Some bounty hunting didn't feel right to Castor.

Some bounty hunting felt wrong, felt dirty. It was like it went against his new nature as a Jedi to go out and kill people for credits. Some of the people the bounties were out on hadn't done anything wrong save for annoying the person who put the bounty on in the first place. Those were the ones that Castor rejected and absolutely hated on principle.

    This bounty though?

Oh this bounty he agreed with 100%.

"Alright guys remember - our target is a human Imperial officer who's out here hiding because he killed a lot of locals." he told his team over the coms as they made their way through the crowds in the poor district, "Now we've got a choice here because the bounty is the same either way."

    Strange that.

"We can either capture him... or we can kill him. Cast your votes now everyone." he encouraged the members of his little team, eyes hard, "I vote for kill."

Easier for them, less danger to them, same amount of credits and this man deserved it.

Uhtred's people had once had strong ties to the Hutts. They were a more permissive sort than most, and allowed the Deucalian Clans to operate with much autonomy, provided they kept from attacking Hutt interests. But here on Boonta, Uhtred honestly wondered if his people just never saw any worth in it to begin with. Racing... podracing, swoopracing, speeder races of every kind, everything on the damn planet was revolving around racing. And as much as Uhtred loved ships, racing was just... boring. At least to him.

"I do believe this is the first time I've ever hunted an Imperial. Back on Coruscant, they'd always seemed... soft?", Uhtred sighed, slightly shaking his head. There was a Deucalic word for it, but Basic didn't seem to have one yet. "It seemed they had more interest in comforts and battling with words, getting others to act in their behalf instead of acting themselves. Controlling over fighting."

The idea of an Imperial serial killer was almost unbelievable. Uhtred would have never guessed any one among them would have had the stomach for it. But that seemed to be the last thing on the mind of some, specifically Castor himself.

"Most bounty hunters follow the creed 'capture by design, kill by necessity', do they not?", Uhtred said, going out of his way to keep his facial expression stilled and serious. Glancing away and into the crowds, a slightly lighter expression had woven onto his face.

"But then, I'd wager a man like him would always be seeking an escape. My people always say 'klofað höfuð lýkur ekki lengur'.. 'A cleaved head no longer plots'...", Uhtred said, glancing back to Castor. "I say we kill him."

"Yes, the specifics haven't escaped me yet. Faced plenty of Imps on recent missions, never an officer though. Never someone this vile."

Boonta. Horus couldn't shake the feeling that working alongside the Hutts was perhaps not the most moral thing to do, neither was hunting people down for a bounty. It felt wrong, off, that a Jedi - even a Padawan - would stoop to such things. Luckily this served the interests of his allies. And for that reason, and that reason alone, Horus decided that a bounty hunting he would go, to snag his prey and return them. He didn't care about the credits, he cared about the mission at hand and those who worked alongside him. The target was an imperial who apparently went on a murderous rampage, and was hiding out in the area. Such a thing was not unheard of, Imperial cruelty reigned supreme, but to such an extent... It almost made him sick to think about it for too long. His gear was of standard fair, his rebel armor framed by his leather jacket, his swords strapped to back and hip respectively. An, of course, his blaster pistol at his side.

"I'm not well versed in Hunting codes. But I will say this... we must temper our intuition with wisdom. I would not kill him unless necessary."

The last word, vile, almost spat from his mouth. It tasted like poison, and it sounded accordingly. He observed his allies for a moment. Castor was a Padawan like him, though he possessed his own lightsaber, and was rumored to be an Imperial turncoat. Horus personally could not have cared less about his past. so long as he did what was necessary to ensure their future. This mission, after all, was organized by the human. The other was a man he did not know, and from the looks of things he did not appear to be a member of the Alliance whatsoever. He did, however, strike an imposing presence among the group. This one, if the armor was any indication, belonged to the roving warrior bands known as the Deucalians. He had heard stories of their people, warnings as well. The young Vahla would be lying if he said he wasn't interested to see the man in action.

"It seems, however, that I am outvoted. I can't argue with that logic... he would try to escape however he could. Very well, I will make an exception on this occasion."

    Castor smirked ever so slightly.

"Imperials are just like everyone else - cowards and warriors when it suits them." he replied to Uhtred, "You would do well to remember that it was Imperials would took over most of the known Galaxy and held it for almost five hundred years... and that it is an Imperial you address now - even if my cloak has turned."

