    Dathomir
It's been roughly a couple days since the Resistance barely escaped from the salty planet of Crait. The battle was gruesome and the rebels took heavy losses. The remaining forces that had survived the carnage escaped aboard the Millennium Falcon thanks to a mysterious force-sensitive girl and a Wookie. The Resistance knew Chewbacca well, but the girl had been a rumor.

Once in orbit, Poe dispatched a rag-tag fire team to branch off and investigate the very helpful, so-called, allies that should have assisted during the battle. Among them was Jaycob Flesio, one of the lucky pilots that survived the Battle of Starkiller Base and now led White Squadron, a group of experimental B-Wing Mark 2 fighters that was responsible for crippling the Mandator IV-class Siege Dreadnought's defenses during the Evacuation of D'Qar.

Jaycob and company were dispatched a basic Slayn & Korpil transport that was customized with a class-1 hyperdrive and an R-9X heavy laser cannon. The mission was simple, fly to Dathomir and find a reason why nobody came to the aid of the Resistance when they needed it most. Since the cockpit was just an armored B-wing Mark 2 module, Jaycob was at the helm.

The crew emerged from hyperspace and were approaching the Quelli sector...

"Look alive guys, Dathomir is coming into sight. Ugh, looks just as ugly as it sounds. I'll start the landing sequence."

Jaycob said, pressing numerous buttons as if were of second nature. He set the sequence to auto-pilot to give him and the crew some time to look over their (limited) equipment. Jaycob's arsenal consisted of only a Glie-44 blaster pistol, his flight suit and helmet, concluding with a personal wrist-mounted computer. He hoped that his crew-mates would be the ones carrying the big guns, just in case there was any First Order presence on the surface.

"You guys good to go? Keep an eye out for any FO."

Keij'onki'lodhu was a young Chiss, more commonly called Jon'Kil, and a relatively recent addition to the Resistsnce. His father had been a Mandalorian warrior who fought the Empire, but had later met an Imperial officer whom he married and had a child with. His father had later died, adn Jon'Kil grew up in the Unknown Regions with the First Order. About 2 months before the destruction of Starkiller Base, the Special Forces TIE pilot had discovered the true purpose of the massive weapon. Unwilling to be part of an organization that would destroy so much innocent life, Jon'Kil defected to the Resistance. For this mission, he carried his EL-16HFE blaster rifle, just in case he and the rest of the group met any First Order agents on Dathomir. Replying to Jaycob, he said,

"Ready to go when you guys are. Let's hope our supposed 'allies' aren't all dead."

    The Resistance had fallen.

It was the truth, a cold hard fact. None of their allies had come to save them on Crait and Priah Vintalli couldn't help but believe it was because nobody believed in their cause anymore. But to those on the surface of the planet, who had seen what she had seen, it wasn't over. Luke Skywalker had arrived, faced down the First Order alone with his laser sword and given them time to escape. Then there was the girl, Rey, who used some mystical ability to clear the path of rocks and the wookie pilot who had accompanied her to rescue them. Before that day, she had only heard stories about the Force but never truly believed them. It had just been superstition. Not anymore of course. Skywalker and Rey's display of their abilities had given the handful of Resistance fighters left on the Millennium Falcon a key element that would make them continue to press on.

    Hope.

Priah had not known what Hope meant before she joined the Resistance, well not in it's proper meaning. As an Officer under General Armitage Hux within the First Order Military Command, she had been devoted to their cause. Hope wasn't a driving force to keep people going, it was a nuisance that inspired needless rebellion against this greater purpose. The cause had seemed noble, to restore a sense of security and enforced peace to the Galaxy. They weren't like the Empire, who used terrible weapons like the Death Star to wipe out innocents for no reason other than a show of force. To her, the First Order had been a necessary evil to root out the remaining corruption in the Galaxy and unite it under a single banner. Yes they killed those who resisted them without a moments hesitation but those deaths were simply a means to an end. The worlds under the First Orders control were not oppressed, they were simply being shown the correct way with a little armed persuasion. And the massive ships they created such as the Supreme Leaders Mega-Class Star Destroyer and several heavily armed Dreadnoughts were only used in response to the increasingly violent displays by Leia Organas horrid Resistance.

    Then Starkiller Base was revealed.

