Christophsis was an odd place and Lucian would easily admit that he didn't much care for it if he was honest. It was so industrialised but it seemed that the locals had forgotten to preserve almost anything natural about their planet.

That and the fact that on Christophsis?

You could buy anything if you had the credits.

Sure, it tried to dress it up as something more 'professional' than that but at the end of the day it was exactly the same as Nar Shaddaa or Ryloth. If you had the credits, you could buy people. You could sell their entire lives away for a handful of credits.

Indeed, it appeared that The Tongue was operating off of Christopsis for just that reason. The crime boss that he and Azar had started to uncover was operating off of this world in a very simple, and very disgusting, fashion.

    Child slavery.

Orphans had been kidnapped while their caretakers were away and he had tracked them to this warehouse district on Christophsis. He was wearing a travelling cloak over his regular armour, to help prevent him from being recognised.

But honestly it was unlikely that anyone he fought today would speak of him again - they had a tendency to bite their own tongues off after all.

    The weirdos.

Loa knew she could still do good and not have to be a Jedi, just like her Master Silas who did everything to protect her and her family and still she found him to be a good person. Her anger towards him was diminishing after his jaded remark about the Jedi, but she couldn't blame him, there was more to it than she understood currently, but a familiar trust told her everything would be fine in the end. However, now she really hope that was true because she had gotten herself in a situation which lacked any surprise to those who knew her. Having overheard about a special shipment on her way back to Chalacta, Loa discovered the horrors of child slavery. She heard of its existence, but to come across the scum who participated took things to a whole new level and Loa knew she needed to help the children.

She had picked up the coded words the slavers used which took her to a warehouse and Loa couldn't help but frown at the obviousness of a storage place. She expected better, but her standards may have been too high for outer rim scum. Unless of course, it was a front and the clues to the real location involved the warehouse. The girl sighed, crouched with her back against the wall of a neighboring building, hiding among the shadows as she reached out with her senses. Though with the overhanging gloom as that it was child slavery, there was something else, brighter, warmth...and Loa sighed with displeasure, it was a Jedi and they were close.

They were the last she wanted to see in the galaxy and now one was near; optimistically she thought they were there for something else, until she saw a figure nearby and she knew from the bottom of her gut it was them. Slowly Loa rose from her spot, her plans to get inside fluttered out of her mind as she focused on telling this Jedi go elsewhere.

Lucian was looking over the warehouse with a frown that seemed to deepen with every passing moment and every step closer he took. By all accounts this was apparently the place they were hiding some of the children but it felt... off. It felt too clean, too easy and too neat to be where they were actually being held.

Still, this was the place he actually had intel on so... He was here and he needed to go inside. As he approached he noticed a strong presence in the Force nearby but it didn't seem to be a Sith. Indeed it seemed somewhat... familiar?

It felt like he has sensed this presence before.

And then came the incredibly overt push at his mind to make him want to leave. Thankfully he was better trained than that and was able to brush the suggestion off with minimal effort while using the thought as a way to give him the general direction of the speaker.

He waved them over with one hand as he checked on the locks at the door. As he attempted to check on the locks he paused as the door seemed to recognise the attempt to open it and a secondary lock slammed into place.

    "... Force damn it."

Loa watched carefully for a moment as she observed the quiet building for any sign of guard to come mess up the Jedi's day. However, the closer she got, the more the place seemed off. There was not surveillance that she couldn't see, holocams, physical guards, proximity alarm triggers, signs of any foot traffic in the past day or so, it was unusual. More so when it seemed like the figure was unable to enter, muttering a curse under his breath as Loa slinked around the corner to the same side of the building as the Jedi, a small grin on her face, revealing in his displeasure of his failure.

The girl folded her arms, "Having a hard time, Jedi?" she swiftly accused of his alliance with the Order, though she didn't wait for him to reply, "Don't you think this place is a little odd?" she asked him, her senses reaching outward, "I think its a trap." she mumbled and raised her eyebrows, "But, I got this," she waved at him to go away, "I'll handle this, you can go back to your Order and busy yourselves in doing nothing for the rest of the galaxy." she sharply spoke, her eyes narrowed with distrust and hit of even disgust to having need to speak to him.

