He was here for an odd job, doing a one off that involved gaining the trail on a spice operation. It was an avenue that could generate a lot of credits if the right pressure was applied, and he was determined to get a cut of that cash. His eyes roamed over all the crowds in the club that was booming with activity.

There were women dancing on raised platforms, and he could smell the faint hint of the infamous Zeltron pheromone. It made his head swirl, but he shook himself out of it. He looked like a patron, dressed in a black leather jacket over a shirt and pants. No one would ever be able to guess he was a Sith, and his saber hilt was stashed out of sight.

He made his way through the crowd, his gaze trained towards the bar up ahead. He checked his chrono, knowing that his contact would arrive in about twenty minutes. Edin took a seat and ordered himself a Corellian whisky, tilting his head to admire the ladies on the stage.

“-An entire factory of ‘em!” A man next to him said excitedly. He was slurring his words, “You bet your ass I’m gonna buy them. An entire stash of quickdraws, you kiddin’ me? It’s jackpot. They’re trying to rob me though,” The man guffawed, “I’m gonna have to convince them to bring the price down.”

This caught Edin’s attention, and he looked forward again. He quietly sipped from his drink, thoughts of the spice operation quickly slipping from his mind.

For about the tenth time in as many minutes Aadya checked her chrono. She was supposed to be meeting her cousin Midas here so that he could give her some more of that spice that he'd had at her party, she'd been unable to find it through any of her usual contacts. Aadya wasn't an addict or anything, but she dabbled like most people did - and that spice was the best she'd ever had and nothing else even came close.

As usual though the Drasts were a flighty bunch and at this point Aadya was pretty convinced that Midas wasn't coming. Oh well, she'd get a hold of him one way or another and he'd be giving her the spice at a considerable discount for making her waste her time. Midas had told her that another person would be joining them, though Aadya had no clue who it was so she didn't even know if they were here or not either.

Just as she was beginning to leave, Aadya overheard a rather loud and apparently stupid man broadcasting an interesting business venture. Deciding to stop for a moment and listen, she couldn't help but feel a little intrigued and she couldn't help her mind from thinking of ways to potentially screw the idiot over and take his jackpot for herself.

Sliding into the bar next to next to a rather handsome looking stranger, Aadya couldn't help but say something to him. "Almost makes you want to take advantage, doesn't it?" She was half joking and half serious, but maybe finding a like minded soul might push her over the edge. She wasn't particularly dressed for serious work and she didn't even have her lightsaber with her, though as always she was carrying her blaster on her hip and her sith knife in a special pocket on the inside of her jacket.

She could get by with that.

Edin was intently listening to the man when another voice piped up. He snapped to look at the woman next to him, quirking an eyebrow at her comment. She had a knowing look on her face, and he realized he had been entirely too obvious. He didn’t answer immediately, considering his options on what to do from here on out. She had been thinking the same thing as him, and that meant there was another person involved.

“I hope you’re not some undercover fed,” He said with a grin, “Because I’d get in trouble for saying yes,” Edin turned to look at the man again. He was now loudly boasting about what a large supply of quickdraws the suppliers had, and how he planned on undercutting them. Edin said nothing for a moment, sipping from his whisky.

At long last, he finally gazed at the woman again, “All right, I’ll bite,” He said quietly, “I think you can probably do a much better job of getting him alone somewhere so we can get what we need off him,” Edin’s eyes trailed up and down her body without a hint of shame. There were some skills that he simply did not possess, and the buyer seemed just the right amount trashed to be easily lured by a pretty girl.

Aadya couldn't help but laugh at Edin's insinuation that she might be police. "Sounds like you're just trying to get me to do the dirty work," she said, returning Edin's once over with one of her own, coupling it with a coy smile. He wasn't half bad looking; tall, athletic, good hair. Aadya's mind drifted to Milo for a moment but she pushed those thoughts away for now. She wasn't here to do anything ridiculous that could jeopardize her relationship, but flirting was nothing. Right?

"I'll get that guy to follow me to the back before you finish babying that whiskey you have there."

Walking over to the loud, terrible businessman Aadya bent down and simply whispered a couple things into his ear. If his pants were made of durasteel you probably would have been able to hear an audible plink when she'd finished. She walked away from the man without looking turning to look if he'd follow - he was going to follow - and headed towards the back of the bar where there was a door that led to an alley.

The man waited the few minutes like Aadya'd told him before scurrying back towards where she went, slipping through the crowd with a look of lust glinting in his eyes. Aadya hoped that Edin wasn't going to leave her hanging, she didn't particularly feel like having to gut the businessman when she inevitably reneged on her promises.

It was true. He was most certainly trying to get her to do the dirty work. He was about to open his mouth to backtrack, but she was several steps ahead. Edin couldn’t help but grin as she rose from her seat and sauntered over to the target in question. His gaze lingered on her as he quietly sipped from his glass, watching the scene play out as if he were observing a Holoflick. It was as if the buyer had been hit with a jolt of electricity, suddenly grinning and giddy as he was eager to follow her out.

