DESCRIPTION
The Action VI transport is a bulk freighter designed and manufactured by the Corellian Engineering Corporation prior to the Clone Wars. Though not as popular as certain smaller freighter designs, the Action VI has a phenomenal cargo capacity, if not much else, giving it a niche in Galactic commerce.

The Action VI is a crude, boxy-looking ship, in contrast to CEC's normally functional but elegant designs. 110 meters in length, most of its internal space is devoted to cavernous cargo holds, with no passenger accommodations, only spartan crew amenities and no armament fitted. The ship's compliment is optimally 8 crew, although only 4 are totally necessary. Sublight performance is poor, the ship being capable of only 15 MGLT, while a class 3 hyperdrive enables interstellar travel. Cargo capacity is a staggering 80,000 tons, this being the Action VI's standout feature.

Though it saw some service before and during the Clone Wars, the Action VI's biggest operator turned out to be the Galactic Empire, which purchased hundreds of thousands of the boxy freighters. Being unarmed, they were typically flown as part of vast convoys, shepherded by Imperial warships. In spite of this, they were routinely preyed on by pirates and rebels throughout the Imperial era.

In the present day, the Action VI has mostly been supplanted by more capable designs, although many can still be found plying the star-lanes. They are a staple of bulk transport companies, but the occasional independent operator will use one as well, although typically only on safe, well-patrolled hyperlanes. Some pirates have been known to convert captured Action VIs into improvised capital ships, adding hangar bays and heavy weapons.

LEGALITY
Legal. Bulk freighters such as the Action VI are considered innocuous enough under most jurisdictions, and are not restricted in most systems.

INTENT
To create a standard bulk freighter.

RESTRICTIONS
Though not especially rare, Action VI transports can carry a phenomenal amount of cargo, and are not ideal for personal ownership, as they are much more expensive to maintain and operate than a standard light freighter. They are typically faction assets, although they could also serve as the focal point of a player-run business venture.
