Jaycob forcefully shoved himself into the vent while laying down more cover fire at the same time. He wasn't oblivious to the sign of affection that his wingman just showed. You didn't have to be a Jedi to sense the weird attraction the two shared. But for the better of the mission, he decided to just ignore it. There was something familiar about it, though Jaycob couldn't put his finger on it. Maybe because their relationship reminded him of what he had with Tallie. Which only made him want to go back and retrieve his "wrist" even more.

"I'm sick of crawling around in these damn rat tunnels. We need to reach the entrance."

Jaycob spoke quietly as he sparked his last flare. The tunnel seemed like it led on forever, but if Asha was as determined to get off Dathomir as he was, she'd have no trouble finding the quickest way back.

"You two need to reach the ship and send a signal to the Resistance that this base is compromised. We cannot risk them sending more people here in the form of a rescue party. While you do that, I'm gonna double-back to where we came and get my gauntlet. We'll rendezvous at the shuttle. Deal?"

Jaycob knew the odds of coming back was close to nonexistent, but he had to try. The device meant the world to him, not just because of it's functionality, but because of what was stored inside. He wouldn't give it up. He wouldn't give her up.

Priah seemingly materialized out of the shadows, the expression on her face saying everything that needed to be said. After being separated from her squadmates, she had done her best to follow after them but had lost them after a certain point. Left to wander alone through the caves, she had lost her rifle but her pistol with grasped tightly in one hand. Her face lit up as Jaycob lit up his flare and she raised her aim to shied her from the sudden light. Making an annoyed sound with her tongue, she held out the device held in her other hand.

"Is this what you were looking for?" She asked in a clipped tone, holding out Jaycobs gauntlet to the male. The woman honestly looked horrible. Her clothing was torn, there was dried blood from a wound on her forehead and her left eye was swollen shut and black but she was alive. It had actually been somewhat easier for her to survive since them, since they had been making so much noise. She eyed the pink skinned woman and then Jon'kil, nodding at him. "Thanks for knocking me out of harms way earlier. I managed to scramble to a spot where they couldn't see me. I tried to follow you all, but I lost you in the shadows and have been wandering aimlessly." The woman scowled. "I told you all there was a reason that the First Order and Empire had classified records about this kriffing planet." Letting out a bark of laughter, she shook her head in disbelief before speaking again. "Whatever your plan is to get out of here, lets hurry up and get to it. Since you don't need to go back and play heroes errand anymore, it should be easier for four of us to get out instead of just two."

Jon'Kil entered the tunnel behind Jaycob, his rifle ready to fill any creature that got in their way with blaster holes. As Jaycob's flare lit up the space in front of them, the Chiss pilot almost shot Priah in the face, but luckily realized it was her before his finger pulled the trigger. Even better was the fact that the former First Order officer had his friend's gauntlet, saving the time of going back for it, and probably his life. As she addressed him, the Chiss simply responded,

"No problem, in the Resistance we look after each other; every life is important. Nobody's expendable like in the First Order."

As the group continued on through the tunnel, Jon'Kil took the rear guard. He barely noticed his broken ankle, as he was running on pure adrenaline at the moment. As they got closer to the exit, he also noticed his bright red eyes kept lingering on Asha; he hoped she'd come with them after escaping this place.

Asha had heard the footsteps in the darkness and instinctively drew her multitool, about to lunge forward and immediately disarming her intentions as the source was revealed to be a woman. This was their other, the one that had gone missing. And it looked like she just saved Jaycob's life, the gauntlet held in her hand and a look in her eyes that said everything about what she'd just been through. The Zeltron took a step forward and nodded to the new woman, reaching out with a hand to check her wounds before shaking her head.

"I hope there's better medical supplies on the ship that you have, we're all fairly injured one way or another."

She continued walking until they reached an exit not far from the entrance, peeking out before nodding to the rest of the group as she slipped outside, having ignored the many stares from Jon'kil. She also tried to ignore the feeling she had for him. That had to be explored...later. If there was one. It was so surreal to her that she would finally be able to get out of here. See the sun again. Hell, be able to stand up straight.

    The hope was unimaginably glorious.

Jaycob looked in utter shock as his crew member “rose from the dead”. He needed time to process what exactly was in front of him. Was his mind playing tricks on him? Was he hallucinating? Nope. Priah was actually in front of him, extending her hand. But what was in her hand was even more shocking. His gauntlet.

Jaycob’s eyes got real wide as he reached for it.

My...wrist! How did you find it? How are you still alive? Are there still a lot of them left? How did you find us?

