    The Reeking Reek,

    Nar Shaddaa

There is a new Vigo in town. One day removed from Jack Lawson's ascension from the lowly position of a Cartel Basadi Slicer to an influential Cartel Vigo, Jack Lawson never felt more proud and happy with himself than ever before. It wasn't too long ago in his past that he was going to a University in Coronet City, he was compromised in illegal electronic credit theft (which he started dabbling in out of boredom) and was forced to flee Corellia. It wasn't too long ago that Jack Lawson found himself on Nar Shaddaa and joined the Hutt Cartel as a Basadi to put his electronic talents to use. In the end, it all paid off. Jack Lawson never thought he would be in the position he was and never thoguht he would be doing the thing he did. He sure never thought that he would be holding a lightsaber, let alone two and then turning them in for the bounty. And he sure as hell never thought at any point in his life he would be impressing the Hutt Lordas enough that he be granted the rank of Vigo.

Jack Lawson asked himself 'Then what?' after obtaining the Vigo rank. Couldn't say he thought that far ahead. Lawson thought it was time for a fresher look. His hair was getting long and it was unkempt, it's now shorter and well-combed. Lawson also ditched the spectacles he is normally seen wearing to wearing and now wears contacts. Most importantly, the Vigo goes under the codename Spectre, and that's the name the Cartel will know the new Vigo as.

At the Reeking Reek, the Cartel Vigo-Slicer has rented out the place for the night. The dapper-dressed slicer had invited members of the Hutt Cartel over. The Chevin bartender made sure everything was ready. Drinks are all on the Vigo tonight (although the bartender surely wouldn't mind tips from the patrons). There were an assortment of Basadi already there, the Reeking Reeks bouncers were in their position standing vigilante looking out for the first sign of trouble. There was a bouncer at the door and looking out for anyone not Cartel or a VIP.

The Reeking Reek might be pretty busy tonight, but that shouldn't be a problem as the Reeking Reek held lots of patrons during the Grand Boonta's Eve tournament, to which Lawson remembers being present for.

Spectre will be sitting at the main balcony area where the wealthier guests sit above the main floor, having a glass of Corellian brandy as he has a decent view of the Smuggler's Moon cityscape (being Nar Shaddaa, not much to look at). That's the place's VIP area and Lawson has some peace and quiet for now (but anyone could come and chat with him if they want). This is what victory feels like and feels good. He is wearing a blue suit with his usual protection and gadgets packed underneath his professional attire, but has all his other normal gear on him.

OOC: Social thread open for Cartel characters! Criminal Indies can DM/PM/Message me if they want to join. Combat/PVP/Death disabled. Feel free to join and chat it up!

Ark didn't know why some people chose the names of businesses that they did. Even without a nose he could smell thanks to his body's sensors, making a reek something that was quite unpleasant for him. The only reason he could see that a Sports Bar would be named as such would have been as a satirical or ironic name, or perhaps as an in joke. Regardless, the place didn't smell all that bad at all, which was a relief. He almost hadn't gone thanks to the name of the place, yet his friendship with Jack Lawson was stronger than a bad odor. Oh wait, he was going by the name 'Spectre' now. Ark would make sure to not accidentally give his name away either here or elsewhere. While he didn't know much about the Hutt Cartel in general, he could understand the power in a name. It was the least he could do to one of the few people he considered a friend.

While his programming could emulate being drunk, it was something that Ark had never tried before. He accepted a drink and was nearly blown away by the taste, alcohol having an effect that he hadn't expected and was unsure if he liked it or not. Nursing his drink as he moved, which didn't really involve any being ingested as he didn't have a mouth to do so, he made his way up to the VIP balcony to give his congratulations in person. He really tried to not step on anyone's feet on the way, or anyone small in general. This was a place full of strange beings that he had never seen outside of documentaries on his home planet, filling him with a small sense of wonder. He finally found himself in front of Spectre, giving a wave and a bow as he got within earshot. "Congratulations, Spectre! I could tell you were destined for greatness since we first met. You at least have a pleasing face for it." The alcohol was making him bubbly and perhaps say things he would usually keep to himself. Was this a common thing?

