Many would consider the sight of this room as probably the strangest thing that they ever saw. It was filled with toys and children dressed in rags, and droids served them juices and food that they would never have eaten in normal circumstances. Seated in a chair in the middle of all this was Thalisa, perfectly dressed and holding a book. She had been reading it to them.

These children were the little birds that she told Azar about, her eyes around the city. The woman was always a good observer, always watching those around her. When walking in the streets, she noticed how orphans were everywhere and no one paid attention to them. This was the price of them being considered nothing by everyone, but Thalisa saw them as a great opportunity.

They could be her spies. After all, no one expected that from those that are nothing.

It started when she was still at her parents house, gathering small orphans that were quick and quiet. She showed them kindness, offering gifts and food. In exchange, they became devoted to her and told the woman what they saw around the city. She learned many secrets of her family’s enemies this way. With time, Thalisa had used droids and faithful servants to teach them how to be more furtive and even to read. By now, they could climb walls, to slip down chimneys to read letters and documents, with explicit orders of leaving them where they found them.

Now, she was extending their devotion to Azar too. After all, this entire building in the outskirts of the capital had been given by him especially to the little birds. Or so was what she told them. It was a complete playground, full of toys and food. In exchange, they would need to continue reporting what he saw to her, besides going on missions.

And they lived happily ever after. The End.” the woman said, closing the book. The children groaned, knowing that they would need to leave now. They really like it when she reads to them. Lady Thalisa was already nice before. Now that she was Queen, she became even more caring and gentle.

You don’t need to make these faces. We are going to meet next week and I’ll tell another story.” she smiled, before turning to one of the droids. “Remember to give each of them a box of chocolate before they leave.” it earned cheers from all of the children, who would never have had the chance to eat this sweet if it wasn't for her. “It’s a gift from King Azar for all of you. He wants to thank you for the good work.” she looked at them, smiling while the seeds of the devotion to the Ruler of Korriban were seeded in their fresh hearts.

Thalisa left the room after the children were guided to the exit. Next to her was Rami, an old Pureblood servant that had worked for her family for many years. “I’m still amazed how you were able to captivate them.” the old woman said. “They were rabble when you first had one of these meetings, now they look like an organized working force.

They only needed some guidance and the right incentive. However, they still remain as a rabble and I want that it continues.” after all, if they suddenly had good lives, the children wouldn’t need her anymore and she would lose control over them. Due to that, for them to continue being her little birds, Thalisa would certify that their lives outside their meetings remained miserable as long as necessary, with her being the only one capable of giving some comfort.

The next thing that we need to do is visit the training center.” she had worked to gather the first members of the secret police, all Purebloods soldiers that had been faithful to Azar during his rise to the throne. Now she needed to see how their training was going. “After that, I need to release the statement about the creation of the charity program.

The day was going to be long.
