Maelibus Alpha was the taken name of a Kaleesh warrior who lived during the Force Eternal Era.

The alpha tribe on Kalee have been an isolationist society of Kaleesh warriors, neutral in politics, and seemingly with little allegiance to external worlds other than themselves. Rumored to have ancestral lineage with the rise of the first Sith Empire, their members were tainted and corrupted by the dark side. As tradition dictates, the Alphas would only allow the most powerful child to carry on the name, pre-selecting a breed designed for violence and strength. Only those born with force inclination would be permitted to survive, forcing the lineage to consist of warriors capable of growing into champions of the dark side. Tareq was no different, raised in a world off to wild space, he hunted, trained, and fed as necessary. A climate shaped by warring tribes, brutality and merciless were second nature and shaped his personality along with the views that inclined towards the secretive Sith cult. A path of the force's natural process, promotion of death and decay.

As other Kaleesh, his reptilian face would be forever hidden underneath the visage of a mask. But unlike others, the ambitious alpha had no interest in wearing the bone carcass of his fallen prey. No, for the tribe possessed an artifact, an ancient Maelibus skull utilizing the molten gold skin of the demon it belonged too and forged with durasteel. As a requisite to utilize the Alpha title and venture into the galaxy, Tareq had to prove himself worthy to wear the helm. Trials occurred through mountainous terrain including measures that tested his drive for survival and for ruthlessness. He persisted, finally culminating into a duel against his own brother for the right to the title and its crown with the remainder of the tribe in audience. Barely surviving the encounter, he finally bested his own flesh and blood but allowed the brother to live. Some questioned the decision of showing mercy, but deep down Tareq knew that some day, he would have to rely on his family to provide aid, the Alpha Tribe must remain strong even without his presence.

And so, the helm was molded and fitted for the Kaleesh; Maelibus Alpha was born and Tareq was no more.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

A natural predator, Maelibus makes no qualms to regard sentient species prior to his hunt. While not entirely bloodthirsty, he also makes little apologies prior to ending the existence of those he wishes dead. Self-confident, assured in his own personal strength and abilities, he often views humans and others as inferior. Though with the usage of the force, many are capable of matching the Maelibus, a sore reminder often times when he has been bested in combat. Regardless, he is a devout worshiper of the dark side and has followed the cult for years while they hid in the darkness, predicting a moment when it was right to leave the wild space and arrive in the outer realms. As much as the Khaleesh are known to exhibit no mercy, Maelibus displays often times an unyielding sense of loyalty, a rarity even in this galaxy.

The Maelibus is a specimen of rarity, big and strong, his obsidian flesh is hairless and shimmers with an almost metallic sheen. The farghul lineage permits a beautiful manacle of tawny hair that acts a mane, worn in conjunction with the golden helmet, it creates an aesthetically impressive and recognizable image. Never preferring the cumbersome weight of armors, Maelibus almost always parades barechested, his torso reflective of rippling musculature. Only clothing that is usually worn covers his private regions, a simple tunic at most with rare cloaks if in frigid environments.

Trained as a legionnaire, Maelibus is a worshiper and follower of the dark side, an enforcer to carry out its dark will across the galaxy. A force sensitive, he continually trains and hones his magics, capable of wielding the dark side to his advantage in its numerous common as well as some more advanced applications. Physically, Maelibus is a proficient fighter with excellent durability as well as hand/eye coordination. He prefers a more aggressive lightsaber style which complements his confrontational personality; as such he often times utilizes form V as well as falls back on Makashi during defensive as well as singular combat scenarios.

This is not an official character review, but after discussion with the admin staff, we are declining the species (even with purposed nerfs) and Maelibi have been added to the banned species list.

You can rework this to an approved species (If need by I can move this to the Players Workshops and then you can repost it when you are done) or I can archive it. Your call.

Hi FTL.

So, I'll be honest, I don't really care much about the powers or abilities of the race, I'm mainly fascinated by the name and the appearance (FC). So, would a hybrid species be all right? One that maintains the appearance but lacks any of the attributes?

@Faster Than Light

Significant edits have been made, I have decided to re-work this into an approved species.

Hybrids don't work that way. Farghaul are a felinoid species (IE: cat people) Kaleesh are a reptilian species. Simply put, it they don't mix.

Secondly I'm hesitant about the profile for a few other things:

Mainly, the profile reads like a pseudo-legacy character, with all the mentions for Victress. She also seems pretty out-of-place in the biography too. Did this tribe far off in Wild Space somehow get inspired by Victress? To be frank such legacies would not be to survive 6000+ years. Did this character either decide offhandedly go 'oh Darth Victress just happened killed a demon, i'll kill one too' or after the fact 'oh I killed one, just like Darth Victress'? Either way, not comfortable with all the references to her.

I'm also not sure about the backstory as well having already killed a Maelibus as well. If it was a similarly powerful (if not less so) Diathim I would have objected similar as we did to backstories that involved killing Krayt Dragons, Rancors .etc .etc /thinking

All fair points.

I can remove the Farghul hybrid and make him a pureblood Kaleesh.

The Darth Victress aspect is just really a mention, she didn't serve any real inspiration or legacy during the time period. I can have it removed and re-shape the backstory.

I'd really like to use the name with the FC, that is a large portion of this character's inspiration. The Kaleesh backstory is just what I could find that could do it since Kaleesh wear masks to hide their faces, I figured that would be the closest to why a Maelibus skull was used. I didn't want the Maelibus part to be -just- a piece of armor but something with a more central importance to the character.

I tried very hard to go through the approved lists in order to find a race that could remotely resemble the FC, and then a justification on why it would bear that name. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful.

Maybe instead of killing the Maelibus, I can change it to him having found the skull helm at the end of a journey?

my bad for the late response. I’m still puzzled by the relationship between Victress, the alpha thing, and your characters village (as said my previous post)

To be frank, if we remove the second paragraph (the one referring to Victress) we should be able to call it a day.