In the Cartel everything was business, even pleasure. Especially pleasure. So it was if Talia Serakona was going to rise in the ranks she would have to make appearances. An odd path for one who strove not to be noticed, but even an assassin needed to be seen at times. She decided to wear a proper gown for this even though she loathed how vulnerable it made her feel. Her hair gave her slight blind spots large enough for an agile assailant and her jewelry could easily be tugged or torn giving her a disadvantage in close combat. She knew no such attacks would occur at this event, doing so would be worse than suicide. Still, Talia didn't like the constant reminder with each heeled step that her movements were hampered and her vision was clouded. Odd as it was, these reminders led her to drink as was the notion of the self destructive mind.

Hitting up the Chevin for a drink he swiftly mixed an interesting concoction that formed a cloud when spun. As it settled blue droplets began to appear looking like rain falling down only to float back up as the drink settled back into it's perfectly clear start. Blinking at this odd mixture she tasted it and found it only average. All flash, no substance, one could hope the host of this party the so called 'Spectre' wouldn't have similarities with the contents of the glass. Leaving a sizable tip and a glass half empty she moved to the VIP balcony.

She might have been stopped or searched on the way up, but as she often did for no reason more than to prove that she could she moved past the bouncer as he was busy looking over a shifty Devaronian. She hadn't met one of those red bastards who didn't fit the devilish part, but she was sure ninety percent of them gave the rest a bad name. Moving elegantly up the stairs she was pleased to see the Upper Crust of the Hutt's organization were both so varied and so similar. While they came from every walk of life each of them put out their best at an occasion such as this. She recognized a few Underbosses' she'd worked for though she'd never acknowledge it. Even in a close affair like this, one could never be too careful. Even the host was using an alias after all.

Speaking of the host she spotted him speaking to an impressive looking metal man. Unlike the robotic servers here this one looked like he could take a punch. It made Talia think of how vulnerable she was to robotic assailants. Perhaps an EMP grenade was in order. Not exactly thoughts for a social occasion, but still food for thought. Looking over this 'Spectre' fellow, Talia was both impressed and bemused. This look was new for him and it showed. It wasn't just a new suit he wore, but a fresh one. His tailor would need a few more whacks at it before he'd fix the small details that show the true cut of a man. Still to see one so young doing so well certainly gave Talia a few ideas for herself.

Approaching and hearing the droid's praise she looked at the man lilting her head just so as she spoke just above the sound of the music and murmuring crowd, "I couldn't agree more, you've made quite a name for yourself," looking between the two she allowed her face to flow in the moment as her ears caught snippets of so many conversations happening. Propositions of business, wagers of huge sums of money, and of course drunken flirtation, such a scene provided so much lovely information, but for now her eyes and ears were on one singular man.

"Talia Serakona, if you've heard of me then I may just have to change it again,"

The Cartel Vigo-Slicer watched as speeders zoomed through out the city as he had the best seat in the establishment. Still wasn't the greatest thing to look at though. Spectre then would then turn his head to look around as he heard the unmistakable sound of a machine's legs striding the ground and he sees none other than his robotic friend whom Spectre first met on a caffeine Hosnian Prime and seems to find himself in the Elensalite's (@Insalius) company again. Heh. Jack Lawson is actually pretty fond of the marvelous' machine's company. Spectre could see another woman (@BlackJack) as well, but the dapper Vigo doesn't know of her. Spectre would get up from his seat as the two started congratulating him and praising him with a slight smirk of sanctification. It feels nice to having heard Ark refer to him by his new code name. He would still have his drink in his right hand as he his left arm folded behind his back. While having his smirk on the outside, Lawson did chuckle a bit when the Elensalite said he at least has a pleasing face for the job. The Elensalite's really aren't like normal droids. Lawson knows that Elensalite's have a wide-range of emotions like organics do, but he wasn't sure if they could get drunk or not. Wouldn't surprise him if they could really.