Before it's true purpose was revealed to the Officers and then Soldiers of the First Order, Starkiller Base had been sold to them as an actual planetary base. Heavily armed to fight off any attempts at invasion and shielded with only the most high tech shielding available. It was a defensive location, said to be the future seat from which Supreme Leader Snoke would rule the Galaxy. Aside from the Supreme Leader, only General Hux, Captain Phasma, Captain Canady and the dark assassin Kylo Ren had known of the planets true purpose. To serve as a Star System killing super weapon, no better than the Death Star. As Priah had first approached the planet aboard her Star Destroyer Restoration, she masked her horror well. The canon that took up a good portion of the planets surface made the message of subjugation and fear clear to her. She knew she could not be a part of that. Her entire picture of what the First Order had been shattered and she quickly formulated a plan.

She knew that some of those under her supported her ideals and would not be a part of it. As the Restoration drew closer to Starkiller Base, she had gone about gathering these people together and moving to the hanger where her personal shuttle awaited. As the party approached the shuttle, they were blocked by a group of Stormtroopers who informed them that Priah's second in command had assumed control and that they were to execute them for desertion. In the resulting firefight, most of Priahs allies fell. If not for many of of them using their own bodies to shield her, Priah would have also fallen but somehow managed to get aboard her shuttle and escape into space completely alone. She hit a random set of co-ordinates and blasted into Hyperspace before they could shoot her down. When she eventually found Resistance members, she was taken before General Organa and informed her of the base and what she believed it could do. A few days later, the Republic was wiped out by the weapon and only hours later Starkiller Base was destroyed through the efforts of Resistance Heroes Poe Dameron and Finn, another defected First Order soldier.

And now here she was, only a week later on board a single modified shuttle with two Resistance soldiers on a desperate mission to find their outer rim allies. She had abandoned her First Order Captain Uniform for a more comfortable attire consisting of fitted black pants and a baggy dull yellow jacket with several pockets over a white sleeveless shirt and brown combat boots. Holstered on her left thigh was her SE-44C Blaster Pistol from her First Order Service and slung over her right shoulder by a strap was a stolen F-11D Blaster Rifle looted from a Storm Trooper. She had shaved her blond hair down to near non-existence and her keen blue eyes were narrowed slightly as she considered the magnitude of their mission. Back in the First Order, this was the type of thing she would have left to lower class Storm Troopers or Spies.

"I doubt the First Order will be on this planet. But I suppose anything is possible." Priah stated, her tone clipped and crisp like all First Order Officers. "We should be cautious on this planet. The records of this planet were highly classified in the databanks recovered from the Empire and likely for good reason.

Jaycob hadn't been given much background on his teammates prior to the mission. He just knew that Poe had tasked him this mission personally and told him that he would be sending two others to tag along. The whole group barely got to exchange names before they were forced into the transport and sent away. The Resistance had a long journey ahead towards rebuilding.

As the shuttle landed, Jaycob turned on all necessary security protocols to ensure whoever was on this planet didn't think of stealing their only ride out. From his studies, Jaycob knew very little about Dathomir. He knew that a band of magic-casting witches, known as the Nightsisters, used to dwell on this planet during the Clone Wars. But that was long ago. The ancient cult doesn't seem to exist anymore and the planet is mainly used as a hideout and Resistance outpost in the Outer Rim.

He took the word of Priah's as the truth and holstered his weapon. Taking out his data pad, Jaycob began walking into the red mist. Various sounds of the wind, the planets native species of wildlife, and the crew's footsteps behind him, flooded Jaycob's ears. They were looking for an older Rebel outpost, not older than Crait, that should have been hidden from the Empire-turned-First Order.

"It seems that the base is this way." Jaycob told the group, pointing East. The data pad showed an outdated map of the immediate area with very little detail. Using his instincts, Jaycob suggested it would be 1.5-mile walk to get there. The base itself wasn't supposed to be very big, housing around only 1 squadron of X-Wings. The barracks, mess hall, and armory weren't state of the art either. The name of the base was, Ominous, most likely taking after the feeling one gets while walking through the mist.

While walking, Jaycob decided to get to know a little bit more about who he was working with.

"We're going to be walking for a while so, why don't we get to know each other a little better?" He suggested. Jaycob was curious to know the background of these freedom fighters and how they ended up in the Resistance in the first place.

