front for criminals and having lots of money and weapons flow through would not be okay. So, I don't think I've come across this question yet; A character I'm thinking of writing is going to be a bar owner, can she start out with the Bar or do I have to acquire it through RP in this system?
Seeing as the starting level is that of a Jedi Knight ranked character you should have no problem making a balanced character from the get go. Honestly for people who don't really care about ranking up and just want to have fun in their little corner of the RP this new system will likely barely be noticeable other than a couple extra numbers next to your character avatar.First off, i see the pros of having everyone start a base level(Like in a MMORPG) and i see the pros with everyone having an impact on the main storyline. The rpg(esque?) elements are an interesting spin but unfortunately for me this not the ideal thing. Let me preface this by saying that i rp on mobile and barely have the time to reply to threads im already in. Also, the main faction stuff doesnt concern me as much as other people are. I just want to make interesting characters and play them out respectively and with the interduction of levels and having to grind up the proper xp(however you do that) kinda bums me out. Also as someone who doesnt know how to set up a sub account and having to make one for every character i create seems rather tedious and micromanagey. I guess what i wanted to say was I see the pros in the upcoming time jump but unfortunately for me, it all is just not what i want to do. I want to make characters that are balanced from the go and have fun in mt little corner of the galaxy. Granted, im practically a nobody on this sight so my opinion wont mattern in the end. I will finish my thread in this timeline and that will be it for me.
So I understand that more details are coming about this and, as such, am not really fussed for this information and it's more of a bit of curiosity. Will arcs/plots have to be submitted to staff/mods to count? Also, since a 5 thread arc about stealing, say, a capital ship, is going to have more repercussions, etc, than a 5 thread arc about writing standup comedy, will the powers that be be skimming over these threads/arcs to divvy up xp?
Also, what's the max level and to what might that correspond? I'd imagine max level being someone as powerful/influential as the Dark Lord/Jedi Grandmaster. Also, does level=power in this new ruleset? As in, will the rules from this TL carry over in that a level 1 written well can beat a level 10 written poorly or will that level 10 always be more powerful and can easily beat that level 1?
I suppose this is somewhat related to this announcement, but...
Is it safe to assume the 3 character limit will stay in place? Personally, I think 3 is the perfect number and wouldn't want to see that particular rule reversed.
It shouldn't be too difficult, just make sure that larger assets (strongholds, safehouses, speeders and ships) or some special non-generic equipment are bought with ingame credits earned by roleplaying a plot. That way, if you don't want to do a plot to take over an asset, you can still buy it later down the road with the rewards of that plot.
I loved keeping track of fifth timeline's Davik Lorso's credits in a separate post on his profile and saving up for that special Hutt Cartel armor and speeder. Doesn't mean I paid for IC consumed spice or space travel.