"Thank you two" he replied to the two after they finished speaking while raising his drink. Spectre would turn his head towards Ark first. "Glad to have you here Ark. I appreciate it." Then the Cartel Vigo would turn his attention to the woman in the dress who identified herself as Talia Serakona. "Name doesn't ring a bell to me" he said, so if she was being serious, she wouldn't have to change it. He wasn't sure excatly if it was in jest or "Pleasure to make your acquaintance though, Talia" he nodded his head towards her slightly. The Vigo would then take a sip of his brandy as he had attention split across the woman and the Elensalite.

Habibah was no stranger to the Reeking Reek. The place had fairly priced drinks and was usually on her stop when hopping from cantina to cantina on the long party nights of Vertical City. Tonight however, it was the main place she was attending. Dressed in fairly revealing clothes she sauntered into the cantina along with her zabrak gal-pal Raina. While the Echani was a basadi and bounty hunter under the employ of the Hutt Cartel, Raina was just a member of Chiffon's performance group, the Harlequins.

The third member of their group had not confirmed nor denied coming to the event. @Claire Na'amro was the third member of their group and it would be nice for all of them to be together. Even if the vigo turned out to be a total nerf-cake at least the bar was open and the two could enjoy the night together. Neither of them had met Spectre (@Faster Than Light ) before but knew he was a slicer. Habibah was curious as to whether or not he would continue working as one or focus more on management. Word around the Hutt Cartel was that he had a fair amount of coin from a lightsaber he had turned in though she wondered about the circumstances he had acquired it.

The Echani's true had been changed long ago. So long ago to the point that if someone shouted it in a crowd she probably would not even register it. Even with her current name, Habibah Grata, she did not always respond. Chiffon, was the name she went by. It was both her stage name and her call sign in the field. The Harlequins were more than just a performance group. They were a for-hire death squad and bounty hunting trio that were always open for business. Tonight was meant for relaxation and recreation. Pulling out a cigara, Habibah placed the roll in her mouth. Raina also had a call sign, Ivory. It was perhaps on the nose given her crest of horns but Habibah liked it. The two found themselves quickly at the bar, ordering mutli-colored drinks with double the normal servings of each liquor.

Kring entered with his usual bravado. He strode in like he owned the place, passed at the door to survey the establishment as well as taking note of doorways and other exits.
His eyes glanced around and then landed on the balcony above the main floor... that was his destination.
The invite was a surprise yet a welcome one... perhaps someone had noticed him and his particular set of skills and was in need of assistance. Heavens knew he was in need of a good paying job.
The Vigo was well known and reputable in the Cartel which made Kring even more interested that he was sent an invitation to this little get together.
As he made his way through the evening’s crowd, he ignored most of the looks he got (no one really likes pirates in nice places like these) and proudly grinned at everyone who dared to make eye contact with him.
This place is boring, he thought to himself as he neared the stairs leading up, I may have to liven thing up a bit later.
He ascended the stairs easily and waved at the Chevin as he reached the top, “Corellian Rum if ye don’t mind me good Sir.”
Grinning he looked at saw the one who had invited him, walked over to where he was seated and gave a low sweeping bow. “Ah, greetings to ye Master Spectre. Ye have me thanks fer invitin’ me to yer little...soirée.”

Sounds reverberated through the packed club. Whispered secrets, carnal invitations, drunken rants, feet slapping the ground as the pounding music boomed through everyone shaking their molecules in a collective involuntary beat. As Spectre arose from his seat he produced a regal air of an up and coming star of the Cartel. Stars fall though, but in his moment of shining brilliance it was easy to forget that. Smirking as he greeted the Elensalite, she was happy to hear the reputation of this name hadn't become as widespread as the last. She knew the dapper host was busy with many coming to give their regards so she couldn't keep him long. Flicking a thin electronic card toward the man she put on her signature blank face,

"You're important now. That comes with problems. If you'd rather forget a problem and need a forgettable face to help you, I believe one of your talents will know what to do with that,"

To any normal person the card would seem a blank thing and to one experienced with datapads they'd only discover an encrypted drive, but if Spectre's reputation preceded him, her little puzzle would prove child's play and he'd have a chance to utilize her services, whatever they may be at the time. She wouldn't recall and he would soon forget.