"I'll go first. I joined the Resistance movement after the de-militarization act of the Republic. I heard General Leia was putting together a force that would stop any potential threat that might arise from the Empire's shadow. I was fairly young when I joined, barely trained with any sort of combat skill. But, I was one hell of a pilot. At least that's what Poe told me anyway. I learned to fly small ships back home, qualifying in races and what not. Anyways, I was recruited into the Resistance as a pilot and I've been used as such. The Resistance has sent me on numerous recon missions to different systems, looking for potential help or good places to build a base. But, my first real mission came during the Battle of Starkiller Base. With very little organization, my squad, Blue at the time, and Black squad attacked the thermal oscillator of the planet in hopes of de-stabalizing the damn thing. Blah blah blah, you probably already know how that ended up. Thought the coast was clear after that but no. The FO followed us right back to D'Qar, and we had to leave." Jaycob paused to look up from his data pad and scan his surroundings. Then he continued,

"Once, we got back to D'Qar, we didn’t have much time before the whole operation was getting packed up into transports for evacuation. We also had a couple of the newcomers like Tallie and others join the pilot ranks since we lost so many during Starkiller." Jaycob's eyes shifted downward gloomily. A tear started to form, but he wiped it away before anyone could notice.

"I ended up handing over my leader's position of Blue Squad to Tallie and I ended up with White Squad. The switch from A-wing to B-wing wasn't too difficult. And that's about it." Jaycob concluded, making sure not to open up too much to his "crew". Jaycob almost got lost in his tangents that he was oblivious to the fact that they started walking the wrong way. Jaycob re-aligned the course and kept stride.

After Jaycob spoke his piece, Jon'Kil debated what to say. The whole part about growing up in the First Order to a dead Mandalorian father and an Imperial officer mother wasn't a great way to gain trust among people whose numbers had been reduced to the amount able to fit in a medium sized freighter by the organization you used to work for a grew up in. Hell, a few months ago the Chiss would've opened fire on them without a second thought.

Eventually, he decided to just go with the basics.

"My full name is Keij'onki'lodhu Vizsla-Pryor, but you may call me Jon'Kil. I used to fly a special forces TIE fighter for the First Order, but that was before Starkiller Base. Now I fly X-Wings and do recon missions for the Resistance. I flew with Black Squadron at the Battle of Starkiller Base; barely made it out alive."

"I was actually part of Poe Dameron's attempt to save the Raddus before Crait; got stunned by Admiral Holdo's group though. I thought what she did was much braver than I originally gave her credit for. Anyways, enough from me; I don't matter that much."

Priah listened to her squad mates stories quietly as they walked through the mist filled forest, making sure to stay on alert at all times. She was quite honestly no soldier, trained to be a leader of men and not the person taking orders. But she knew how to fire a blaster and was damn sure not falling on a backwater planet like this. No matter the superstition that surrounded it. Tightening her grip on the rifle slung around her shoulder, she realized the other two had already finished their stories of who they were and how they got there.

Jaycob was a pilot, someone who voluntarily joined the Resistance.
Jon'kil was another pilot, a traitor to the First Order like herself.
What exactly was she supposed to say?

"My full name is Priah Kaydine Vintalli. I am the third child of two former Imperial Loyalists." She spoke clearly and crisply as usual, keeping her eyes forward on the muggy area before her. "Under the command of General Hux, I was the Captain of the Star Destroyer Restoration and a loyal follower of the cause of the First Order. I had engaged the Resistance several times throughout my career before my defection and had always felt what I did was the correct thing to do. Like you Jon'kil, Starkiller Base changed my way of thinking."

"General Organna was kind enough to take me in and I gave her what knowledge I had of the station."
Priah let out a humorless chuckle. "I had originally been told it was to be a defensive base, not a weapon of Galactic Level Destruction. I remained behind with her while the attack was carried out and was then sent away to gather intel on the remaining Republic Loyalists in order to have the General restore the Senate and to convince some of those I knew personally in the First Order to defect. And now I'm here."

She had tried to remain as vague as possible while not leaving out the important details. It didn't matter to her if they knew of her position in the First Order. She would never be a part of the tyrannical juggarnought again, especially now that the psychotic Force User Kylo Ren now reigned over them.

