DESCRIPTION​

The Marksman-H training remote is a small, spherical droid manufactured by Industrial Automaton. Originally designed as a combat training aid, the Marksman-H is like most remotes, and is outfitted with an array of sensors and small blaster emitters. In use, the Marksman-H can be programmed to seek targets, pursue, or follow either a pre-programmed or randomized attack pattern to teach a student how to block or evade incoming fire. The droid's blaster weapons deal light damage, and can be set either for full power, stun or sting, the last being the most popular for training purposes, inflicting light pain on impact but not being otherwise harmful.

Remotes such as the Marksman-H are intended for training purposes, but can be put to other uses. They can be programmed to pursue a specific target, and are often used by bounty hunters and law enforcement to hunt down fleeing criminals and other marks. They can also be set to defend a specific area, firing on anything which does not match the profile of a specific individual, or some other simple criteria.

Despite their small size and speed, remotes do not make the best combat droids. Their relatively weak armament is helpless against most forms of body armor, and the simple fact is that most beings with some form of combat experience have trained against remotes at some point in the past, and know well how to deal with them. They will do in a pinch, however.