Stepping back with the faintest of smile's she turned to go and swiftly dodged the oncoming pirate, Kring. Ignoring the rudeness and noting her drink was fine she continued to nurse it as she moved to a corner to listen from. In the dark she could find silence even enveloped in the noise of pointless badinage.

Looking out she noted the glowing Ark, the swashbuckling Kring, a few lesser Hutts, slave girls galore. That was a life she might have lived a hundred times had fate not intervened. She'd rather die than suffer such a fate and was glad to see other women about who seemed to share the sentiment slapping off drunken gropes like flies. One pair caught her eye, an androgynous looking blonde and her hot pink friend. They gathered more than a few looks with their outfits, but oddly no one dared touch them. Perhaps it was the aura they gave off, or a reputation unknown to Natalia. Either answer was fascinating. Approaching the two casually she took a sip of her drink,

"Had I not just met the host I would've assumed it was you two. The masses flow around you like a stone in a river." her eyes flashed with curiosity and...perhaps jealously, a new one for Talia to feel assuredly but perhaps there all along.

"Talia Serakona, what brings you two to this little get together?"

The new Vigo caught the thin object the woman as the woman (@BlackJack) flicked it. His experience in the thick of it out in the field sharpened and honed his reflexes. After he caught it, he would look at it and recognize what it is, Spectre was also listening to Talia. She is right, as a Vigo in the Hutt Cartel, it is inevitable that he will make some enemies whether he is actively seeking them or not. Being Vigo comes with territory and he must be able to defend it. That is the reality of it, but the Vigo-Slicer didn't step up to this position oblivious to that reality. The woman offered her services to him and the device the woman gave him is a way of contacting her going by what she said. Spectre would nod his head towards her put the encrypted drive in his jacket pocket for later. Spectre will probably make use of her services in the future. The woman carried herself as confident and no-nonsense, just like Spectre would like to see in a subordinate. "Duly noted." as the dapper slicer had a slight smile and nodded his head. He might just have to take up her offer one of these days.

It appears that Talia would then step away and then another basadi (@Nastalle) would come in. His appearance suggests that he may be a pirate or something. He carried himself very confident as well as Spectre saw the basadi's grin. After being thanked for the invite, Spectre would then reply back to the pirate. "Thanks." the Vigo nodded then took another sip of his drink. "Pleased to meet you. You are...?" Lawson left the pirate to fill the blank on who he is.

“The name’s Kring.” the pirate grinned. “I’m not as well know as I’d like ta be, nor as rich.” He took a long draught of the rum, swallowed and then let out a pleased sigh. “This is very good if’n I do say so meself.”
The pirate then smiled at the Vigo, “If’n you are in need of anything, my services are at yer disposal.” He bowed low again with another grin.

The Wook was never late. Nor was he early. The Wook showed up precisely when he meant to. In this instance he showed up at a fashionable point in time after people had already began to gather in the Reeking Reek, a bar that he had come to grow quite fond of. It was always a challenge in scent and fortitude to pick apart the various odors that were present. The bar was aptly named, he had decided after his first visit. The name of Jack Lawson sounded vaguely familiar, but he thought he would need to put a face to the name first before he made the connection. At any rate, Mr. Lawson had decided (perhaps foolishly) that he would cover everyone's bar tab that night. It was a challenge that The Wook could not pass up, and he was determined to put a sizable dent in Lawson's wallet tonight. Perhaps he would challenge people to keg stands. That would do splendidly.

To prepare himself for the keg stands he was planning on, The Wook had only ordered one tall beer, and a light one at that. He munched on some buttered garlic bread thingies just to provide something to soak up the alcohol some. A repurposed protocol droid informed him that Lawson was upstairs entertaining guests, if he wished to go see. The Wook shrugged and grunted around a mouthful of oily bread as he turned his focus to watch some very scantily clad dancers. The Wook had to hand it to Lawson, the guy knew how to throw a party. He brushed past the droid without another grunt. Protocol droids annoyed him. Still, it would be very un-brolike to not fist-bump this Lawson guy if he was going to be drinking all his beer. So he climbed the stairs without making room for anyone else going down. They would flatten themselves against the wall. He was the bigger one, after all.

