    BIOGRAPHY

    NAME: Varis Venukar
    AGE: 22
    SPECIES: Human

    FACTION: Sith
    RANK: Sith Acolyte

    HEIGHT: 1.80 m
    WEIGHT: 78kg
    HAIR COLOR: Black
EYE COLOR: Blue/Turning yellow due to degradation

A human male Varis Venukar was born and raised on Taris spending the majority of his early life on the planet with his parents until their premature deaths in a traffic accident. As a kid Varis was energetic and friendly, usually having a bunch of kids rally around him and treat him as a sort of a 'leader' figure, even though he himself never really realized this natural charisma he possessed until becoming much older. His life was largely ordinary and uneventful living on the independent world of Taris until the death of his parents. Having no other relatives Varis was forced to do small jobs to earn money for his bills and food. This meant that his education suffered and at the age of 15 he dropped out of school. The small jobs included mostly fixing droids and other minor repair and maintenance tasks. Some of these tasks required Varis to be a part of his regular employer's crew and maintain the droids in a working state, which meant Varis was at least able to travel to different planets.

One of these travels led to him being discovered by a Twi'lek Jedi Knight Zharr Le'kar who at first noticed the boy's connection to the force but was intrigued by his attitude and way of thinking. Varis himself was humble, but confident, open minded and forward thinking and didn't show much bitterness and resentment towards the situation he was in while also not being naively optimistic either but rather taking everything with a dose of realism. To Zhar, displaying such maturity and advanced world views in general at such a young age was quite impressive and he eventually saw the boy being more than a good fit for the Jedi teachings. After finishing his assigned task with his employer Varis and Zharr made one last stop to Taris before heading to the Galactic Alliance territories where the boy was introduced to the Jedi and began his training.

Varis spent two years training under the Jedi with Zharr being assigned to him as the main teacher, but even outside the classes and training sessions Varis tended to spend most of his time with Zharr. Both the student and the master were 'unorthodox philosophers' in a way and would spend a lot of time either discussing different world views and ideologies or studying the history of the galaxy. Zharr was not really your ordinary Jedi, his philosophies regarding the current state of galaxy would not were extremist at best and being as stubborn as he is this lead to butting heads with the rest of the Jedi for years. Ultimately Zharr left the Jedi, deciding to go in a sort of self imposed exile and Varis followed. The two departed and settled on the grassy Talus where Varis spent the next two years resuming his training with Zharr. Prior to becoming a Jedi Zharr was a soldier and later a historian. Zharr saw the state the galaxy was in, the Sith and the Dark Side and have been winning for centuries and the Jedi were nearly extinct, even the current Jedi group being miniscule compared to Sith's numbers and dominion. Doing the same thing, repeating the same mistakes over and over again would not change things. Their ways had to evolve and adapt. These beliefs and the extremes of them that Zharr had advocated were the main reason for his disagreements with the rest of the Jedi. Varis most of the time understood his ideas and had seen eye to eye with Zharr and the two developed a rather unique path they chose to follow.

The ways of the Jedi must remain, that is without question and Zharr held no ill will to those Jedi who would not see eye to eye with him - they would be the ones to maintain it, but in order to reshape the galaxy and rid it of evil some most walk a different path. A path of darkness and sacrifice, and Zharr believed that this is the role of the two of them, believing firmly that Varis is the one who has enough dedication and insight to carry out this plan. Varis was to willingly fall to the Dark Side and embrace it and join the Sith ranks as a fallen Jedi and graduatelly rise through the ranks. The plan was a 'big picture' type of thing, with the potential of benefits only showing in the ''late stages''. The two exiles believed that to win this war they would have to adapt and embrace certain aspects of the enemy - the centuries old victors. The dangers of this plan plagued both of their minds but they stayed firm in their beliefs, knowing that falling to the Dark Side and even attempting this grand plan was going to be incredibly hard. Varis would have to prepare to commit himself to doing atrocious deeds and genuinely embrace the dark and be - a Sith- all the while not drifting away from their initial plan. To deceive a deceiver is not an easy task and the lures of the Dark Side corrupt one's heart and soul allowing the possibility of the boy completely falling and abandoning his initial ways. The path laid before Varis is one of uncertainty, danger and self sacrifice.

Varis joined the Sith ranks, spending a year training at the academy to achieve a rank of Acolyte. Although physical challenges were not too hard on him due to his previous Jedi training that same training and background brought upon tremendous mental challenges. The students viewed the fallen Jedi as a disgrace and an unworthy candidate for being a Sith while the teachers held their suspicions about the dedication of the previous servant of the light and as such had gone out of their ways to instruct him to do many acts of brutality to prove his loyalty to the Dark and the Sith. One of the students that were not fond of Varis attacked him one night in the halls of the academy. The noise of the skirmish woke up others and brought them to the location of their fight. With spectators arriving all they managed to witness was the student falling on his back as Varis amputated his arm. Even though there were no instructors around to command him so Varis still willingly attacked his unarmed opponent, a fellow student and took the boy's life. Knowing full well that leaving him alive would only mean 'showing weakness', such was the way of the Sith...
After the incident the teacher's were still weary of the boy's commitment but to a lesser degree and were generally pleased with his development. The students didn't bother him that much anymore, possibly starting to see him as one of their own and Varis went on to graduate from the Sith Academy...