He wasn't being serious and he made sure to give Uhred a grin to let him know that he was only teasing him. The fact that they were all agreed that the man had to die was, at once, both regrettable and understandable. Their prey was vile in ways that calling them human seemed to be a disservice to the entire race.

"Killing someone like this is different." he argued quietly, "When you put down a mad dog because it cannot help but bite and kill again, you're doing the animal and the Galaxy a favour. It's no different with this target... he's not really a man of any real kind."

Castor knew that they were in the right area so it was time to begin their search for the man they knew to be a hidden Imperial Officer. All three of them had the man's likeness memorised and had it on datapads so it was time to press the flesh.

    "Break up and ask around."

Moving to a small stall that seemed to sell cups of soup, Castor bought a cup of the soup and asked the elderly lady behind the stall if she recognised the officer, showing her his datapad. He claimed to be a relative of the blond haired officer... and she believed him.

"Oh him! Yes I know him - he's new around here." She acknowledged with a smile, "He lives two streets over. Has a barber shop there, underneath his apartment. I hear he gives the closest shaves!"

Castor smiled and thanked the elderly woman before touching his com.

"Got a solid lead - we know the target's home and work address. They're one and the same. Form back up and let's approach."

"Well, you know what they say", Uhtred replied, regarding the rogue Imperial. "The only thing more dangerous than a cornered animal is a rabid one. Soft intentions aside, I don't think there's a realistic way someone like this man could be taken alive, even if we wanted-to do it."

And Uhtred had known rabid men before. He'd fought-men like that before. When a man becomes desperate, has nothing left to lose, no one left to lose, he becomes... free`. Free from the burden of concern for his life, for the life of others, free from the concern of anything. A man with everything to lose is the smarter fighter. But when he has nothing to lose? No sense or expectation of survival? That-was more dangerous than anything else. Reckless, brazen, even irrational. Like a rabid animal.

As Castor directed them to split up, Uhtred let out an internal groan. The Deucalian Reaver walked about, keeping his eyes open for who he should ask, thinking to seek out a vendor. Those folks were everywhere, always saw everything, and yet were never seen themselves. Perfect sources for information, but even with that, this was borderline hopeless in Uhtred's eyes. Boonta wasn't Coruscant or even Tatooine, but it was far from a small, interconnected community. The odds of finding someone on the street that would just happen to know--

"Sonur af tíkur...", Uhtred said, widening his eyes in disbelief, as Castor commed in that he found the Imperial's place of work and-his home address.

Working his ways through the crowds, Uhtred easily found his way back to Castor.

"I suppose this is where one would say 'takes an Imperial to find an Imperial'?", Uhtred said, grinning, but still in amazement over how simple it was to find their mark.

When Castor requested they spread out, Horus simply nodded in reply. Perhaps this was different, perhaps the man deserved it, but Horus disliked killing regardless of the situation. It was the attitude that defined him, the unwillingness to take life unless presented with no other choice. But in moments like this, there was little time to discuss, if the team he traveled with decided taking a life was necessary he would do so. Unity was more important that self-righteousness, and he certainly never wanted to be classified as such. Splitting from the main group, he approached a lone vendor selling some fruit nearby, a ragged looking toydarian with a strange outfit. The toydarian waved him over, uncovering his fruit and talking up a storm. Horus smiled and waited patiently.

"Hello hello! We have the finest sweet granadila on this side of Tatooine! And if that doesn't wet your appetite, we also have..."

"Starfruit. They look delicious. I'll grab a pair. Say, you wouldn't have seen an Imperial around these parts? He's a friend of mine, we got separated some time ago and planned on meeting up here. He didn't show, and he won't respond to my calls."

"Mmh... No, I haven't seen any imperials around. Lot of spacers like yourself, but no Imperials. I think I'd remember that!"

Horus thanked him for the fruit and forked over a few credits, with a tip for his trouble. Suddenly, the comms line opened, and he smiled at the toydarian, motioning as though it was the man he had been asking for. Somehow, Castor had managed to gather the information in record time. Nodding and double tapping the comm to turn it off, he found his way back through the crowds, towards the wind of energy that was Castor. The man was easy enough to spot regardless. Uhtred was close behind, and as they conjoined together Horus waited to hear what their next move was. Chuckling at the comment about Imperials finding Imperials, he looked for Castor's reaction. Despite himself, perhaps because he had such faith in Astridia, he decided to quip in his own comment.

