It was a quiet night on the Sith capital world of Courscant, and quiet for a city world was unusual. Then again, everyone had to sleep eventually right? While most folks drift to sleep in their beds, the more nefarious types tended to stay awake. That led to the Empire having patrols around the clock. Considering the large amount of restaurants that were closed deep into the night, the troops had limited options for food. There were of course, imperial rations, but they were hardly considered edible.

Thankfully for the empire's finest, one pizzeria had it's doors open twenty four hours a day, every day of the year. They even offered a fifty percent military discount! This restaurant was Al's Pizzeria, five star pizza joint on the outside, rebel terrorist organization on the inside. The shop's delivery boy was Kaath Shorn, a tall and dark human with a sleek look. He was the primary saboteur and assassin for the cell.

Given the silence of the night, something was bound to go horribly wrong, or perhaps incredibly well. The restaurant would hear the beeping of a datapad, bearing an order for two large pepperoni pizzas. The customer had selected the 'military discount' meaning that the customer must have been an imperial soldier or something similar to that. They would make the pizza's alright, but not the delicious kind. The crew's technician would quickly whip up two "pizza box" explosives, and hand them to Kaath. "alright kid, you're on again. Deliver these to imperial security platform 00-27. Whoever ordered this one is gonna be in for a surprise."

Kaath would give a quick nod as he would put the two boxes into a carrying bag. All of this was a simple routine for the pizza guy. It felt like he had run this exact same job one hundred times before, in some ways it was getting stale... "It'll be there in thirty minutes, or it's free," the human would chuckle.

Another weekend, another party, but this one felt different. A few of her former classmates had invited Kat to a housewarming party, one of them had just secured a post as security for a Governer's liaison in the Senate District.

One more classmate off to bigger and better things; yet here she was, "A veritable computer genius!" if her professors were to be believed. Yet still, she hadn't been picked up for any of the whopping four interviews that had remotely approached the territory of her interest. She had heard many times, though, that with her specialty, the truly great opportunities were rare. It wasn't unheard of for a prospecting young technology specialist to float around for ten or twenty years- or longer- before finding a perfect job, and many never did.

Kat hovered near the large apartment's kitchen/bar while most of the others went out to the balcony to oogle their host's new airspeeder. For a moment, the young woman wondered why she still spent time with these people, when they were all going into different career fields than her. Nostalgia could only carry one so far in life.

Then again, she remembered that there was food on the way, and Kat was not one to turn down free pizza, her prodigious allowance notwithstanding.

"Hey, Nez, when is the pizza supposed to get here?" She asked her former roommate, who was busy trying to cyberstalk their host, D'ron Needa. "Like four more minutes," the short blonde replied in an absent whisper. "Did you know he's been shopping for solar-sailers? Is that adventurous enough for you?"
"Shut up, Nez. Even if I was interested in D'ron, he has to make the first move, and in case you hadn't noticed, he's got his eyes on a different kind of tail."

Looking out at the balcony, the two humans watched as the host got flirty with a muscular Togruta guy.
"Kriff it then," the blonde shut off her datapad and stood up, "when's your next interview?"

Just then, the doorbell rang. "Must be the pizza," Kat grinned at the convenient distraction. She quickly turned and went to open the door...

When on delivery, the crew had a small slew of discount speeders they used to traverse the planet with. While cheap, they were cost efficient and bore no logos. That would make it hard for the victims of his attacks to recognize the exact pizza place. The delivery boy would whistle a pop tune as he sat atop a rusty old speeder bike and fastened a helmet to his head. "Alright, this place shouldn't be too far away... Thirty minutes should be easy enough to do..."

The man would rev the bike's engine once before taking off, into the travel lanes of the planet's sky. Traffic was especially light due to the strange silence of the night. Usually there were a few dissidents around, up to no good, but tonight there was nothing. The skies above were beautiful, and rarely seen. It was as if the planet had taken the night off. It wouldn't be long before the lone rebel would see a relatively-large building in the distance. It was the delivery site as mentioned in the order. From this point on, the mission would be simple. Deliver the 'package' and leave before it's opened. Whatever happens, he could never allow someone to open it before he left the scene. The last thing he needed was to get himself blown to bits.