At the top, The Wook sniggered as he recognized Haboobie from her ill-fated tournament debut. He quickly took a picture of her and sent it to Tage Mak (@Sreeya) along with the caption of "splat". He looked at her legs and found them to be disappointingly non-mangled still. Ah well. A wheelchair-bound bounty hunter was what the galaxy needed, but would not get. He thought this to be a gigantic shame. He looked over to the table then and saw the man of the hour conversing with...a pirate? By all the ancient gods it was a legit pirate! This party was kriffing awesome! There was a pirate! He wondered how much gold and rubies Kring had stashed away in his ship or on some desert planet. His eyes moved over to Lawson and immediately The Wook recognized him. "Aarrragghuuhw huuguughghg! Raaaaaahhgh huuguughghg huurh Uughghhhgh Hnnnhrrhhh's aarrragghuuhw! Huuguughghg, huurh! Uughghhhgh huurh, raaaaaahhgh wrrhw uugggh," he growled, absolutely delighted to see the pretty boy again. The trial of That Shit, as he had been legally renamed from some boring, entirely forgetful name that The Wook could not remember, had been entertainment at its finest. The Wook held out a large fist for Lawson to fist-bump.

Kring turned at the sound of the heavy footsteps made by the Wookie. “Me pardon friend.” He quickly sized up the big newcomer and decided not to make any sarcastic remarks or jokes at the Wookie’s expense... for the moment. “Seems my visit with the Vigo is now ended.” The pirate took another drink then smiled, “I look forward to when we can talk again about more profitable ventures.”
He looked down at his glass and frowned, “I’ll take me leave and see if I can’t fill me glass some more.”
As he left his eyes scanned the crowd for the Chavin... and the rum.

    __________

Both of the women had just taken their first sips when another female approached them. She looked them up and down which did not bother either one of them. Habibah was not bothered by being looked at especially when it was by someone she found attractive in return. Hearing the compliments the women known as Ivory and Chiffon thanked the woman.

"Habibah Grata and this is my friend Raina Daerb. You can call us Chiffon and Ivory respectivly if you want." Chiffon adjusted her posture to be more open towards Talia. While she was barely over one and a half meters in height she put in an effort to have a presence. It was different compared to her days on Eshan as a school girl where she was anonymous. The only thing that attracted attention to her was the very fact nobody had known anything about her.

These days she was in the spotlight here and there. Even if such events were negatively impacting her reputation. She could name several people that got into big business by initially making huge publicized mistakes that got their name out. For this Chiffon did not mind it. In fact she laughed about it over drinks in places such as this. Her small stature and gender had given people cause to underestimate her. Now she had a inter-galactic accident that had spread her name and inability to fight spread to the darkest corners of any cantina that had given her face a few seconds of criticism. People who recognized her face and name would think she would repeat the mistake, get cocky, etc. Get knocked down, get back up again and shake off all those haters.

"As for the reason...isn't it obvious" the woman asked with a cocked eyebrow as she looked over to Raina to make her point. The zabrak raised a glass "DRINKS" this made them both smile, knock their glasses together in a toast and consume nearly half of their beverage before looking back at Talia. "Plus there's a new Vigo here too. Yeah, and there are lovely people like you that would attend. Why are you here?" After she said that she figured it would probably be a good idea to eventually get over to the host and introduce herself and congratulate him.

Ark was happy to hear Jack's words, the fact that he had such a friend in the new Vigo giving him a warm feeling in his heart that may have also been from the alcohol his body was simulating. He placed the drink up to his faceplate again, finding that the taste was a lot better now that he was approaching an inebriated state, though as he hadn't experienced this before he didn't know he'd passed the threshold between buzzed and drunk. He silently watched Talia come up and make her congratulations, absentmindedly memorizing her face in case it came up later in an encounter. He nodded at Jack after they were done, unsure of what he should say, and left the man to enjoy the accolades of others coming to the party. Only time would tell if having a robot drunk for the first time going into a crowded party by himself would be a mistake or not.

