Lorcan is a Sector Ranger originally from the lower levels of Coruscant. He likes to think he is charming, witty, funny and charismatic and he may be to some extent but he is also something of a blunt instrument. Years of growing up on the lower levels has made the young man cynical and prone to violence.

▵Biography
Born to parents who were trying to do well for themselves despite their surroundings, Lorcan was given a minimal formal education to begin with until his parents decided they were going to try and make their fortune on a different planet, a frontier-type planet, and send credits back for him. He was left with an uncle from his father's side of the family who lived a few levels higher than his parents had.
This allowed Lorcan to have a better standard of formal education during the beginning of his teenage years but by this point he was something of a rebellious youth. Spending time with unsavory characters, his natural intellect let him coast through some of the schooling but not all of it. It began to be effected and Lorcan couldn't bring himself to care all that much as he was getting in deeper and deeper with a local gang. During the local gang's run up to a robbery, Lorcan was contacted by a sector ranger who was attached to help out the local police force.
The ranger offered him credits to sell out the gang before their "big score" or a place beside them in prison later when they were caught.
Lorcan took the credits and sold them down the river in a heartbeat just as he knew they would have done to him if given half the chance. But the meeting with the ranger inspired the young man who had never before been able to see power and authority so distilled as it had been in the form of the ranger. It had been, to put it mildly, a formative moment in the young man's life and he had focused himself on becoming a sector ranger because of it.
Knuckling down did not remove his previous efforts effect on his grades however and he barely managed to gain high enough grades to be considered for the local law enforcement. Pushing himself through their training, he entered the Rangers later than he wanted as he had to show himself as exceptional at being a law enforcement officer within the local side of things and push his way up into the rangers that way.
Once he arrived in the Rangers, Lorcan finally felt at peace with himself and who he wanted to be... and it didn't last very long at all in the grand scheme or things. Teaming up with Corran Velt on many anti-piracy missions. His relationship with his job soured when he began a push for a space station held by pirates - dozens of Rangers died and fellow Ranger Bast Emblai was heavily injured. Despite the overall success of the mission, Lorcan began to become more concerned with the types of missions and investigations he ended up in, including an off-the-books investigation into a PMC that turned out to have been hidden by members of the local police force and even some local Rangers.
In the aftermath of a hijacking, Lorcan made the decision to quit the Sector Rangers and try and seek mental health advice. Despite becoming a Private Investigator for a time and participating in The Battle of Ryloth against the Sith, he began to fall more and more into their orbit. When a potentially easy bounty hunt turned into a bloodbath, Lorcan decided that he didn't much care about being on either side of the war for righteous or ethical reasons and instead threw his lot in with the said that paid better.
Participating in the Sith invasion of Eiattu, Lorcan managed to handle himself well enough to be offered a position working under Darth Stolas as a soldier under his direct command and pay. So far the pay is good and he doesn't care how he earns it.
▵Personality
Lorcan is not a good person because it fills him with joy or because he was raised right; Lorcan is a 'good person' because he is a Sector Ranger and therefore gets the 'good guy' label. While he might be upholding the laws and saving people, he is not a good person in any way other than arbitrarily assigned label. He enjoys excess, seeking out thrills wherever he can find them and, above all else, Lorcan enjoys being in control and being admired.
He views violence, lying and manipulation as tools to be used to get the job done because 'getting the job done' earns him admiration and keeps him in a certain position of control. Control over his cases, over suspects and over himself. Despite this, Lorcan's pride has meant that so far he has never taken a bribe or otherwise shirked his duties as a Sector Ranger as to do so would be giving up some control over himself and it would put him in the company of some truly pathetic former-Rangers and cops.
When he wants to be he can be charming and, even on bad days, he uses sarcasm to redirect criticism and to amuse himself and others. Perhaps underneath it all he is merely insecure about himself and hiding it behind a facade of confidence and pride? Or perhaps he simply is a terrible person who does not care, on an emotional level, for anyone but himself.
▵Skills and abilities
- Dirty Scrappy Fighter - Lorcan has been trained in unarmed and armed combat by the Rangers but his roots shine through when he is in combat or otherwise becoming physical. Though he is physically strong, Lorcan prefers to fight dirty with low-blows and dirt in the eyes to go alongside decent sword-skills, above average knife-fighting skills and marksmanship with pistols. With a pistol in hand Lorcan is comfortable and skilled enough to subdue, or kill, most people without needing to waste more than a couple of shots.
- Evasive Mover - Lorcan's flying and driving skills are equally as mixed as his combat skills. He received training but he continues his old style of both piloting and running; he pushes himself and his vehicles past their safety limits both for the thrill of it and to become unpredictable to those he is chasing or running down. His spaceship may be standard but Lorcan is confident he can make it dance through the air like a leaf on the wind; it helps that he doesn't care if his ship is entirely intact during their flight/landing.
- Detective - Despite everything else, Lorcan is a detective as all Sector Rangers are. His deductive skills are highly tuned, his interrogation techniques a little on the rough side but effective and he has a determination to succeed that is almost unrivaled. Able to track in limited situations (urban environments and ship interiors) and hack through medium level security features, he is constantly trying to better himself as a detective.
