DESCRIPTION​

The V-4N4 Foe-Sweeper is a model of scatterblaster manufactured by the venerable Rim-Fire Munitions, an Outer Rim-based arms corporation with a knack for making useful, affordable weapons. One of the company's more popular offerings, the Foe-Sweeper is a handy close-quarters blaster, and has gained a decent reputation for itself.

Being a scatterblaster, the Foe-Sweeper has a wider dispersal than normal blasters. Each pull of the trigger releases a fan-shaped pattern of "boltlets" that are effective out to a range of 10 meters, with the fan's widest dispersion being 1 meter across. Though the blast only inflicts light damage, it carries a kinetic punch that can knock down unprepared enemies. If lethal force is not preferable, the Foe-Sweeper can also be set for stun. The weapon will deplete a standard power pack after 15 shots.

Scatterblasters such as the Foe-Sweeper are used by all manner of beings, from military personnel to moisture farmers defending their vaporators. They are notably useful in enclosed spaces, as their wide fan of blaster fire can clear a corridor. Notably, however, many beings have unrealistic expectations of these weapons' capabilities; holodramas often portray scatterblasters as very powerful weapons, capable of laying open stormtrooper armor or blowing gaping holes in hostile beings. This is simply not the case.