However, her attention turned back to the warehouse as they would be interrupted by a loud crash of metal against metal, followed by the sounds of a scream and low grumbles of perturbed beings most likely trying to make better sense of it all. Without giving much thought, Loa backed up and jump, grasping onto a window sill low enough to see inside. Though now to her disappointment, no one has washed the windows in ages and she dropped down to the ground, looking agitated, "Well, use your saber and make a door!" she snapped.

... was this small child trying to sass him?

He looked at the girl for a moment and really looked at her before deciding that yes, this small child was trying to sass him while he was attempting to hunt down a dangerous criminal. This was a rather surreal encounter already.

"Shouldn't you be back in school little girl?" he asked her with a raised eyebrow before smiling indulgently, "Of course it's odd - it's a trap after all."

This whole thing reeked of a trap but the thing about traps was that if you sprung them when you were in control, they trapped the enemies rather than you. Hopefully that was how this was going to play out. Hearing the scream inside, his eyes narrowed before he sighed a little bit and pulled his lightsaber out, igniting the blade with a flourish.

    "Stand away from the door."

Slashing through the door's locks and hinges, Lucian took a step back and thrust his hand forwards - sending a Force push at the door that sent it flying into the warehouse itself. He narrowed his eyes as he drew his pistol in his free hand, the screaming continuing but beginning to noticeably sound rather synthetic. Almost immediately it was revealed why.

The screaming was being broadcast through the speakers of one of three droids - three T100 Enforcer Droids that whirl around to meet them.

Using the Force, Lucian lifted the heavy metal door back up in front of him as a shield and the blaster bolts from the droids were thankfully blocked entirely by the makeshift shield. Lucian moved the shield slightly to fire with his blaster pistol four times, three of which hit one of the droids in the head, which exploded and made the droid unresponsive. The other two however, moved closer, pushing him further back out of the warehouse through sheer power.

Alright, it seemed like springing the trap had been a bad idea.

Loa grinned as the Jedi took out his saber and decided to make the door open for him. With the familiar snap-hiss and a wave of jealously that he had a saber and she had yet to be able to make one, Loa stepped backwards and watched as he blasted open the door. She totally could have done that, if she had a light saber of her own.

Though something didn't feel right to the girl as she too realized the screaming was almost artificial and the whirl of the droids turning to greet them made all the more sense. The Jedi had pulled his blaster, firing at one of the droids, but that left the other two to begin forcing the two back outside, but Loa wasn't going to let that happen. The Force was still her ally as she called upon it swiftly, her speed unmatched as she darted out from behind Lucian, quickly taking cover behind storage crates; her speed though was still caught by one of the Enforcer droids, drawing it away from Lucian as it unleashed a hailstorm of blaster fire at the crates where it saw the girl dive for cover.

Loa instantly regretted not having a follow up plan as the droid took to her path, blasting crates, letting splinters of wood explode in the split second of where Loa had last stepped. The Force carried her steps as she drew the droid further away from Lucian. The girl pulled her own blaster and slid out from her cover, relying on instinct, Loa fired three consecutive shots at the droid's head, rendering it ineffective and probably the most valuable piece of scrape metal she would ever see.

With another droid down, she guess she could see how the Jedi was doing...

It seemed that the sassy child was a good shot as well as being sassy as all hell.

Well, wonders would never cease it seemed.

Deciding that it was time for him to get rid of the final droid, he was rather pleased to note that it was the one that had the screaming coming from it. Shaking his head, he used the Force to send the door flying at the droid at high speeds. The attack succeeded, pushing the droid into a nearby wall and stunning it's processor long enough for him to approach, slashing through it's arms with his lightsaber before severing the top half from the bottom half.

The remains of the droid were still functioning but were doing so without actually having any weapons with which to harm them. Lucian glanced at the kid,

"You alright little girl?" he asked her before raising an eyebrow, "You were a pretty good shot back there."