He was making his way across the dance floor when the song hit him, the music speaking to something deep inside of him that he didn't know he had. It made him want to move, to dance in a way that he hadn't ever considered, yet as he was very drunk by this point his instincts took over and let his mind take a back seat to the show. It was a good thing his construction was so good, the moves that he was pulling off being the kind that would test the limits of even an organic being. Still, he was wildly enjoying himself as he let the music move his body, not caring what others thought nor that his kind of dancing was quite unusual for anything most people attempted in public. Still, the small crowd that gathered around him to watch his gyrations only served to fuel the performance, the Elensalite now even more grateful to Lawson for allowing such a scene to come to pass. He wouldn't quite know how to feel about this when he was sober, however.

Dancing was happening all around Talia as drinking and merriment swept through the masses. It was odd to the assassin that this was the main motivation for so many in here. They went from party to party doing the dirty work they did simply as a rite of passage to the next drunken night barely remembered by the light of a new day. She hadn't had time for parties as a child, she was too busy honing her craft, finding new marks, earning credits, never enough credits of course as she was beaten by her handlers. She always felt she could do more. Yet so many here were content as they were. They were happy. Talia found them unbearable.

Habibah and her Zabrak companion we're some of the only people here who seemed to get it. They had an air about them that set them apart from the rest yet they were happily drinking just like everyone else. Maybe there was something wrong with Talia, something broken that couldn't be fixed. If that was the case, Talia figured she'd survive. That's what she was good at.

Noting it odd the two had two names and their general attention gathering ways, the assassin figured they were either the idiots they claimed to be, or they were more brilliant than was good for them. Always the paranoid one, Talia fell to the latter theory as she put on a sultry smile. Hearing there question she took a moment to thinking up an answer already knowing what to say the second she heard it.

"I suppose I'm here because being anywhere else didn't make sense" she said cryptically before adding, "Chiffon and Ivory, seem like names to look out for in the world of performers. I'm sure well all perform admirably for this new Vigo."

With the quickest of winks she turned to enters the dance floor shifting through the dancers. While others flailed to lose themselves, Talia shook and shifted to find herself. She made it an exercise to remain untouched as she slid to and fro through the crowd first without holding anything, then stacking drinks, and adding other oddities to increase the pressure. None noticed, and if they did they didn't care, and if they did they wouldn't remember. That's one reason Talia liked parties. If you weren't a complete asshole, no one remembered your name.

"Alright Kring. I don't have anything at moment, but keep you in mind if I might have any work." the Cartel Vigo-Slicer then nodded his head towards the pirate and then a rather large Wookie came in at the VIP Area. Spectre then saw the wookie (@Clayton) come into view and was growling. The wookie seemed pretty excited and delighted to be at the place going by his facial expressions, not seeming to be wanting to come rip his arms off or anything! That's good .The wookie growled and Lawson has a pretty rudimentary understanding of Shyriiwook, but enough to know what the wookie is saying. So the wookie saw him at the Trial of 'That Shit'? Well, now what Lawson has that brought into his mind he does remember seeing a wookie in the audience, and this must be the same one. When the wookie held out his fist for a fist bump, Jack Lawson used his free hand to fist bump it. 'That's what you are supposed to do right?' he silently wondered. "Yeah, that's me" he then chuckled after he answered The Wook. "And thank you. Seems like you are having quite a bit of fun." he nodded his head and took a sip of his drink. Hearing a wookie say his party 'is sick' must be very high praise, or so he reasoned anyway. The Corellian brandy along with the excitement from his promotion seems to be having the effect of loosening up Lawson from his normal anti-social and standoffish personality. Lawson noticed that the pirate and Ark as well had left his sight, presumably enjoy themselves elsewhere, so it's just him and the wookie. "So, what's your name big guy?" he asked the tall wookie as he put on a smile, wanting to get to know him better. He seems cool. Spectre would take a sip of his drink.

