DESCRIPTION​

The Frakos-class starfighter is a model of light combat spacecraft common to the Stygian Reaches. Although no longer in front-line military service, these craft are still popular with independent merchants and mercenaries, who use the type to protect ships and facilities from the ubiquitous pirates and other hazards which haunt many parts of the Reaches. Originally, the Frakos was a relatively potent interceptor used by one of the region's many nation states; however, it wound up being widely copied by various independent shipyards, and is now something akin to the generic TIE fighter clones used by many factions in the old Galaxy.

The Frakos, by Galactic standards, is an almost unacceptably vulnerable craft; carrying no shields or even armor, the type also lacks a hyperdrive or navicomputer, having been designed to operate either from nearby ground bases or a support ship at relatively short range. The ship does have a reasonable punch, however; two twin beamer cannons - equivalent to medium laser cannons - fire forward, plus a pair of 4-shot concussion missile launchers. Top speed is some 100 MGLT, with decent maneuverability.

Restricted. Frakos-class starfighters are combat-rated spacecraft, and are subject to extra licensing requirements and increased scrutiny by authorities.
