How did he always seem to calm her down every time she needed it? It must have been some vampire spell. Everytime he put his arm around her she just felt safe and cared for. Emily leaned into it, sighing from as she relieved the stress, and then looked up into his eyes as he tried to promise her everything would be fine. She wished she could believe him. Things haven't been fine since she ran into his life. Or rather when he walked into her life. It seemed he'd saved her then only to doom her to a life of being saved again and again. Emily really hoped that cycle would end soon. August would kiss her cheek and they'd be on their way once more. Her hand fluttered up to her cheek where she could still feel his lips and that made her smile some. She then leaned back into him and clutched his arm as they drove, hoping her could steer with one arm. As they drove he came to the conclusion they had at least a day and she'd nod on response. Serenity was going to show up around that time. And if he was taking her to some mountain...maybe he could find food up in that direction too. If not he could always get some before or after the witch's company. Actually... "You should take Serenity with you," she offered out of nowhere. "You two could...look out for one another. Keep each other safe while I'm not there..." Emily didn't like the idea of him going off with another girl, but it was better knowing he'd be protected with her powers to watch his back. That was more important right now.