Question after question was shot rapid-fire out of Jaycob’s mouth, not giving Priah enough time to answer in between. But as soon as Jaycob took the gauntlet into his hands, he shut right up. He attached it to his left forearm and tested out all the buttons and dials to make sure they were still in working condition. As he was doing so, he had only one question left.

    You didn’t open it right?

But he quickly dismissed it, as he suddenly realized the situation they were still in was more important. He shook his head and said,

    Who cares? Let’s get moving.

Priah opened her mouth to reply to all of Jaycobs questions, but slowly closed it once more after he told her not to worry. Shrugging slightly, she winced and cast a glare at her shoulder where a particularly painful gash remained. This was definitely not a good day for the former First Order officer and she was starting to wonder if perhaps staying with the objectively evil organization would have been the better options. She certainly wouldn't be dealing with something as disgusting as this planet.

"By all means, lead the way."

Jon'Kil followed Jaycob closely, a rifle at the ready as he half-dragged his right leg behind him. As the group moved through the tunnels, the Chiss' mind began to wonder into the past again. He was remembering the Resistance escape to Crait. He'd been piloting a transport after participating in Poe's botched mutiny, where he'd reunited with Jaycob over the comms. However, before Admiral Holdo's sacrifice, his transport had been struck by debris from a destroyed transport and critically damaged. Due to this, his transport had crashed a few kilometers from where the Resistance made there last stand and escape. Only about a dozen had survived the crash, and the Chiss blamed himself for the others' deaths. He figured that perhaps his urge to protect Asha might have something to do with that.

Jon'Kil was ripped back to the present as Jaycob stopped in front of him, signalling that they'd reached the end of the tunnel. Peering over his shoulder, his red eyes adjusted to the small amount of light coming from the entrance where they'd come in. However, a grate in front of the tunnel still blocked their path to the main area, and the entrance could still be overrun by the spider-creatures.

Asha trailed right behind Jon'kil as they began reaching the end of the tunnel, breathing a sigh of relief. She absolutely couldn't believe that they were almost out of this damned place. Months...years...how long had it been since she had looked at herself in a mirror. Much had changed, surely. A few more scars, maybe she was missing a couple teeth...it was a dreadful thought, but being free from this hell was so much better than being strapped down in the depths of the base.

She looked at the two people that had saved her, now three in hindsight, and then back at the tunnel. So many people lost...so many, many people gone. Maybe even a part of her was still down there, wrapped up in a Gaper cocoon. Her friend certainly was...

But now, at least, she had new ones. Well, maybe a bit more than just a friend.

It wasn't a surprise that Jaycob had to take charge...again. Luckily, it was almost over. Him and his crew were badly beaten, almost to death. What was supposed to be a simple recon op turned into something way uglier.

Asha, looked absolutely terrible. She had bags under her eyes, dirt everywhere, and a nasty gash that not even bacta could fix in one dose. But, even through the layers of sweat, blood, and tears, Jaycob could still see how determined she was on getting off world.

Jon'Kil was a complete mess. Jaycob's wingman could barely walk on his own two feet. He could tell that he's never experienced anything like this before. Constantly fearing if they'd make it out alive or not, seeing Gapers at every twist and turn. He didn't show it on the outside, but he was scared.

Priah, looked like she went through Hell and back. Bruised and bloodied, he was astounded that she had even made it out alive. And for her to gather the courage to push forward and find the group in this environment, was admirable. Maybe Jaycob was wrong about her this whole time, she definitely wasn't FO.

Jaycob slid the grate in front of him as quietly as he could while scanning his surroundings. Somehow, the group had made it back to the primary corridor they entered from. The sun was gone, and the landscape outside Ominous was foggy and pitch black. Jaycob powered on his "wrist" and searched for the signal that would lead them back to the transport.

"Thank the Force! I've found the ship!"

He said as the pinging of his computer echoed through the night. Extending the boarding ramp, Jaycob darted to the cockpit to warm up the ship. He ignored the small stings of pain coming from all over his body as he ascended quickly off of the ground. Plugging in his wrist to the transport, a small static voice came through the comms.

"Jaycob? Jaycob can you read me? Where the hell have you been? We've just sent a search party for you."

It was Poe, confirming Jaycob's fear from the beginning. The search party was sent, but fortunately they weren't close. He thought maybe he could save another squad from the terrors they've faced.

"I know Poe, I'm sorry. It's a long story and I swear I will explain everything. But call back the rescue squad. I repeat do not send anyone to the surface of Dathomir!"

"Alright alright! We've ordered them to retreat back to base. Now, just get your ass to Yavin."

    "Copy that General."