"This man's one of us, through and through. Imp no longer. Still, good work. That was... quick."

Castor chuckled a little bit at Uhtred's mutterings about why he was so effective at finding out the information about their target. He pointed to Horus as the other man answered for him, before smirking a little bit with hands held up slightly. He didn't want to get too sidetracked but he supposed there was no harm in having a bit of a jape before the actual capture mission started.

"Never underestimate the information gathering abilities of sweet old ladies in small neighborhoods." he declared with a small smirk, "They know everything only half a minute after it has happened, you mark my words."

On the approach to the business and home premises of the target, Castor noted no fewer than eight armed guards lingering. They were supposed to be for security in this 'rough neighborhood' but he was damned sure they were only here to secure the place for the target.

"Alright - I can see there's an open side door that none of them are looking at... and me pointing it out has got me on their radar." he paused before shaking his head slightly, speaking to his team via coms quietly, "You guys enter through the side door - I'll keep the guards distracted."

Walking up to the guards who had spotted him, Castor made himself an eyesore to make sure his allies could slip inside undetected.

    "You giving me side-eye, boy?"

Oh, Uhtred could laugh. He should have, and he wouldn't, but he could. Nothing-ever goes that smoothly for anyone., let alone a motley crew like theirs was.

Glancing to Horus, Uhtred made a discrete hand signal, motioning for Horus to follow his lead. Either these guardsmen hadn't had to deal with any legitimate threats during their time protecting this man, they were being lazy and complacent, or were just dull-minded brutes, but sure enough, as Castor had suggested, another entrance was along the side of the building. While there were some guards about, none of them took notice, or were even looking at the direction of the side door. Keeping his steps light, movements casual and approach inconspicuous, Uhtred had managed to successfully reach the side door, opening it up and entering.

Now inside, Uhtred reached for his beskad.so as to draw it, but hesitated. In such confined spaces, and with no one yet alerted to their presence, it'd pay to be more discrete and permanent should trouble rear its ugly head. A faster and cleaner kill without noise would be better left to the throwing of a burning axe, and softly, Uhtred pulled his elduröxi-from his waist, charged it up and gripped the throat, ready to attack. But for now, he just needed to wait on his companions to catch up.

Horus turned to Castor and smiled. He saw the location before they actually enacted their plan, has Castor slipped off to deal with the guards at the entrance and... perhaps enamor them with his smile? He knew out of the three he was likely the best suited for the task of distraction, thinking back on his missions with Mig and shuddering. The Vahla didn't dislike the Gotal, but when he was around things just got complicated. Here, at least, he knew that if the situation went south he would have a Deucalian warrior and a Jedi watching his back, not a small goat humanoid to cover him. He nodded to Uhtred as he made the discreet motion with his hand and began to move forward. Horus drew his pistol discreetly and crouched down, as though to tie his boots back up, focusing the Force around him for the time being.

Preparing to dash, he went into a runner's stance for half a second before shooting forward and attempting to make his way into the actual side door. He did not, however, take off at full speeds, but began to pick up a jog and made it appear as though he was going out for a run, stopping suddenly at the side door and discreetly slipping in. As he entered, he kept his blaster taught to his side as he walked down the narrow entrance. He saw Uhtred ahead, drawing his ax and placing it upwards in an attack stance. He could marvel at the weapon later, which looked like a wonderful piece of technology, and instead prepared himself physically and mentally for whatever came next. His swords were ready to be drawn at any moment, and his blaster was poised to fire, with his finger hovering over the trigger. Soon, it would be time to begin.

And that is when the real excitement would start.

Castor had the attention of the perimeter guards that much was for damned sure. The others seemed to have gotten inside the building but he knew that it was probably a good bet to keep the attention on him. Drawing his lightsabers would turn this from a distraction into a battle and he didn't want that.

So he was going to have to do something to keep their attention without it escalating too far. Taking a deep breath, Castor counted again.

    Yep.

    Eight of them.

Oh this was going to hurt...

"I don't like the way you're looking at me!"

