Entry #1 — "A Jedi Maverick"
Though a Jedi for many years, Ky Maryk first became a relevant member of the New Jedi Order when rumors of an attack on Ukio caught his attention and caused him to seek out Jedi Knight Saul Devan on Nevarro. The two discussed a similar attack on Mimban and both agreed something needed to be done about these attacks. To this end, Ky returned to Ajan Kloss to study the "Knights of Ren"—whom Saul's attacker claimed to be—and to meet with the Jedi Council to inform them of the events. The Council was reluctant to order investigations of the incidents, believing that the rise of the dark side would not have escaped their notice.
Unsatisfied with their answer, Ky undertook a personal mission to Mimban, using Saul's testimony to locate the village that was attacked. There, he encountered a mysterious stranger and grisly evidence of the attack. With his psychometric abilities, Ky witnessed the murders of the villagers at the hands of a red lightsaber-wielding fiend, supporting his theory that dark warriors were again on the rise in and threatened the galaxy. With his fears confirmed, Ky again returned to Ajan Kloss, where he convened a conclave of Jedi he believed he could trust to reveal his findings to them.
In doing so, he called the Order to action and formed an information network among the gathered Jedi, with him as its head, using the old codename "Fulcrum," to keep tabs on the growing number of sightings of dark warriors throughout the galaxy. In doing so, he became the de facto head of the investigation into these attacks. While still on Ajan Kloss, he also reunited with Saul to discuss the latter's mission to Ukio and go over the evidence Saul and Yoddle found.
A short time after, the Sector Rangers announced over the HoloNet that Jedi Master Oren Zapan had been arrested and was part of a spade of attacks by lightsaber-wielding fiends drawing suspicion to the Jedi Order. As head of the Dark Jedi investigation, Ky and a small Jedi delegation went to Coruscant to meet with the Sector Rangers in the hopes of fostering good will between the two organizations in the face of growing darkness in the galaxy.
