Serie was more disappointed in herself than perhaps even she wanted to admit. After her humiliating loss on Mandalore and being doublecrossed the way she was, she couldn't help but hate herself. She was careless. She was stupid for not just blasting the ever living hell out of everything there.

She knew that wasn't the real reason she had lost though. She knew it was because for whatever reason, she had one been unlucky, and two, not experienced enough in open conflicts. If any of them had challenged her to a one on one battle she knew she would eviscerate them before infuriating them head to groin. As it was though, she had been blindsided by the rigors of an open battlefield and planned to rectify that as quickly as possible. To that end she had chosen someone to help her very carefully. She knew that only those with years of battlefield experience could really help her with understanding combat. Hence why she had chosen her sparring partner today to be Baaylic. While not known for his strength on the force, he was known for his battle experience and she could think of no one better than him to help her.

She stood in the small training room, her light saber on her belt. She was dressed in her now usual white overcoat, blouse and skirt. She tapped her foot on the floor while she awaited her training partner.

Serie Fond was not kept waiting long as Baalryc strode into the training room. The room was a simple training room, metal walls and floor to better withstand and be repaired from the gouging of lightsaber slashes. Wearing his newly adopted black Sith robes, silver sith runes inscribing the hems, Baalryc cut a dashing figure. At least in his mind. In truth the warrior was getting older. But with age came experience. Experience that apparently was even valuable to a Sith Lord.

He had been summoned by the Sith Master Serie Fond. Uncertain to the reason but intrigued, Baalryc had arrived at the training room. He of course wore his new curved hilt lightsaber, its newly bled crystal humming to him. "Master Fond, Knight Baalryc at your service. Bowing as he spoke, taking the moment of his lowered head to check her out subtly. He wasn't sure of her temperament, so he held back his usually brazen self. "You summoned me mistress?"

Serie nodded towards the older man as he entered the room. He was much taller than she expected, not to mention covered in scars. She thought he matched the ideal image of the Sith pretty well all things considered.

Greetings Baalryc. I did. I'm in need of your expertise. I find my lightsaber technique is sorely lacking offense. Who better than the wise old battlefield soldier to show me the flaws in my approach. I don't expect something for nothing either. Quid pro quo. You give me something and I'll give you something. If this is to your liking then we can begin.

She concluded by drawing her lightsaber. She had on her belt her other ones she had taken from the Jedi she had killed, along with the whip staff from the odd woman that attacked her on Tatooine
. If he felt like commenting on any of the other weapons she would hear it and probably draw them as well. She was an open mind at the moment and completely open to his suggestions. Her defeat had removed some of that smugness she had had on Mandalore.

Baalryc nodded as she accepted his terms. "Quid pro quo as you say, your tutoring in the ways of the Darkside would be an acceptable trade. Lesson for lesson." It was hard to keep the want out of his voice as he stated with a questioning tone in his voice. Making demands of a Sith master might not have a desirable outcome.

Watching as she drew her weapons, Baalryc's eyes tracked to the staff in her hand, a flicker of annoyance crossing his face. "I appreciate the willingness to embrace weapons other than the lightsaber, but you did wish to practice your lightsaber technique." Waving his hand below the waist, he reached out with his mind and gently nudged the staff to draw her attention to it. This was something he was adamant about, if she wished to learn of fighting with a lightsaber from him, then she would learn of fighting with a lightsaber.

If she did relinquish her offhand weapon, he would nod before drawing his saber, igniting the humming black-red blade with a snap-hiss Holding the blade low, he regarded Serie. "Tell me, what do you know of fighting with a lightsaber... and then show me."

Serie nodded in response to his staement. She liked to keep things fair at the very least, and he seemed to appreciate it. Even though like most Sith she had met he was a bit more challenging with his words than the normal beings of the galaxy.

She glanced back at the staff and unslung it from her back with the force and cast it to the other side of the room. She supposed he was right, learning two things at once would not help her at all. She needed to focus her attentions on her light saber technique and nothing more.

Unclipping the weapon from her belt she activated it and twirled it in her hands for a brief moment.

I was trained in Soresu as a Jedi. I haven't branched off to any of the other forms, focusing on my defensive capabilities to see me through lightsaber battles. The particular style I practice is the circle of shelter technique of Soresu. Constantly keeping my blade moving to build up momentum to meet my opponents strikes. Always partying and deflecting, never meeting their blows straight on. As a smaller female I rationalized this as best. She said, doing a demonstration even as she spoke, her red blade circling around her, twirling back and forth all around her body like a red glowing ribbon.
