Marn Thracken was a Corellian Male drug dealer, arms dealer and general heap of violent, human scum, who operated during the Fires of Rebellion period of Galactic History. Working mostly in and around the metropolitan sectors of his homeworld, such as Coronet City, he was a career criminal.

Masquerading behind the facade of a legitimate, if somewhat shady, construction business, Marn spends the majority of his time undertaking various criminal activities such as the sale of weapons and narcotics, the sale of stolen goods, petty theft and more high-stakes heists, such as robberies.

    Biography

Coronet City was never a good place to begin with, but the slums was far far worse, and it was here that Marn was born. Born to two members of a swoop gang, he had a troubled upbringing, always on the run, with absent and uncaring parents, one of whom died when he was ten to a spice overdose. Such an upbringing was not the seeding ground for a fertile mind, brimming with ambition to go out into the world, and make his own way. As such, when he turned sixteen, Marn dropped out of school and dropped into street crime.

Joining in with his parents swoop gang, he became a full member by virtue of his association with his parents, and was keenly adept in the seat of a bike by the time his first year of membership was out. Able to handle a weapon with ease, and put it to good use as well, he was assigned to his own crew, and was patrolling part of the Gangs territory with them by the time he was twenty. For Marn, this was his life planned out - running drugs, weapons and protection on anyone who operated on their turf, no need for fancy learning or good manners to boot.

However, when one is engaged in a life of crime, Lady Luck is more fickle than usual.

As such, a mere three years after he became a fully fledged member, the Corellian Police Force (CPF) began a crackdown on Swoop Gangs in Coronet, thanks to the visionary and powerful leadership of the Cities new Mayor - himself a former Officer. No quarter was given, and the gangs that did not relent or surrender, found themselves driven out by force. His Gang, the Guns of Coronet found themselves subjected to the latter - and, in order to save his own skin, he kept his head down, renounced his membership, and watched the Gang that had raised him burned to a crisp.

One of the few former members to escape the CPFs notice, Marn went solo.

Using what little money he had stashed away, he decided to play the game a little more subtly, and purchased a front organisation behind which he could hide his ill-gotten gains. Coronet Construction was to open for business near to his twenty-sixth birthday, offering the cash-heavy services of building repairs, manufacture and demolition. For Marn, it was close to a stroke of genius as he had ever got, and likely ever would, a business that paid mostly in cash, and enabled him to hire swarthy down-and-outs, who could go anywhere they wanted, completely legally.

With his cover basically assured, he dove back into the crime scene, calling on what contacts he had left, to set up drug operations, gun-running, the occasional hitman assignment, and the fencing of stolen goods. Since the fall of the mainstream gangs, for Marn, there was a hearty profit to be made filling that gap. And, with his own penchant for extreme violence assisting him along the way, he set up shop.

    Personality and Traits

Marn is a committed criminal, fully aware that what he does is wrong, and harmful to those around him. Keen on ensuring he maintains his image as a career criminal, or a legitimate and successful small businessman, depending on who is asking, he takes a care free approach to his image and possessions - rather handy when one has cash to hand. A cautious man, Marn knows that his chosen life is a dangerous one, and does not make friends quickly. Despite this, he is very committed to those friends he does have, as well as family members and associates, and values (and expects) loyalty from them.

Something of an egotist and narcissist, he tends to be mostly concerned with his wellbeing and that of his immediate friends, and cares little for the impact his actions and words have on people and events outside of that group. In such situations, he is quick to anger, and often foolhardy in his actions. A heavy drinker and smoker, he is prone to using bad language in casual conversation, and cares little for the offense he causes in doing so. Known to fly off the handle at the slightest provokation, he is a very dangerous - and crudely intelligent - type of scum.

A well connected man, he has a way of charming people in the criminal underworld - mixed with a hearty amount of intimidation when require, and has an imposing physical frame to back it up. Capable with weapons, both ranged and close combat, he is handy behind the wheel, and good with numbers - although lacks understanding of ‘new fangled modern rubbish’ preferring to do things the ‘tried and tested way’.

Thanks to his chosen profession, he is a very careful planner, and deeply rational when it comes to the execution of crimes. Planning things out to a meticulous level of detail, he always makes sure he has the right people for the job, and a back up plan should things go south. He stands at 6’ 2’’ and is 76 ibs, he is not a force sensitive.