Castor decided that the best way to keep their undivided attention without escalating it to a battle? Why escalate it only slightly of course! Taking the group utterly by surprise, Castor punched the first guard straight in the nose. The first punch stunned the man and the second and third broke his nose and sent him tumbling to the ground like a sack of bricks.

The others looked at him and Castor had a second to reflect once again that, yes, this was going to hurt.

It didn't matter the circumstances; Uhtred always-preferred a straight fight to all the sneaking around. He could-do it, of course, it came with learning to hunt and survive in the wild. But he knew it wasn't his strongest set of skills, and alongside it came discretion, particularly with through virtual technological means. Now, if someone needed to hotwire something, Uhtred was the man to go to, but he was by no means a slicer.

The immediate interior of the home-business workplace was fairly empty, at least by appearances. That all came with its own advantages and disadvantages; on the one hand, anything Uhtred did inside there was liable to be noticed, and quickly. After all, if the place was as empty as it seemed, there would likely be minimal activity to be had. On the other hand, the relative emptiness meant the odds of running into someone else was greatly reduced. And if discretion was the way to go, Uhtred could live with that.

Spotting a terminal nearby, Uthred walked up to it and accessed it, harkening it to display a screen just above, embedded in the wall. Ideally, Uhtred would hope to find some kind of schematic, map or some other kind of indicator, telling him where they could find their quarry. Unfortunately, the terminal seemed to be some to be some kind of panel for accessing or monitoring the local power grid and conduits, probably only important for a technician or droid. Also unfortunately, Uhtred couldn't ascertain that fact before he quickly grew frustrated, repeatedly tapping the screen in the hopes of finding some kind of option to view the layout of the place. Before long, everything on the screen became locked in place, and a blue screen with small writing replaced everything else. The console had crashed and sent out a maintenance alert.

"Hey, Jarro? Just got some kind of strange energy surge from inside. Looks like someone or something just accessed the power relay terminal nearby and... I don't know, I think they crashed it?", one guardsman said, observing the alert on his datapad.

"Don't worry about it, probably just one of those cheap maintenance droids that can't tell the difference between a power socket and a computer terminal. Go grab Tulle and Radav, we'll make sure they don't make a mess inside."

Uhtred had definitely blundered. His entire body froze in place in tenseness, with his eyes fixated on the door. There was no doubt, someone would be coming to investigate.

"Clearly, not my finest hour", Uhtred said, glancing over to Horus. "Do we fight, or make a break for it? No telling if there are more of them further inside, but I know for sure, men will be coming."

Say what you would about the young Vahlan Jedi, he could find himself agreeing with the Deucalian unknowingly. This sneaking was not his forte, his fighting skills however where quite developed and he could easily see himself carving himself through the enemies that lay ahead of them. Part of him detested killing, but there was another part of him that recognized the necessity had already begun to normalize the process. One could only kill once or twice before the nightmares began, and after the nightmares came deep and profound grief. He had already lived through the process of killing fathers and sons, and this was no different. Yet that detached notion clung to him like a virus, and he would use it on this occasion.

He watched as Uhtred rose and began to tap away at the console of a terminal embedded in the wall. Cursing under his breath, gently wishing that he had brought his slicing equipment with him, but it seemed the man was doing well enough. That was until he saw that it was meant for mechanical functions and would require further skill in technology and slicing to access the different parts of the servers. The terminal no doubt had access, as it was likely a local server array was set up nearby to interconnect all of the terminals together for security and ease of information. He was about to mention to Uhtred that he could slice the console if given enough time, when the screen began to lock up and gently flicker red. Almost immediately, he shook his head and placed a hand on the man's arm, motioning for him to take cover as a voice was heard from the adjacent room. Raising his hand to the vibrosword, he drew it quietly and knelt down next to the entrance, waiting.

He heard the short conversation and immediately devised a plan in his mind. If they pushed further in, the chances of being caught unawares were only higher. He'd been in situations like this before and abruptly dropped even lower into his crouch. Making a hand signal to Uhtred to do the same. He already had his axe at the ready, and his sword and blaster combo meant that distance would not help their opponent's much. Not like he intended to give them any leeway.

"No. We take this one out, silently. If someone else comes to check we follow suit. We could pretty much funnel them all through here, but we'll need to move. I hope you don't mind making noise, if this goes south we have a fight on our hands."