Kring stood at the edge of the balcony holding a refilled mug of rum. He wasn’t looking at anything particular, just enjoying the view of the party. His eyes landed on a particularly well dressed patron and the large white leather purse she was carrying. Thoughts on how to allieve her of the possible valuable possessions inside filled his mind... but he quickly pushed them aside knowing full well that had any wrong doings whatsoever happened in the party, the first one the security guards would say is the culprit, would be the pirate.
He took another drink and scratched his bald head with his free hand as he dismissed the idea of the robbery.
He then watched the dancers on the stage as well as the band, then glanced back at the wookie and the Vigo chatting. He was sure business would happen later when most of the regular guests had gone home... Kring could wait.

Their fists collided and The Wook could tell that Lawson wasn't used to fist-bumping wookiees. Not many people were, his species was not nearly as common as these humans and even others such as the rodians or twi'lek. It was a shame, because he'd honestly only seen two others of his kind in the Cartel. One was a guard, and another was a bounty hunter. There weren't even wookiee dancers. He kinda missed seeing some hot wookiee babes, if he was being honest. Back on Kashyyyk, the forests were just thick with them. It wasn't that he didn't appreciate the dancers and strippers that Hutt space just teemed with, but they could use a little more hair.

He vaguely recalled the Judge in the case making it pretty clear that he intended to woo Lawson. That was between those two though. One simply did not ask a Vigo how his night had gone. Well, not until you were also a Vigo. The Wook would have to do something about that soon. In his eyes, he'd earned a promotion already. Maybe after the Alderaan job, which he was supposed to ship out on in a few days. Honestly they should have promoted him after he'd taken out two Exiles. Oh well. Everyone had to play the game, that's how the Cartel worked.

Lawson asked what his name was, and The Wook took this as an invitation to sit down. He slid out a chair, turned it around, and sat with his arms crossed on the top of the backrest. He took a swig of beer. When the glass (with rapidly-fading frost) came away from his face, it left behind an impressive mustache of pale, white foam. "Aguhwwgggghhh uggguh huurh hnnnhrrhhh Gwaakrro, uughguughhhghghghhhgh huurh uugggh raaaaaahhgh uughghhhgh uughguughhhghghghhhgh aarrragghuuhw uughghhhgh uuh wrrhwrwwhw aaahnruh," he growled, quite pleased that this human had actually taken the time to be mildly familiar with his language. Perhaps this human had earned the title of Vigo. More people should learn his language.

He glanced in the direction Kring had gone, and shifted the track of the conversation entirely. "Uughguughhhghghghhhgh uggguh uuh huurh? Raaaaaahhgh wrrhwrwwhw raaaaaahhgh huurh uughghhhgh raaaaaahhgh uughghhhgh. Huuguughghg huurh huuguughghg aguhwwgggghhh aarrragghuuhw, raaaaaahhgh aaaaahnr uughghhhgh awwgggghhh huurh. Uughguughhhghghghhhgh huuguughghg aarrragghuuhw aarrragghuuhw aarrragghuuhw huuguughghg aaaaahnr hnnnhrrhhh raaaaaahhgh wrrhw huuguughghg aaahnruh," he said, offering some entirely unsolicited advice in true Wook fashion. In his eyes it was some of the sagest advice Lawson would ever receive. Some day the human would thank him for this, he was certain of it. To an observer it might strike them as rather odd that The Wook was talking to a Vigo in such a casual manner. But they wouldn't really know The Wook if that's what they thought. He always conducted himself in a very bro-like manner.