He'd heard that children responded well to compliments.

Cautiously inching her way around the droid, she saw the Jedi finish the last droid with his lightsaber, dismantling into unorganized pieces. She stared for a moment at the glowing red metal before glancing at the Jedi who called her "little girl" and a scowl formed on her face until he backed it up with a compliment. Loa was uncertain how to process that as she stood there slightly dumbfounded, though becoming aware of how she looked, the girl recovered.

"Yeah, well, it's not hard to shoot." she told him with a slight inflection of her tone, which most would describe as "attitude". The girl turned on her heel and ventured further inside the warehouse, confused by the set-up, she wanted to know where the other children were and why someone would say they were here. Perhaps they knew the Jedi would have heard. There was a nice bounty on their heads by nearly everyone in the galaxy. Loa glanced over her shoulder, seeing if the Jedi was following; a part of her hoped he was, her gut told her she may have been in over her head. Though Loa would never admit that out loud.

The place was like a maze and she knew she wasn't going to find anything quick just wandering the warehouse. "This place is ridiculous..." she mumbled, but made sure it was loud enough for the Jedi to hear. Pausing, she glanced around, picking her target and quickly ascended on top of a crate stack; Loa slowly looked around, the place was barren except for the crates.

"Jedi!" she whispered, spotting a large hatched door and quickly climbed down, "There is a large hatched door over there." she said pointing vaguely in the direction and lead the way.

Seemed that the little girl was looking a little bit annoyed at him - he ignored it easily enough. She was young enough that she was probably at that "I'm not young!" stage of her life that most younger people went through at least once in their lives. He couldn't help the light smirk that came at her almost defensive attitude, her voice changing slightly with her change in emotion, which amused him a little bit more than it probably should have.

"Just take the compliment kid." he told her with a playful roll of his eyes, "Keeps the atmosphere light and breezy."

Which was better than letting the alternative set in, because it would. The children weren't here and their screams were being broadcast through a battle droid. This was... well it was appalling was what it was and if he wasn't careful he would start to focus on that and he knew that focusing on the darker side of things wasn't the best option.

    That way lay the darkness.

Following the kid, he frowned slightly at the rather maze-like interior this building seemed to have. It was huge and it was beyond the scope of what he thought made sense if he was being honest with himself. Hearing her calling out to him, he nodded and took off after her,

"I'm beginning to get a bad feeling about this place."

Hurrying after her, he climbed down as well, taking hold of her shoulder to stop her from going any further forwards as he couldn't help but notice that there were more narrow corridors down here on this level as well. In the distance, echoing off the walls, were the distant cries of children in distress.

He stopped her because he couldn't help but notice that there were no other sounds.

He leaned in close and whispered into her ear,

"Ambush waiting for us..." he told her softly, "Reload and take my second pistol if you think you need a second weapon."

He carried two pistols so he would arm himself with one in his off hand with his lightsaber in his dominant hand still.

Loa felt the Jedi place a hand on her shoulder, preventing her from moving further into the complex. She felt the chill zigzag up her spine, sending a chill back down her limbs as she reached out with her senses. A bad feeling was an understatement, there was the faintest echo of children that bounce off the walls to their present location. The Jedi spoke of an ambush and she couldn't disagree; the girl checked her blaster, but didn't take the Jedi's second blaster, she had the Force, and was certain it would be more than enough to take on whatever waited them.

She cautiously entered the hall along with the Jedi, keeping her senses tuned into her surroundings, waiting for the moment when the slavers would make their move as they walked into the trap. Though she didn't understand why it had to be so dark minus the occasional illuminator that seemed to light up a corner. The girl felt herself become annoyed, she could hear the cries from the children, but it seemed like this place was purposely built to confuse trespassers. Loa glanced at the Jedi's weapon; if she had one, she would absolutely make her own doors. However, lost in her thoughts, she stumbled into a pile of durasteel cages, creating a racket that echoed down the halls. Loa froze in place, teeth gritting as she tried to believe what had happened didn't.

