I'm quite curious about people's opinions on the Expanded Universe and whether Disney was right to throw it all out of the window. So uhh any opinions?
But the new canon, in the films anyway, have been tragic. The New Republic, heroes who destroyed the Empire, were killed like idiots, no fight just this massive planet destroying weapons for the tenth time93% of it was total tripe. But even the 7% that was good I was fine with seeing go. I didn’t want to see comic book stories rehashed onto the big screen. I wanted new stories, and to have that true liberty the old stuff needed axed.
Marvel and DC nix their universes when they get too convoluted and wonky. Star Wars never did that ever, so their entire universe was a dumpster fire. Working within that canon would be too difficult and not worth it.
What nuCanon was able to do wih the Mandalorians, for instance, would have been impossible if the EU was still intact. And that’s some of the true gems and wonderful story telling that exists within canon right now. (In my opinion, of course.)
Luke just didn’t make sense, trying to kill a young Padawan when he spent an entire film trying to convert the second most evil person in the galaxy and succeeding? And him dying because of an apparition? His future was far more enjoyable in the EU
Firstly, he never tried to kill Kylo. When confronted with the deep well of the darkside within his nephew, there was a split second of weakness where he ignited his lightsaber. He never attempted to kill him, nor did he want to, it was a kneejerk reaction likely born of his memories and trauma from fighting in the Rebellion against Vader and the Emperor.Kylo was the son of his sister, so his cousin, and surely has blood ties tho. Also, how did he lose in a fight against Rey?
Well I mean you don’t ignite your lightsaber for the fun of it. There are 3 versions of the same clip so I don’t know what happened.Firstly, he never tried to kill Kylo. He probably lost because hes old, and he cut himself off from the force. Hes rusty and out of practice, probably didnt keep his skills up.
Did you even watch The Last Jedi? It explains why he did what he did in the movie.Well I mean you don’t ignite your lightsaber for the fun of it. There are 3 versions of the same clip so I don’t know what happened.
Yoda was several hundred years old, dead in a few years, and also he managed to lift a X Wing by himself without using the force for years, and he defeated Palpatine. Well drew but still
Yeah I did. He came to end it. So he couldn’t have taken that lightsaber from her or took his own using the force?Did you even watch The Last Jedi? It explains why he did what he did in the movie.
As far as Rey beating Luke, she didnt really beat him, he disarmed her. Then she pulled her lightsaber to her. He didnt have a weapon that would effectively defend against a lightsaber.
No he came to confront Ben, and looked into his heart while he was sleeping and saw how much darkness was there. He didnt enter with the intent to kill.Yeah I did. He came to end it. So he couldn’t have taken that lightsaber from her or took his own using the force?