Back out in the alley, the man showed up as promised. His eyes were gleaming in delight, and he looked positively thrilled at coming across a hot young thing over half his age younger. He started off by bragging about how important he was, and how it was such a big deal she could get his attention like this. He ‘normally didn’t do this’ but was ‘making an exception just for her’. She would begin to notice that Edin was taking his time, seconds ticking by quickly.

For a moment it would seem as if he had indeed left her hanging. However, after a moment, there was the subtlest of movements behind the man. There was a flash of a hand and a strike to the side of the temple, imbued with the Force. It was enough to knock the man out at once and make it a clean job. The man began to slump and Edin caught him, dropping him and shoving him behind a dumpster.

In his other hand was a glass of expensive imported liquor, which he had miraculously managed not to spill a single drop of. He extended the glass to hand to the woman, “Noticed you didn’t get a chance to grab a drink,” Edin grinned and gave her a wink before focusing his attention back on the man. He crouched down and began to search him, pulling out his comlink and datapad. Edin used the man’s fingerprints to unlock the datapad and comlink, quickly finding the information on the supplier and buyer exchange.

“Okay the deal’s happening tonight,” He paused for a moment, “Some place called Pink District” Edin rose to stand again, shrugging, “I don’t know what that is, but guess we’ll find out.”

The way Edin handled the businessman was actually kind of impressive. Aadya was about two seconds away from drawing her dagger to scare away or subdue the guy and then all of a sudden he's just.. knocked straight on his ass. Aadya made a mental note to ask Edin about teaching her how to knock someone out like that, assuming he didn't do the same to her at some point and make off with the guns they were going to steal. He didn't seem shady.. but you never know.

Aadya took the drink from Edin with a quick smile, though while Edin's attention was drawn away while he was getting the info she quietly and discreetly disposed of its contents on the ground. It's not that she didn't trust random drinks from apparently lethal strangers but she didn't trust drinks from apparently lethal strangers.

"Pink District? Well if it's anything like Nar Shaddaa's Red Light sector you're about to see a bunch of weird shit you probably wish you hadn't seen by the end of the night." Thinking for a moment, Aadya cocked her head for Edin to follow her as she headed back to the street. She remembered that there was some creepy Balosar selling death sticks outside the bar, if anyone knew where the Pink District was it was probably him.

Luckily, he was still standing in the same spot Aadya had seen him in earlier. Walking over, she gave him a curt nod. "You know where the Pink District is?" She asked bluntly, not really wanting to spend any more time around him than necessary. The Balosar chuckled before flashing a gap-toothed grin towards her.

"Might know, got these death sticks weighing my memory down though. Maybe if I got rid of some, I might remember."

It was the lamest thing Aadya had ever heard. Rolling her eyes, she pulled out a credit chit worth about five hundred creds. "Just take the chit and keep the death sticks," she said, sliding him the chit subtly.

"My kind of girl," he said, flashing that same gross ass grin. "About five blocks down that way. You'll know it if you see it. Pink shit everywhere."

Aadya didn't respond, instead turning and heading off towards where the Balosar had instructed. The whole exchange had taken just a minute or two, something for which Aadya was quite thankful. "Balosars are krffing gross," she said under her breath as she walked away.

"So we just gonna wing this thing or do you want to make up some sort of plan?" She asked, turning her head to look at Edin. Aadya would have preferred to have a plan but sometimes winging it could be a hell of a lot of fun. Time to see what kind of guy Edin was, the safe kind or the fun kind.

“Uh no, why would I know anything about Nar Shaddaa’s red light district?” He mentioned casually, pointedly looking in the other direction innocently. Edin had frequented many shady places during his time as a Sith, but Zeltros was unknown to him. The woman appeared to have a clue on where to go, and he wasn’t going to pass up on an opportunity to lazily follow. Besides he was provided with an entertaining view this way.

To his surprise, they came to stop near a Balosar. Edin had actually noticed him before, having ignored his attempts to sell him deathsticks. He stuffed his hands in his pockets and watched the exchange of words with mild amusement. As they began to walk away, Edin grinned, “Ex-boyfriend of yours?”

He kept his gaze trained forward as she asked if he had a plan. He shrugged noncommittally in response, “I decided I’m going to steal some quickdraws about five minutes ago with a woman whose name I don't even know,” He tilted his head to look at her, “Do I seem the type to plan?” Edin had confidence in his abilities to get out of sticky situations, and he simply hoped today would be another lucky break.

The walk towards the district was mostly uneventful. However, as they drew closer, the roads became empty and there were side alleys much lower visibility. He could see bright lights ahead in the distance that must have been the district, but this middle patch was eerily quiet and empty. Edin’s eyes narrowed, the hairs on the back of his neck standing.

Sure enough, a group of men casually walked out of one of the alleys. They appeared to be part of a gang, and the group was a mixture of Rodians and humans. They had guns and other weapons on them, and their eyes immediately went to the woman.

“How ‘bout we take that fine ass thing off your hands and you go on home like a good little boy?”