Carefully, she stepped over the cages and regained her footing while hearing the thundering footing of those who were waiting for the two to approach, four in all, blasters at hand.

Lucian had been beginning to think that the kid was a competent little sleuth and then she had gone and alerted all of the guards that they were here and suddenly this wasn't tripping the ambush in a controlled manner - this was being stuck in the middle of an ambush.

He would have been annoyed but... well... she was a kid.

Kids tended to make mistakes - it was just up to him as the responsible adult to try and salvage the situation so that they didn't end up dead in this ambush.

With his lightsaber ignited, Lucian was the main target and the men fired on him as soon as they were close enough - Lucian was able to deflect two of the three shots away, even hitting one of them in the leg, but one shot got past his blade and slammed into the armour of his chest.

It hurt like hells but it wasn't going to kill him.

Hopefully the kid could take advantage of the majority of them spending their efforts on him instead of her.

Loa was really hoping no one heard, that wish from the regret she felt knowing she just let the whole place know they were there and how far they had made it inside. As the footsteps neared, she nearly stumbled over again in a rush to get back to Lucian's side, but didn't dare look at him as her face was bright red and instead held her blaster ready.

The thugs begun firing at Lucian and Loa pulled on the Force to focus and returned fire to the men, her shots landing their mark on one of them and Lucian's returned bolt hitting one in the leg. However, she heard the grunt from Lucian as he had been struck by a bolt in his armor. Noting that they had gotten the Jedi, and the kid took down one of their own, they grabbed their wounded man by the collar dragging him around the corner and leaving the dead. Loa stepped forward, but stopped, remembering to keep her impulsiveness in check, she wasn't going to help the children if she ended up dead.

However, they weren't entirely gone as one peeked from around the corner firing at the duo, immediately Loa reached out with the Force and hoping Lucian would continue his defense, gripped the man's wrist and yanked him into the adjacent corner of the hall with an indistinguishable CRACK of bone.

The girl inhaled deeply, feeling the cold chill of darkness luring her to press further, but instead, she looked at Lucian, "How many more you think there are?" she whispered, waiting for him to lead onward.

Lucian had been shot a few times in his life but every time he had been shot he had been wearing armour so he hadn't received any life threatening injuries from being shot. Indeed, he was able to continue defending himself admirably and nothing further came through his defences but still... it didn't half hurt.

They were fought off for the moment and Lucian took a moment to lean against a nearby wall, muttering under his breath a few curse words as he looked down at the blaster bolt impact point. The armour was burnt off, exposing his chest. The burning armour had done a number on his chest as well, sticking to his burnt skin doggedly.

That was going to hurt to remove later.

He reached out with the Force, looking for emotions, and found a small cluster.

"Three." he reported to the kid with a small smile, "We can handle three more before we get to the kids right?"

    He hoped so.

She watched him with worry and concern as he examined his wound, just by his own expression it was not a nice sight to behold and hoped to never find herself. A part of her wanted to offer him help, but the other was still riddled with the anger she had towards the Jedi currently she chose instead to keep quiet and to herself. Besides, her focus was the children being held captive and he was an adult, probably a Knight, if not a Master who could take care of himself fairly well. She raised her eyebrows slightly surprised that there were only three left. She tried to hold back a smile but was unsuccessful and grinned back.

Readying her pistol, she nodded her head, waiting for the Jedi to join her, "One for me, one for you, one to share?" she said as she begun to gather the Force to her, readying against the fight that was going to come before they reached the children. Loa's senses reached out, placing her trust in the Force; her eyes traced the broken line of blood from the wounded thug, "One of the three are not doing too well..." she whispered.

The hall with the trail lead them to a large hanger with a ship; the children were still in their steel cages, but were silent, unlike the cries they had heard earlier and Loa's brow furrowed as she didn't see any sign of the thugs. It was certainly a trap and she had the feeling they would come in from behind or overhead from the overhang bridges that criss-crossed along the ceiling. Loa glanced up at the Jedi, her features hardened as she cautiously pursued inside, blaster raised and sure enough blaster fire rained down from overhead.