Castor was still outside and he was still being the distraction.

Ducking under a wild punch, Castor lashed out with a kick, tossing his enemy back. Already, Castor had taken a bit of a beating with his lip split open and what was bound to be a dozen or so bad bruises - but the other guys looked worse. So far, Castor had managed to take down three of the original eight guards down.

It was not fun and games however.

Swaying slightly on his feet, Castor spat out some blood onto the ground. He eyed up the competition that he was up against and made another rude gesture to one of them.

"Pretty sure I've had your mother."

The guard roared and charged in as his friends egged him on - two of them were actually taking bets at the back of the group if he wasn't mistaken. Castor grunted as the man's charge connected squarely with his gut. It sounded like a bad move, right up until Castor used the man's proximity to smash his knee hard into the man's nose, breaking it savagely and causing him to black out from the pain.

Standing up with his gut aching, he grinned through blood-stained teeth.

    "Another!"

It was never the preferred approach, but Uhtred knew when to prioritize discretion over bombast. In fact, his people as a whole would have probably been better off in the long run, if they had. Sometimes, cunning took priority over battle prowess, subtlety over brute force.

This was one of those times.

Uhtred didn't say anything in reply to Horus. He didn't need to, and it was best if he'd started putting into practice what was agreed upon. Instead, the Deucalian reaver simply looked Horus in the eye and nodded affirmatively, turning about. Pulling his beskad-and elduröxi-in hand, Uhtred moved quickly—but softly—through the interior door as he made his way into the residence.

It was unexpectedly empty, at least as far as employees went, but perhaps that was how their target had remained as elusive as he had been for so long. Perhaps he outsourced much of his help. Maybe the droids sufficed. Come to think of it, maybe his work was of such a nature that he really didn't need-help, just a security force to protect his interests.

As Uhtred rounded another corner he rapidly back-pedaled, bringing out a hand motioning for Horus to get behind cover. Old and empty durasteel crates, the kind that looked like merchandise was shipped in but now was just trash left behind, littered the halls randomly, and one was nearby. As Uhtred hid, a single guard casually walked his way down the intersecting hallway. It made sense that there'd be at least some level of security inside, although this was the only man Uhtred had seen thus far. It appeared most of the security acted to prevent-entry, not expel intruders.

Keeping motionless behind one of the scattered crates, the guard passed into the intersecting hallway without even remotely noticing Uhtred... but then stopped, chatting on his comlink. Uhtred cursed quietly under his breath; they were hidden, but now effective trapped behind cover. They could try and attack, but it only took one man to sound the alarm, which would have been particularly easy for him, given that he was talking on his comlink already. One mistake, and the building would no doubt flood with mercenaries.

Silently, Uhtred looked back at Horus, hopeful that he'd have an idea around this predicament they were now in.

Now this reminded him of a few missions he had done previously, namely the ones requiring stealth. He'd been on more than a few journeys with some of the Alliance's finest lieutenants, commanders, and common rebels, tripping his way happily to victory on most occasions. This wasn't one of those occasions. if he made even the slightest missteps, it was possible to send the whole host of guards - that he could still hear fighting Castor outside - running within blasters blazing. That was something he would avoid, gently breathing in and out and allowing the Force to guide his actions. He gently began to follow Uhtred as they wheeled the corner, revealing the guardsman on the other side. He kneeled behind one of the very same crates that Uhtred motioned towards, gently focusing the Force around his left hand as he did so.

A guard, seemingly alone through both visual and the eyes of the Force, stopped short of their location and began to talk on his communicator. He moved almost adjacently to the Deucalian, before coming to a complete stop and standing there, conversing away. Unlike his companion, Horus did not curse beneath his breath but instead allowed serenity to wash over him. This was one of the first times he'd attempt something so violent with the Force, but there was no time like the present. He prepared himself slowly, keeping his sword ready to lunge. Gripping his opponent's leg through the Force, he jerked it back and emerged from the cover, impaling the opponent through the chest and wheeling them aside. Unfortunately, it was a very loud process, and he could hear the person on the other end began to spurt questions. Quickly, Horus scooped the commlink up and put it to his mouth.

"Jeez. Sorry, I just fell. Damn crates everywhere."

