DESCRIPTION
Production of the 3PO-series protocol droid by Cybot Galactica began approximately a century before the Battle of Yavin on the world of Affa. 3POs could be used in a variety of settings, acting as translators, servers, assistants, and more. In some rare instances, they were even able to be modified into lethal assassin droids. Their versatility meant that, by the time of the Clone Wars, 3POs could be found all over the galaxy. 3PO units came in a variety of colors—among them gold, white, silver, black, red, jade, and blue—but their chassis were prone to corrosion.

Like most protocol droids, 3POs were bipedal and humanoid. Their internal power packs allowed them to function for up to 72 standard hours before requiring a recharge. Their maximal speed was approximately 21 km/hr. They were also programmed to be subservient to their owners, almost to a fault, though their programming could be modified to accomodate any personality type (as some 3POs were known to be homicidal, as well).

3PO units could communicate in over six million forms of communication due to their TranLang III communication package. However, due to being produced during the High Republic Era, they were forbidden by Galactic Senate statue from translating anything written or spoken in the ancient language of the Sith Order. After it was revealed to the galaxy at large that the Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine was the mastermind of many wars—including the Galactic Civil War and the Clone Wars before them—and was also a Sith Lord called "Darth Sidious," Cybot Galactica decided to continue its policy of preventing its 3PO units from translating Sith.

The 3PO series saw a resurgence in popularity following the First Order-Resistance war thanks to the participation of, perhaps, its most famous member: C-3PO. Their continued popularity might also stem from the ease that goes with creating and modifying ones own 3PO unit, as many skilled mechanics were known to be able to assemble one in their own workspaces provided the proper components. As a result, Cybot Galactica continued to manufacture them and they remained a popular droid model throughout the galaxy due to the low costs required to obtain one—perhaps even more popular than the H7D-series produced by Holowan Mechanics, despite the H7Ds numerous upgraded features.

LEGALITY
Legal. 3PO protocol droids, as with most other protocol droids, are legal and common in pretty much every part of the known galaxy.

INTENT
To bring the popular 3PO series protocol droids onto the site to be used as NPC characters or PCs for those who would like to make one.