Taking these replies in, Jaycob had mixed feelings. He knew of Jon'Kil and served with him during both the assault on Starkiller Base and the evacuation of the Resistance base on D'Qar. However, what he didn't know was that he used to serve under the First Order. Knowing that Priah also used to serve under them, gave him a sick feeling in his stomach. Now, a wave of suspicion washed over Jaycob as they approached the base, Ominous. He thought of letting Jon'Kil slide since he fought well during recent battles, and was a truly gifted pilot that he didn't want to be on the bad side of. On the other hand, Priah would stay in his line of sight the entire time.

The base was quiet and foggy. The X-Wings were stripped of their armor and left as skeletons. There was no sign of life around the perimeter of the base and Jaycob was skeptical about entering.

"I have a bad feeling about this..." He murmured. Putting away the data pad, he took a signal flare from his suit and unholstered his weapon. He sparked the flare and threw it towards the dark, opened blast door leading into the base. The hallway lit up only about half of the way through, leaving the rest of it pitch-black.

"Alright, who's first?" He joked, laying his eyes on Priah.

Jon'Kil listened to Priah's story with mixed feelings. Being a First Order defector himself, he felt a wave of sympathy for the woman, but given how recently she had defected and that she was higher in the command chain lent itself to suspicion. A normal soldier defecting was a lot more believable than a Captain on a Star Destroyer; you didn't get to that position by having doubts about your loyalty. Regardless, the Chiss decided to give her a chance, but wouldn't hesitate to do what needed to be done if she were to turn on them. Jaycob, however, didn't seem as easily swayed, and eyed the former officer with suspicion; the pilot decided not to even try and talk him out of it.

As they approached the old base, Jon'Kil grew sad at the sight of the neglected X-Wings. He longed to be in the cockpit of his personally painted blue and red X-Wing, but that was impossible now, thanks to Kylo Ren. He looked down at his right hand, where a black glove concealed the prosthetic hand he now had after the destruction of the Raddus' hangar. The Chiss also now toted a large scar across his chest from a piece of metal that had nearly impaled him, plus plenty of burn marks. He thought back to the time on D'Qar when General Organa and Commander (Captain?) Dameron had assigned him to the B-Wing white squadron; he'd given them hell until they let him keep his X-Wing. As a former First Order special forces pilot, the Jon'Kil had flown many TIEs, and he found that the X-Wing was a far superior ship.

When the group of new rebels came to the entrance Jon'Kil was planning to go in first, blaster drawn and at the ready, but noticed that Jaycob seemed to want Priah to go in first. That was fine with him as long as Jaycob didn't let his hatred of the First Order get to far ahead of him and in the way of the mission.

    Priah was not an idiot.

She could tell immediately after she had finished speaking that her revelation as a willing member of the First Order had put Jaycob on edge. Which was quite honestly the standard reaction. Nobody within the Resistance looked at her favorably except for General Leia. To reach her position within Supreme Leader Snokes military force, her loyalty to them was obvious to each person she met. They could only see her as the Captain of one of the dreaded Star Destroyers instead of a person who risked her life to warn them of the impending threat to them and the Republic. As Jaycob pointedly looked at her when asking who should enter first, she rolled her eyes. A thin smile spread across her face and she looked at Jaycob with hardened eyes.

"By all means..." She began, gesturing to the entrance. "Lead on."

His smile faded. Suspicion between the two had increased tremendously and Jaycob was not going to let himself get shot in the back. He called to the only member of the squad he trusted, Jon'Kil, and said firmly,

    "Watch my back."

Darting his eyes directly at Priah. He turned around and pointed his flashlight into the entrance. Even with the luminescent torch, darkness was all that appeared. Jaycob sparked another flare, 2 out of 5, and slid it across the floor. As it rolled along, shadows in the shape of sticks scurried away. Various sizes of cobweb hung across the ceiling, meaning only one thing.

    "Gapers."

Jaycob whispered. He brought up his blaster, pointing it forward while simultaneously scanning the area. Gapers were nicknames given to the native arachnid species of Dathomir. It's full name being simply, Gaping spider, it was a little taller than Jaycob's 6'2" height and twice as heavy. They carried around a huge stinger, reminiscent of scorpions, that shot out a venomous neon-green acid towards it's victims. Judging by the size of the cobwebs, the Queen found a new home inside the base Ominous.