    Equipment

Marn is normally found dressed in a set of swoop leathers, with some sort of light body armour being adorned in times of need. He is never seen without a vibroblade, huttball bat, pistol and always has a rifle stowed in his car - his personal vehicle being a GoTech 450.

He makes use of a commlink and datapad, and owns a Stargull for interstellar travel when required.

    Assets & Relations

Being a career criminal, Marn has to make sure that things look above board when people come knocking. To that end, he runs a building and construction company in Coronet City, through which he can launder his money and cover for his frequent travel on ‘business’. The ‘company’ is based out of an industrial unit in the City itself, and has several second-hand astromechs and a Corellian Mechanic working at it, all other 'staff' are hired on contract.

Located inside one of his companies LK-6800 Speeder Trucks can be found a death stick lab, manned by his trusty chef, Ricky the Rodian. It is through the sale of such death sticks that Marn makes most of his credits..

Voren Dhur was a human male, born on Corellia, who operated as a Journalist who operated mostly during the close of the Fire of the Rebellion period of galactic history. Serving as a war correspondent for the Hyperlane Herald, Voren also work as an investigative reporter, on a freelance basis whenever he could get the time. A cynic, Voren saw the Galaxy at its worst no matter where he headed, and that formed a basis for his writing - making him a contraversial and acquired taste with his readers.

    Biography

Born on Corellia to a pair of factory workers, Voren was not bound for a life of glamour and fame - nor did he ever want one.

Barely scraping through school, he took a job as an assistant to a holodocumentarian, who was more interested in using his 'street smarts' to make a good movie, than he was in actually improving Vorens life prospects. Voren was to stay with the man for nearly two years, before his employer was gunned down by thugs in the Coronet slums, and Voren was left unemployed, but in the possession of some reasonably servicable reporting kit. Deciding to make the best he could with the hand life had dealt him, he made off with the equipment, and became a freelance reporter.

His fast-and-loose attitude lost him him his first few jobs, but as his style developed, he was eventually picked up by the spacers publication, the Hyperlane Herald as one of their war correspondents, falling in rapidly with figures within the rebellion shortly after, as the Herald began to align its reporting more in tune with their message.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

    Personality and Traits

A proud believer in the somewhat bandied around concept that journalists are 'guardians of the truth', Voren adheres to that maxim to the letter, often at the detriment of his own career. He is a blunt, sarcastic and often downright rude individual, whose desire to see the truth exposed and the corrupt shown for what they are, has landed him in trouble more times than he can count. Despite his outward appearance as an unkempt, heavy drinking, smoke washed loser, he is a survivalist, able to cope in harsh conditions (often self inflicted) and to put up with the grit and spit of the unpleasant end of the galaxy.

Drawn toward conflict, unrest and general nastiness in his quest for a good story, Voren is commpletely at ease behind the controls of a speeder, pistol in hand, as he is tucked away in a writing room - imparting his stories onto the holonet. Of course, without comprehensive military training, his skills in that department are limited to what he has picked up through practice, and requirement, with most of his talents coming in the form of the written and spoken word.

Quick to make friends, often with the worst kinds of people, he is at home when surrounded by the scum of the Galaxy and finds the post 'how-d-you-do' like people of the galaxy to be some of the most unpleasant people around. Cynical to the extreme, he sees the worst in people, places and things, firmly believing that everyone is just trying to look out for themselves. It was, oddly, this belief that has driven him to the rebellion - within which he resides on the more anarchist fringe, supporting the idea of tearing down the established order, and rebuilding from the ground up.

He stands at about 5'6'', weights around 85 ibs, and is not a force sensitive.

    Equipment

Voren travels lightly, and makes use of basic equipment so as to not arouse suspicion (and because its dirt cheap, and being dirt poor, that's a good thing). Using a Chanti Blaster Pistol and a simple vibroblade, he can normally be seen dressed in Wanderers Rags. Most of his work is supported by a Bibliomech Droid, which can normally be found following him from A to B, or in the back seat of his SorSuub W10 Landspeeder.

Personal equipment is naturally, something a journalist needs to be careful with - and Voren therefore makes use of a few small, yet sturdy, items to help with his work. Chiefly, a DTX-1480 Informaster is the main 'weapon' in his arsenal, alongside a commlink and a Universal Translating Device. For personal use he makes use of a Holoman Music Player, and for more important, and perhaps less legal work, he employs a Signal Tracer, Port Scanner and a TDS-1100 Portable Computer.