The delivery boy would park several meters from the front door of the structure, and hop off his bike. There would be an obvious door bell, and simple metal door. Kaath would walk directly to the door and press the bell as one normally would. After that, he would loudly announce "Pizza delivery for an Officer D'ron." This was his usual announcement upon arrival. The real test of his deceptive abilities would be challenged by whoever answered the door...

The door swept open to reveal a man with a cardboard pizza box and a matching grin.

"I'll take that," Kat said, reaching for the box. "Only one?" She cocked and eyebrow and hummed thoughtfully. This guy must really be a cheapskate. "Oh well," she shrugged, moving to peek at the pie, "What's on it? There better not be any fruit..."

Kaath would be immediately faced with the question of why there was only one pizza. Coming up with a quick excuse was something he excelled at, but better yet; He had a second pizza explosive device on his bike. The delivery boy would scratch his head for a moment before responding with “um, actually you’re right. It seems I left one on the bike. Sorry about that, I’m new...” Kaath would quickly walk over to the speeder and pick up a second pizza from the back seat. As he was walking over the woman mentioned not liking fruit. It looked as though she was about to open it. “Hang on a minute, no fruit at all, but before you’re allowed to open it I’m going to need a signature. Proof of delivery and all.”

The man would pull out a datapad with a spot for a signature open. It appeared no different from the same thing most restaurants used. “Sorry about all the fuss, but it’s just standard procedure." The man he was instructed to deliver the pizza to was suppose to be the signer. As some bounty hunters collected heads, Kaath collected signatures. They were used as proof of assassination. In this case however, he would make an exception. "In fact, you could even sign if you'd like?"

"Hm," said Kat thoughtfully. "No problem," she decided, noting the apparent nerves of the man. He might indeed have only gotten the job recently, but his bike looked like he'd had it a while. She stared at the bike for a moment as the delivery guy retrieved the other pizza, wondering idly weather her brother's bike looked anything like it.

When he returned to the doorway, she took both boxes and handed them off to Nez and took the datapad to sign for it. "Sure, I'll take that so you can get on your way...." She quickly scrawled her name into the box he'd pointed out and returned the datapad. "Thank you... Drive safe," she offered a faux smile and wave as she shut the door.

The others at the party were already rushing the kitchen as Kat sidled past into the refresher to touch up her makeup. After pizza she was definitely going out to a club, since this party had turned out to be more of a dud than she had thought. Getting out her eyeliner, she took off her glasses and sighed a tired sigh, then scrambled to the floor as she was knocked out of her dream by a deafening explosion.

When she looked up from her fetal position, the mirror was shattered and smoke was seeping through a crack in the top of the door. Kat knew that was bad, since the door opened and shut from the top. Cursing to herself as she was now bleeding from several small cuts on her arms and face, Kat found her glasses- which were remarkably intact- and kicked the door as hard as she could. The plasteel panel broke off its tracks and flew at least a meter away, allowing more smoke into the bathroom, as well as the building's fire-alarm.

Kat coughed and covered her face with her jacket, then started to pick through the rubble on her way to the door. "Nez? D'ron? Jetta?" She called her friends' names, but stopped when she saw the wreckage in the kitchen. She didn't have any friends anymore. Not from her childhood, anyway. They were now just another list of names to add to the toll taken by the terrorists that called themselves the Rebel Alliance.

None of it made sense... What target could they have possibly wanted to hit at this stupid little housewarming party? That question still buzzed in her mind after the firemen and police finished questioning her and let her go home...

Kaath was relieved as the woman ignorantly signed her own death warrant. It would be an easier job than he had thought, as she mentioned that he should be on his way, the man would give a quick nod. The night was getting darker, and he didn't need to be around for the aftermath anyhow. His commlink would begin to buzz as his boss would contact him. "Package delivered I take it?" the rodian would ask. The human would simply smile as the sound of a heavy explosion would be heard behind him. "Taken care of..."

Deciding to flee the scene as quickly as possible, the man would jump back onto his old speeder bike and dart off into the quiet streets of Courscant. While he was tempted to leave some sort of calling card, it would only endanger the rebellion. Besides, no one would be left alive to see it...

The rest of the night would be business as usual, with Kaath receiving payment for his assassination. The next morning however, the news would mention a survivor. It was the very woman who had opened the door. She was one of the few people who now knew of the Pizza Guy's existence. If she discovered the pizzria, his cell may be in trouble, but that was a loose end for another day. It was his day off after all!
