DESCRIPTION
The GNK series is a model of power droid manufactured by Industrial Automaton. Extraordinarily simple but nevertheless vital machines, GNKs, or "Gonk Droids," so called due to their distinctive vocalizations, have been in production for centuries. There are numerous different cosmetic variations of of the GNK, but all are essentially slight variations on the "box with legs" concept.

GNKs consist of an armored casing containing a portable fusion furnace. The function of the droid's simple brain, aside from regulating the fusion reactor within its core, is to move said furnace from place to place, supplying power wherever it is needed. As such, GNKs are not especially sophisticated, cognitively speaking, but the droids do perform a useful and necessary service. GNKs are equipped with two standard power coupling sockets, allowing them to supply energy to two different pieces of equipment at once, or daisy-chain themselves together to provide more power than a single droid can provide on its own.

Notably, GNK-series droids communicate in an archaic dialect of droidspeak known as Gonkian. Some GNK droids were known to occasionally utter the following phrase:

"Gonk. Gonk. Gonk ko kyenga see."

For reasons unknown, translation of this phrase into any other language is forbidden by high-level command overrides in all other known models of droid.

GNK droids are a common sight in much of the Galaxy, especially at spaceports and on farms.