Edin, of course, didn’t know that the woman accompanying him was a Sith. He simply stepped out in front of her, scowling at the group, “How 'bout you just go back to sucking each other’s dicks in whatever shady alley you just crawled out of.”

    ____________

So it seemed Edin was indeed the fun kind. Aadya was fine with this, it was a pretty stark contrast to the things she'd grown used to lately. She'd been spending a lot of time with with her boyfriend Milo, and he was a lot more.. prepared. The type to get all the ducks in a row before shooting them down. It was a fine philosophy and Aadya was sure that it had gotten him to the elevated position that he now held, but sometimes you just needed to really let loose and see where the Force would take you.

As they walked Aadya noticed the streets become suspiciously empty and quiet. She hadn't been on Zeltros that long but even during her short time she'd never seen any area of the city like this. It wasn't late enough for even the most devoted bar hoppers to be passed out in their houses. There was something else going on here, she was sure of it.

And as if on cue, that something else reared its ugly ass face. A bunch of thugs stepped out of one of the darker alleys, confronting them with confidence likely due to their numbers advantage. There was five of them against just Edin and Aadya, but even now Aadya already liked their odds.

Aadya almost snorted with laughter at Edin's comment towards the thugs, the man sliding his body in between she and them. It was a chivalrous act and Aadya appreciated it, obviously he wasn't aware that she was more than capable of holding her own in a fight against some fat drunks and their bug eyes friends. She noticed one of the Rodians shakily holding a pistol and pointing it towards them which gave Aadya an idea.

Subtly, she moved her hand towards the Rodian and his gun, gripping the pistol hilt and his hand with the force so that he couldn't let it go. With a quick motion, she forced the pistol down and underneath the Rodian's chin and then squeezed, making him essentially shoot himself up through the chin and the top of his head. To anyone unfamiliar with the force, it would probably seem like the the guy just decided to randomly kill himself. Though anyone with a brain could probably figure out what happened pretty quick.

There was only one thug with a gun left now, the rest just had melee weapons. Aadya was not afraid even if she didn't have her lightsaber. She used the force to draw her dagger with a smile. "Unless the rest of you morons want to die, I suggest you kriff off back to the hole you crawled out of."

Her words seemed to fall on deaf ears though, the thugs simply chuckling and moving in for a fight. Guess they were about to find out what happens after you die.

Edin was about to engage them in the fight, when he sensed the Force. His head snapped in the direction of the Rodian that raised a gun and shot himself. Edin could only quirk an eyebrow, shooting a quick telepathic message to the woman next to him, “Any other surprises I should know about?”

He sprang into action then, not drawing a weapon just yet. A man came at him with a knife and Edin caught the man’s hand. With his other hand, he called the Force to it and slammed it into his face, shattering his nose and cheekbone instantly. The man fell to the ground howling, but not before Edin plucked the knife from his hand and hurled it with precision into the eye of the man that was leveling his gun at him.

Edin leapt over the injured man in time to run into a man that slammed a bat down towards him. Once again with the Force focused into his hand, he slammed it up against the bat, shattering it in half and making it a deadly weapon. Edin then shoved the jagged edge into the man’s throat, killing him at once. Using the Force, he then hurled that man directly into another man that was making his way towards the woman. This gave her the chance to finish that man off.

Within seconds, he had dispatched the three men, all without drawing out a weapon of his own. Edin looked around to see if anyone else was coming, ignoring the groaning survivor on the ground. He walked towards the woman, “You all right?” He asked.

He may have had a dysfunctional family, but he was still raised as a gentleman, “Come on, let’s keep moving,” Edin offered her his arm, prepared to guide her casually through the bloody carnage they had left on the streets.

"Oh probably, but life's not fun if you know all of the surprises."

The telepathic message that crossed over Aadya's mind, in Edin's voice no less, made her smile a bit. She wondered for a hot second if there was a chance that he was a Jedi of all things, but the next minute or so that played out in front of her kind of made that probably wasn't the case. The efficiency - and if she were being honest, the brutality - of watching Edin dispatch the rest of the men was quite exhilarating. The more time she spent with Edin the more impressed she was by him, which was rare as Aadya was generally unimpressed by most things she encountered in life.

"Yeah, I'm fine," she said with a bit of a chuckle. Aadya had barely had to do anything at all to survive the attack, which was fine by her. She was not one to turn her nose up at taking the easy path to earn rewards. Not everything in life needed to be a struggle.

Aadya took Edin's arm as he offered it and walked with him, their destination close. She let the force wash over her to clear her head, the next part of their plan was going to be the difficult part. They were going to impersonate the moron they'd knocked out back at the club, Aadya wondered if Edin was up to the task of pretending to be someone so stupid. Ideally he wouldn't have to do it for very long, but Aadya knew that things that appeared straight forward usually had the most bends in the road.

She never asked Edin if he was a Sith or how he knew telepathy because honestly Aadya didn't really care that much. All she needed right now was an ally, maybe a friend, and Edin was being that for her. She could pry into his personal details later, after they'd gotten their mark, if they both lived through it. No sense in getting to know someone that might be dead in the next ten minutes or so.