    PERSONALITY

Always considered mature for his age, even as a child, while being generally friendly and open it was never with a dose of naivety. Varis has displayed signs of great emotional maturity and stability (or perhaps just being able to detach ?) remaining generally positive and not succumbing to hatred or despair due to the state his life was in after the loss of his parents. Although at this time in life he was a bit more closed off to other people he began to open up once again during his time with the Jedi. On Talus, while training with Zharr, most of their conversations were debates and discussions more than friendly talks and the rest of the time was spent in training or meditation. During those two years he barely even had interaction with other people and all these factors most likely played a role in Varis becoming more stoic. His conversion to the Dark Side and later the time spent at the Sith Academy only enhanced these traits, leading to Varis looking pretty much emotionless all of the time.

Dedication, strong will and an open mind is something he has inherently displayed his whole life, these attributes probably being the thing that lead him to his current path as Zharr stated that these exact things is why he believes Varis in undertaking this task. Although he agrees with the path he's on and was even a contributor in creating it and stands firmly by it Varis still has a certain degree of sadness somewhere within him, trying to keep it away from his thoughts as much as possible but it always finds a way to creep in even just for a moment. A sadness that he most likely might never get to experience true happiness, that he will never again see his friends from the two years at the Jedi Order and even if he does it would be as mortal enemies, a sadness that he will never even have a chance for a normal life.

Even though Varis is mostly confident in his abilities and mindset a destiny with such great burdens would lead anyone to self doubt. The person who noticed this the most was of course Zharr, no matter how Varis tried to hide it Zharr possibly could just... feel it. Holding The old Jedi knew his padawan better than anyone and was always the silencer of the doubtful voices in Varis's head due to the young Jedi holding Zharr in such a high regard. If Zharr believed so badly that he can do something, then there's no question that he must be able to do it.

''The path that's before you is one of great sacrifice, of darkness.... of pain and solitude for a greater good that you might never even get to see

    I know...

It is not something to be taken lightly, you know of the dangers of this road we're taking, the dangers of losing one's self on the path. The dangers of the Dark...

Never doubt your resolve, your will to change something because you believe these ambitions to be just.

And whatever darkness befalls you, whatever doubts come to plague your mind and make you believe that you are unfit always remember... ' I' believe in you.
    '''

    Skills
While under the Jedi Varis was trained in Form V Djem So variant. Spending his one year at the Sith Academy he has mostly devoted himself to the ways of the Form III Soresu not opting for Juyo, a rather popular form within the Sith, as he felt his years with Djem So gave him enough offense options and instead would rather focus on a firm defense. His pragmatic views transferred into combat as well, with victory the only thing that matters Varis would disregard any elegance and would use what is given to him in the moment, performing various Force applications, using the environment to his advantage and was even not above trickery.

Other principles he practices in battle are those of mind games. He will willingly display patterns of movements and attacks consecutively to his opponent to lure them into predicting his next move only to drastically change the pattern at a crucial moment.

Varis is also somewhat proficient in repairing droids and droid programming due to his time of doing such jobs before joining the Jedi and has a rather tactical mind as displayed even in his combat approach.

The Jedi Order isn't that traditional as it's made out to be in the profile this timeline. It's lax in comparison, like attachments aren't frowned upon thing for example as long as it doesn't lead to dark side things (and all but a very specific few people only joining the Order starting around the last 5-8 years). And one of the previous order's main failings was... people turning to the dark side :) This is just an FYI

Anyways, as a level 1 starting character at Padawan/Acolyte level your character three lightsaber forms would be too much. I don't mind that your character was practicing one form as a Jedi then discarding it in favor of learning a different one as a Sith.

Tag me when these are addressed.

    @Faster Than Light

    Done.
Deleted a few sentences regarding the Jedi Order and rephrased the other so there that they aren't portraied as extra traditional.
And changed the Lightsaber Form to Djem So and Soresu

    Edit:
Also a question, I listed the shuttle as a ship cause I just figured he'd have to start from the lowest but I've noticed some Acolytes having Fighters and different smaller ships. So is any of that possible or would it have to be acquired through threads and leveling ?

It's fine as long as the ship is marked non-advanced and not restricted out of your reach (like say a Mandalorian starfighter)

I'll take another look at the profile later tomorrow.