A loud hissing sound echoed through the corridor, sending chills down Jaycob's spine. However he walked forward, cautiously. The rest of the squad followed close behind, weapons also drawn, scanning the area. Reaching the edge of the flare's red glow, Jaycob blindly fired a shot into the darkness, sending a flash of blue energy deeper into the corridor. It contacted with a wall around 20 feet away, but not without revealing dozens of eggs scattered throughout the pathway. In response to the blaster bolt, another loud hissing sound echoed through, causing Jaycob to step back into the flare glow. Fortunately, the glow gave Jaycob just enough time to react to an acid shot expelled from an unknown source. He dove to the right, into the wall next to him, barely dodging it. He didn't have time to give warning to his teammates. Hopefully, they had the quick reaction time he did.

Jon'Kil gave Jaycob a look as he was told to watch his back, silently warning him not to let his emotions get to far ahead of him. He followed into the cave-like abandoned base behind Priah, his rifle held against his shoulder and ready to fire at any resistance the squad met. While Jaycob examined the area up front, the Chiss bent down and picked up an old DL-44 heavy blaster pistol; he checked it and noticed it was still loaded with functioning power packs. Jon'Kil tucked the pistol into his belt just as Jaycob dodged a spray of acid that came from the darkness and continued past him towards Priah and himself. The pair's faces should have been melted off, but an odd sensation came over Jon'Kil in the few seconds they had to react.

With unnatural speed, he jumped at Priah and tackled her to the ground, hissing in pain as a few drops of the spray bit into his back; however, the majority of the acid fell to the ground safely away from the squad of Resistance members. Jon'Kil climbed off of Priah and took quick aim at the spider-like figure that had begun to move menacingly out of the darkness and into the light of the flare. The Chiss let loose a flurry of five blaster bolts at what he imagined was the creature's head. However, his head wasn't really in the present moment, rather it was brooding on how he had reacted with such speed when he hadn't known the acid spray was coming until he saw it a foot from his face.

Jaycob didn't even look behind him to see if his teammates were harmed before firing 4 bolts from his blaster into the direction of the acid shot. He followed the shots with his eyes as they progressed further into the darkness. 2 of them hit the wall behind the Gaper, 1 hit it an egg, and the other hit the Gaper directly in the head. The monster let out a ear-piercing squeal before it slumped to the floor. Jaycob sparked another flare sending it to the end of hall, smacking against the 2-holed wall.

"I think that was the only one. But, keep your eyes open."

Cautiously, Jaycob proceeded forward, smashing eggs under his boots. The hall spilt into two directions, east and west. Shining his flashlight down the east corridor first, Jaycob could see a faint glint of light at the other end, sharing the same color as the Gaper eggs. Neon yellow and green. On the opposite side, the corridor ended much earlier than the east, with a singular door blocking whatever was on the other side. However, the control panel for the door was chewed out, now a new nest for another egg.

"Alright team, which way should we go? Or do you want to split up?"

    She was a rat.

Ever since the lurkers had killed or...or Force knows what to the inhabitants that weren't as small as she, Asha had been crawling through vents and hiding in sealed rooms. The things were too big to fit in the compartments, so she was mostly safe. Everyone was dead, from what she knew, and those things lurked in the shadows. The only times she came out from the maze of ventilation shafts was to retrieve more food. Those were the times she was at the most danger. They could easily pluck her from the ground and into their tangled webs, never to be seen again. The only weapon to defend herself with? A maintenance jack. Her partner and friend, a Kiffar by the name of Sheira had owned it previous to her. They'd done so much together, and these things picked her up into the shadows when she went on a food run. The two had survived so long together. They had been working on a plan to get away. It almost worked.

Asha had been alone for two months by her count. She'd learned so much to hide. Her pheromones, being a Zeltron, attracted the things. Light made them angry. She learned to cover herself in grease, not only to mask the distinguishing scent but also to make it easier to squeeze through vents. For the past month, she had been considering letting herself get taken by the things, end the constant terror. The only thing that kept her going were the dreams. Of escaping. Being free to stand up straight. It had been quiet for a while, the spiders seemed to have backed away from her sector.

Then they came. Blaster fire had erupted throughout the halls, and Asha knew how that ended. The things came like a swarm and engulfed the disturbers, leaving nothing behind. These people, they spoke Basic. The woman hadn't heard such a pleasant sound in so long. A voice, something different from the creaking metal of the base. From the voices in her head. From the voice of Sheira. It didn't matter. They would die soon enough. Maybe, maybe they would distract the beasts long enough for her to run. The group had to have a ship, after all. And she could fly it. Yes, perfect!