"You sure you're okay? This isn't the first time today..."

"No no, all fine here thank you. So... how's the weather?"

There was a pause, and Horus' heart sank. He looked over at Uhtred with a visage of pure panic crossing his face until the commlink blinked once, then twice, then the reply came. It was nothing to be concerned about, and Horus quickly finished the conversation before hanging up. He began to drag the body outside of the direct line of sight and moved to the side, smiling and motioning forward.

Everything was going according to plan.

Alright so he was down to four guards left, the two taking bets and the two who looked like they were still in the fight... even if both of them were eyeing their fallen comrades with some trepidation now. Castor had to admit that he had been doing better himself however.

He had taken down half of the guards but his face had taken a bit of a beating and he ached all over - not to mention there were cuts in his mouth with meant all he could taste was blood, which was not something he enjoyed at all. Groaning a little bit, Castor looked at the other guards for a moment.

    "So is this over yet?"

The two still in the fight shared a look and they honestly looked like they were about to call it quits before one of the betters whispered into the ear of one man. If Castor was a betting man himself, he would bet that the fighter had just been told he was in for a huge windfall if he won the fight because he charged right on in there.

Castor dodged to one side, grabbing the man's outstretched arm at the wrist before kicking at the elbow, breaking the man's arm and sending him crashing to the ground, whimpering. The last fighter charged and Castor was slightly less fancy with this one - he ducked to avoid the wild punch and delivered a devastating uppercut to the man's balls, causing him to curl up and lay on the ground.

Castor let out a slow breath before pointing to the betting guards.

    "So what's my cut?"

The two guards cautiously put their credits away.

There was never a time before in his life that Uhtred would have ever thought this before, but when he witnessed Horus telekinetically pull the guard as if the man had a hook in his leg and skewer him into the ground, the only thing Uhtred could think to himself was Damn, I wish I could do that!

Oblivious to Horus' apparent distress over the course of necessary events, Uhtred simply smiled enthusiastically at the kill. It was clean, fast, and methodical. It did make some noise, however; a fact that apparently hadn't escaped the Jedi's notice. Uhtred was preparing to rush to their quarry, but decided to take an alternate approach now.

Arming his lockbow, the Deucalian physically motioned to his partner his intention to infiltrate the room, and moved ahead, using Horus' distraction to their advantage. The room just past where the guard had been standing was large and lavishly opulent. It practically screamed-'Imperial'. As Uhtred slowly opened the door and gently closed it behind him, he slowly took cover behind a standing trophy of some kind of predatory animal. The target was on a computer, working on something or another most likely. Taking aim, Uhtred fired a blast at the Imperial, but failed to notice that the screen their bounty was viewing wasn't holographic; it was some kind of crystalline screen. Beautifully transparent, but very-much physical. Not only did Uhtred's shot not hit, but now the element of surprise was wasted.

"Ertu að grínast í mér?!", Uthred hissed, firing successive bolts as the Imperial bounty took cover below his desk.

This was bad now. There could have been a weapon he was reaching for, an escape route, signaling his guards, anything could have happened now. Placing his lockbow around his shoulder again, Uhtred took his his beskad-and elduröxi-into his hand and charged for the Imperial, ready to turn his axe into a ranged weapon once again, if the situation demanded it.

Horus nodded to Uhtred as he moved towards the next room, giving an indication that he was going to attempt to sneak in. Or at least, that was what the Vahla was hoping. If this got loud, it would also get ugly, but he wasn't as concerned about fighting. So long as they weren't outnumbered five to one. He began to slowly move alongside the Deucalian, having been a few moments behind, heard the attack before actually opening the door and witnessing it. The screen that seemed to be placed before their target easily ate up the plasma the man's weapon sent it's way. Immediately, Horus decided to use the Force yet again and end this situation before it got any worse.

His sword was at this point in his hand, and he was ready to move forward, but as he did he reached out with the full power at his command. Though there was technically a wall between them, the Imperial target would find it unfortunate that the Force did not care for such things. His line of sight was still a factor, and even as the man began to kneel down and out of the way of Uhtred's blast bolts, Horus unleashed his attack. Unfortunately, the target managed to move out of sight as the Force Pull met it's mark, shattering the screen between them but ultimately leaving the man completely unharmed. It would take more than that to end this, it seemed.