The thugs revealed themselves from the shadows taking quick aim at the Jedi; Loa found cover behind a loaded cargo trolley. She aimed from behind in the direction of the shots, trying to direct some of the fire to herself and heard a cry out in annoyance as she seemed to be successful. Slightly proud to have slowed them up on the Jedi, it was enough of a moment for them to turn their fire on her, cutting a deep burn through her right upper arm. Loa gasped in the pain as she stumbled backwards; she heard the thugs yelling about the Jedi and someone to get down where they were, but the pain was almost blinding, she'd never felt anything like it in her life and perfered the whack of Master' Silas's staff to this. She didn't remember when she sat down, but she steadied her breath, watching as one of the thugs headed toward her direction.

One of the enemies was injured?

Fantastic - that was actually a spot of good luck for once and Lucian would be the first to admit that, as a Jedi, he was kind of starved for that right now. Sure, there was no luck... but it didn't seem like the Force was very much with them right now either. Taking a deep breath, he nodded to her.

"Then I'll take one of the healthy guards and the injured one."

He was, after all, the trained Jedi out of the two of them so he should probably do the majority of the 'heavy lifting'. Striding forwards, he nodded to Isola as he held his blaster and lightsaber at the ready, moving into the hanger and the clear trap.

Best to spring the trap quick, try and catch them still slightly unprepared.

Unfortunately, they still managed to get him by surprise and his shots from his blaster pistol missed their mark and his diverted attention meant that one of them was able to get a hit in on Isola. Cursing, he switched to the defensive, stepping closer to the girl and dropping his blaster pistol to the ground to better deflect blaster bolts with his lightsaber.

Defending? Defending went a lot better. He was able to not only deflect bolts away from himself and Isola but even managed to deflect one shot just right so that it slammed into the throat of the man advancing on her, killing him instantly and dropping their numbers down to two.

Loa's eyes widened as a blaster bolt burned through the thugs neck, his body dropped in front of her and she felt a moment of relief, but recalled they were not done yet. She grimaced through the pain, reaching for her blaster and aimed it to the overpass, releasing several bolts at one of the thugs as she tried to get a lead on the creep, however, missed entirely, but hit several pressurized pipes.

As the third bolt burned through the pipes, a loud explosion followed, blowing fire and heat over head Loa and Lucien would have the advantage of taking cover behind structures, however, the children who were still exposed to the firefight and now the ash and heat the rained down on them. Loa had instinctively ducked, protecting her head from any larger pieces, but the screams of the children were different, now some were of agony and Loa felt her gut sink. She felt all her pain disappear as she now ached to free the children from their steel prisons. There was no more blaster fire coming from up above and Loa hoped the two goons were caught in the blaster as she ran in between the debris and flames in order to set the children free.

"Hold on, I'm going to get you out." she told them as she quickly looked for locks, pausing as she came to the crate that held the children nearest to the explosion, their charred bodies laying lifeless. She could hear the burning accusations of always being the one to mess things up, but the cries of the kids turned Loa's attention as she pulled on the energies of the Force to scramble the locks and releasing the door latches.

"C'along, we'll get you to somewhere safe." she told them, herding the small group to where her and Lucien had entered.

Gods be good - the children!

He didn't have any time to waste and he knew that so he moved out of cover with Isola, keeping her close to him so that he was still able to protect her. One of the first things he had learned in the military was that you saved yourself first because without saving yourself, you have no chance of saving anyone else. With that in mind, he put himself between Isola and the two attackers, using his lightsaber to defend.

He was able to deflect the blaster bolts coming in just fine but none of the bolts he was hitting away went back towards the enemy at all. Cursing under his breath, he looked at the pipes that Isola had hit.

There was one that she hadn't hit at all...

Using the Force, he tore the pipe from the ceiling and threw it at both of the two remaining thugs, hitting them both clean in the head and sending them tumbling to the ground below. Unfortunately the steam escaped and had only one direction to go - Lucian used his cloak to shield both himself and Isola but he still grimaced as the heat burned at the back of his neck.

    "Are they ready to go?"