A smile appeared on her face before it faded. Their lights would attract attention. She had to move before the smaller ones woke.

Unluckily, a bad step sent a loud shrill of creaking metal through the silence. Asha winced as she crawled faster, into a nearby side room and hiding herself in a locker, attempting to slow her breathing.

No response. Great. These guys were helpful. It didn't matter now, he had to get to the bottom of this. Jaycob didn't care if he had to go through a thousand Gapers, or whatever species this hellhole of a planet had to offer, to get there. Without warning, he ran down the west corridor, carefully scanning the area for any more eggs or hatchlings. So far, the only one was the egg in the chewed out door panel. Jaycob shot it with his pistol, sending the soundwaves throughout the empty hallways with replies from other Gapers coming back. Maybe that wasn't the best idea. The same loud high-pitched hisses came back, this time multiplied.

"Kriff! They're coming, cover me while I splice this door."

Jaycob knelt down on one knee, holding the flashlight between his teeth. Thankfully, his gloves would prevent any haywire voltage from electrocuting him to death. However, the miniaturized computer gauntlet he had strapped to his left wrist probably wouldn't mix well with it. Quickly, he unstrapped the gauntlet and went to work. The wiring was chewed out, yes. But it was not that far from salvageable. Keeping his mind off of the blaster fire behind him, he connected wires, flipped circuits, and extinguished electric sparks.

After 5 minutes, everything seemed to be in the right place. Jaycob did the best he could, but he was only a pilot after all. Pilots were trained in flying, not splicing. His work showed it, as two wires simultaneously came undone, sending out more sparks than before. So much for that plan. The panel was definitely far from salvageable now. The group was stuck, being backed up into the door which Jaycob tried to open. The Gapers were basically surrounding them now, shooting orbs of venom in every direction. Pretty soon they were going to be dead, but Jaycob wanted to prolong it for as long as possible.

Jon'Kil stood up, slowly, and ran after Jaycob with his rifle at the ready. While Jaycob worked on the door, the Chiss aimed his rifle down the hallway, and began to light it up with blue plasma bolts, taking down any of the strange spider-like creatures that came close. After about a minute though, it started to get tougher. There were simply too many of these things to shoot down. As the pilot reloaded his weapon, he sent a silent prayer to whichever gods were listening to get him and Jaycob out of this mess. He desperately wished he could be back in his X-Wing, flying through space and shooting down First Order pilots; the same ones he used to fly with.

"Hurry up Jaycob! I can't hold these things off forever!"

More than once, Jon'Kil had wondered if defecting from the First Order had been the right decision. Being one of their best pilots, he had been on track for a promotion or two... but their methods and the lies they spread were simply unacceptable, and despite being and ace pilot the Chiss knew that the higher ups regarded him as cannon fodder, same as the rest of the stormtroopers and pilots. Jon'Kil dodged a venom blast as he refocused, firing his rifle into the face of another Gaper, his whole body tensed while he waited for Jaycob to finish opening the door; another minute and the group would be completely surrounded.

Asha shook in the locker as the blasters erupted, holding her multitool close. They were just going to bring more-no! This was going to get them all killed! She saw the door and had to make a decision. Quick. Let them in, get friends, get out, or turn them into bug meat, get out alone, and possibly live to tell the tale. Decisions. Popping open the locker, Asha ran out, tapping the door controls and opening it up for them, purple hair flashing as they were revealed.

"Come on! Get in! Quick! They won't stop till this is blocked off!"

Swatting a bug with the multitool, she stepped aside, pulling the man by the door inside and waving to the other few that were holding off the monsters. Already shaking, but with that being overtaken by the excitement of the situation, she tapped the door controls once everyone was inside and locked it with a quick swipe, the things only dull thuds behind the door. Collapsing on the durasteel wall, she leaned her forehead against her multitool, bursting into tears. What else could she do?

Before the group could be torn to pieces by the Gapers, the door just magically opened. Did Jaycob really have a secret skill in splicing? Nope. Before he realized what was happening, Jaycob was pulled by his flight suit into the door. He landed on his chest and quickly turned to see the other two members of his squad back up into the doorway, still sending blaster bolts into the growing crowd.

And as soon as it started, it ended. The doors closed just seconds after everyone was safe in what looked like some kind of storage room. The room was dimly lit, and reeked of grease. But before he could relax, Jaycob realized he had forgotten something.

