”If the Force could not save her, then it shall save no one else.”
Summary
Once an upright man, a loving father, and a caring husband, such qualities have been utterly destroyed in Amarthan. There was once a time when he would have given his last ration and the clothes off his back to help a fellow spacefarer, but time and loss have robbed the Echani of any love or sympathy. The indefinite departure of his only son Elenath and the loss of his beloved wife took its toll, leaving Amarthan with nothing but a black pit for a heart, filled with hatred and despair for all other things. He would ravage and burn every last planet in the galaxy if it meant that all others would suffer as he did.
Biography
Born under the endless stars on a medical transport, Amarthan Guldur comes from a long line of spacefaring Thyrisian Echani. Taking up the age-old customs of piloting his own ship, he began making his fortunes in the void picking through wrecks and scraps. His ventures as a young adult brought him in contact with his to-be wife, Silivren. In time, they wed and set out across the stars with little else than their ship, their dreams, and their freedom. Elenath was born on that very ship in hyperspace, and they were a happy family for many years. Amarthan felt complete.
This way of life began to crumble when their only son displayed obvious signs of Force sensitivity. Silivren deeply believed that there was a better, greater life destined for Elenath than wreck-hopping and solitude among the stars. With reluctance, Amarthan agreed and they sent their only child to the Jedi Order to be trained. Unable to consistently contact his ever-traveling parents, Elenath would have more luck throwing bottled messages into the void. Amarthan and Silivren never heard from him again.
Ten years passed, and Amarthen’s wife grew terminally ill. Whether from malnutrition or the lack of adequate protection from the radiation of space, even a professional medical port could do nothing to save her. Silivren passed in her husband’s arms, and with her died Amarthan’s soul. The Force had taken away Elenath, and now it had taken away his wife. With nothing else left to lose, the old spacer spent years brooding and falling deeper into rage and despair. It was at his wits end that he found Darth Raze and purpose once again. Willingly transcending into an Exalted, he swore to make the galaxy burn.
