DESCRIPTION
The Corellian C70s started life as the well-recognized Corellian Consular-class Cruisers, which were used heavily by the Galactic Republic before the outbreak of the Clone Wars as diplomatic and general purpose transport vessels. The original Consular-Class boasted little in the way of weaponry, only supporting two light laser turrets for defense against unsavory types. With the outbreak of the Clone Wars, this changed. After the first battle of Geonosis the Republic Navy sought to rapidly increase the number of fighting ships available, ordering the construction of numerous Venator-class Destroyers, Acclamator-class Assault Ships, and Arquitens-class Corvettes. It was discovered, however, that Consular-class Cruisers could be retrofit with heavier weaponry much faster than new ships could be built from scratch, so the Republic had most of their fleet of Consulars retrofit into the Corellian C70 Corvettes.

The C70s saw heavy use at the beginning of, and throughout much of the Clone Wars. Slowly but surely, however, the Arquitens-class corvettes began to edge their way in and the C70s saw less and less use on the front lines. When the clone wars finally ended, the First Galactic Empire requisitioned much of the former Republic Navy, including the fleet of C70 corvettes. The Imperial Navy chose the Arquitens-class to be the primary corvette model for military use, and ceased production of the Consular-class and C70 Corvettes. The remaining C70s saw service in the Imperial Navy for a time, but as they aged and were replaced by newer Arquitens-Class, most were sold off to the corporate sector or retired for dismantling. Corellian C70s are an uncommon sight these days, but not unheard of in various corners of the galaxy.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Corellian C70 corvettes are uncommon, and are considered capital warships, generally making them illegal for civilian ownership.

INTENT
To recreate one of my all-time favorite star wars ships for use on SWRP for my own enjoyment and to share that enjoyment with others! Also to create a cannon, open-market corvette for smaller, non-main groups and organizations to acquire if they so choose.

RESTRICTIONS
Corellian C70s are capital ships with heavy weapons, and capital ships cannot be owned or operated by individual characters. They may be acquired as a faction asset, or may be owned in common by at least 3 individual characters who work together regularly.

So, first of all, it's C70, not C-70, in canon. Secondly, the armament is not at all consistent with what's presented on screen or in the image you've chosen.

I'm also not convinced that any of these essentially improvised ships would have survived well over a century of service outside museums.

Edited the name.

So, looking at the pic, there are 5 large turrets clearly pictured, these are what I was calling the heavy turrets. Then, if you look towards the stern of the ship, just behind the dish and antenna array, there is another smaller turret. That is the one I was referring to as the quad cannon, and assuming that there is another identical one on a ventral mount. The ion cannons were the only extras I added to land this ship where I was hoping to put it on the scale. I was aiming to have it fall somewhere in between the two corvette examples already present in the tech. If I need to change them, I wonder if I could replace them with torpedo or missile launchers? If I just need to remove them period, that's alright as well.

You're correct that the armament is not a perfect match to the cannon specs for this ship. If you read the official description of the ship, it lists the 5 turrets as dual turbo lasers and classifies the ship as a frigate. However, there is also an alternative design listed that includes dual heavy turrets, light turret, quad turret, and missile launchers as the set-up, which is a little closer to what I was going for. The slight variations were just me trying to fit the ship into the site tech system, however the system does seem to have changed significantly this TL and we seem to be going much more liberal on the armaments (which is closer to cannon, nice!) than we have been before, and I will admit I originally made this design before the new TL launch. I also noticed that this TL there are varying levels of turbo laser, so if that is something we should look at, that could be a thing too. Despite the fact that wookieepedia lists the ship as a frigate, if you watch footage of it from The Clone Wars series where it is almost exclusively featured, it's speed, maneuverability, and the way it engages in combat, running circles and weaving in and out around the larger ships make it seem very much like they are using it as a corvette.

As always you are my guiding light! This is simply the thought process that went into my creation of the design, for your consideration! I am at your service, sir.

Edit: As to the survival rate, refurbishment was going to be a part of my planned plot to get this, though I probably won't be getting it for a while.

I see. Well, in that case, I see no further problems! And I'm always glad to be of help.

Approved.