    "Dammit! My WRIST!"

The wrist-mounted device was still behind the door with the Gapers. He began to reach for the door before stopping himself. The group was in a tough spot; safe but trapped. Unless the mystery girl knew anywhere else they could go. However, she began to cry before Jaycob could question her. He simply shrugged at Jon'Kil and began scanning the room for another door or access vent. At this time, Jaycob was only equipped with Glie-44 and a broken flashlight.

"I have a really bad feeling about this."

Jon'Kil was low on ammunition. He was nearly back to back with Jaycob, and had resorted to using his rifle as a club to bat the large creatures away. It seemed close to the end; the Gapers were closing in, the door behind him still wasn't open, and he had lost sight of the third member of the team, Priah. With all that was happening, the Chiss presumed her to be dead already, possibly the lucky one in this situation.

All the thoughts flying around inside his head came to a stop however, when suddenly the door opened and he fell through the door which he had been pushed into by one of the Gapers. It closed as suddenly as it had opened, leaving the Gapers to pound against the cold durasteel and screech in their awful tone. Jon'Kil slowly stood up and cringed, realizing there was something wrong with his ankle. The pain rushed in as he noticed it was bent 90 degrees to the right, a result of his awkward fall into the room.

Gasping for breath, the Chiss noticed the newcomer as well; a pink Zeltron (?) who was seated in the floor crying, while Jaycob surveyed the room.

"I don't know who you are, but I'm going to say thanks for whatever you did; there's no way Jaycob became a tech genius in 30 seconds. Also, Jaycob? I think I broke my ankle..."

Asha rocked back and forth, her head on her legs in a sitting position reminiscent of a child going through a bad dream. The two were talking. Not to her. To each other. Basic. Right. She spoke it. Looking up and wiping dried tears, the man nearest to her, a nice-looking Chiss with glowing eyes, said his thanks. Taking in a deep breath, Asha nodded before picking up her multitool and eyeing the other one, Jaycob, who had yelled something about his wrist. Nothing she could do about that. Nothing he could do.

"Th-there's no...no going back for it. Th-they'll be there for...a long time. Maybe nest. Then that entrance is blocked off. For good. Like the others. And-I think I can help with...with your ankle. I know basic first aid.."

She stood up and walked a couple steps before kneeling down beside his ankle, bent at a sickening degree. Looked clean...the only problem was...well, keeping it in place. Turning her head to the Jaycob person, Asha spoke while she pointed to a locker. Inside were some medical supplies she and her friend had been stockpiling...since...before. Fresh tears appeared in her eyes, which she wiped clean while lifting up the Chiss man's pant leg.

"There's a splint in there. Good quality...First Order equipment. Cinches the bone tight, does the work of taking weight. I was...we were...saving..saving it."

Unzipping her jumpsuit and taking off her gloves, she took off the upper half of the mechanic uniform, a dirty white undershirt beneath. As she waited for the splint to be retrieved, the Zeltron looked at the ankle, gingerly hovering a hand over the bone as she looked for the break. As she'd seen earlier, it was clean. But it'd hurt like a million moons to walk on. Turning and locking eyes with the Chiss, Asha spoke with sincerity.

"I have no pain meds. This is going to hurt. Bite on something if you have to."

Jaycob really wanting nothing more than to retrieve his “wrist”. But safety took the higher priority in the situation they were in. Whether the group liked it or not, he was going to come back for it. But first, he had to get his wingman patched up. Jaycob opened the meds locker and pulled out the FO splint that was requested. He handed it to her and watched her get to work.

Jaycob knew it was going to hurt, so he tried to find something Jon’Kil could use to take the feelings of anger and pain out on. He rummaged around for a towel, a shirt, or any type of cloth he could bite down on. No luck. But there was no way he would give up that scarf remnant that he kept in his flight suit, no matter how loyal he was.

Sorry bud, you’re going to have to toughen up through this one. I’m going to keep looking for another exit.

All he could find were lockers, most of them empty. He searched through each and every one of them, trying to find an explosive or something to blow themselves another exit. But judging by how small the room was, the explosion might actually blow them up instead. He then looked back to the girl, hoping she had some inside information she could share.

Please tell me we’re not going to die from starvation or dehydration in here. If that’s the plan, I’d rather die out there.