This wookie seemed very bro-like and Lawson is in a very good mood, the celebrations and the alcohol and all that fun stuff. Lawson did remember what happened with the "Judge" after the trial of 'That Shit' all too well, but he won't let something as insignificant affect anything that is going on today or any other day as Spectre only looks forward. As the wookie would sit down and get comfortable, Lawson would do the same, getting out a chair with one hand and positioning it in front of the wookie so can have a nice chat. After hearing the wookie's name, Spectre would reply "Ah, The Wook! Nice to meet you." he smiled and nodded his head as he took a sip of his drink. The new Vigo woud hear what the wookie would say next, glancing at the pirate after The Wook did. Lawson then hears the wookie out, it seems that the course of the conversation had taken a sudden turn. "Yeah. That's appears to be an actual pirate. And he already offered me he his services, so I guess that's that." he then chuckled and put on a smirk as he sat back. Lawson didn't mind the casual conversation. This might be the new Vigo's party, but it's still a party. After having another sip of his Corellian brandy, Lawson would then ask the wookie. "So, Wook" (he wasn't sure if he should add 'the' every time or not when addressing him by his nickname) "What kind of work do you do for the Cartel?" He asked curiously. The Vigo hasn't given future Cartel ventures a whole bunch of thought yet, but Spectre knows he will be looking to get fully transitioned into his new position soon and once he does he plans on setting things in motion. Once he does, he might or might not need some muscle and the wookie in front of him is a no-brainer.

What did he do for the Cartels? The Wook grinned, all too eager to talk about what he did and how awesome he was at it. Lawson seemed to be open to casual conversation, and for that The Wook decided the guy was alright in his book. Lawson might be a little soft physically speaking, but that seemed to be about par for the course when it came to slicers. Now a slicer with serious combat skills, that would be something to see...and someone to keep on retainer. The Wook knew a little about slicing, in the way that the average person knew a little about the weak and strong nuclear forces. He knew they existed, and could kinda explain what they were but that was about it. For anything more in depth, he had to rely on others. Or on security spikes. Brute force was a method that The Wook could respect.

"Huurh uugggh aaaaahnr, uughguughhhghghghhhgh uughghhhgh. Awwgggghhh aaahnruh, raaaaaahhgh wrrhw huurh wuuh, huuguughghg raaaaaahhgh, aarrragghuuhw raaaaaahhgh hnnnhrrhhh. Uughghhhgh aarrragghuuhw raaaaaahhgh huurh uughghhhgh huuguughghg raaaaaahhgh aarrragghuuhw uughguughhhghghghhhgh uughguughhhghghghhhgh aaaaahnr huurh uggguh aarrragghuuhw uughguughhhghghghhhgh aguhwwgggghhh uuh huurh aaaaahnr," he said as she sat the empty beer glass on the table with a dull thunk. He had surprised himself with how devious his cons had been. He guessed that constant exposure to criminals in the Cartels over a couple years had taught him how to do a decent con. Not that he would ever give up bounty hunting to run scams. He was just too good at the hunt.

"Uughghhhgh raaaaaahhgh huurh huuguughghg hnnnhrrhhh uughghhhgh uughguughhhghghghhhgh aaahnruh," he said as he took out his e-cig and took a long drag. He then exhaled a thick cloud and continued to talk, his voice came through the cloud thicker than usual. "Uggguh aaaaahnr hnnnhrrhhh aarrragghuuhw, aguhwwgggghhh uuh uughguughhhghghghhhgh huurh uughghhhgh. Aaahnruh aaaaahn, raarrragghuuhw aaaaahnr. Uugggh huuguughghg wrrhwrwwhw raaaaaahhgh uughghhhgh uughguughhhghghghhhgh. Raaaaaahhgh awwgggghhh aarrragghuuhw raaaaaahhgh uughguughhhghghghhhgh huurh wrrhw huurh huuguughghg huuguughghg raaaaaahhgh uughguughhhghghghhhgh," he said before he stuck the e-cig back in his mouth.

The words of the woman (@BlackJack ) seemed like they were meant to be the last line of some cool cut scene or transition. Habibah could appreciate the dramatic approach and watched the woman leave, eyeing her derriere as she went. "Keep it in your pants Chiffon." Riana said giving her friend a knowing look. Chiffon simply shrugged with a feigned expression of innocence. "I don't know what you're talking about."

It was about time the Echani went to see Jack Lawson (@Faster Than Light ). Leaving only a fraction of her drink at the bottom of her glass she moved between the crowds of people that had begun dancing. Halfway over though she noticed a large furry creature that had taken over Spectre's attention. Raina had chosen to stay at the bar for the time being since she was not actually part of the Hutt Cartel not unless they wanted to hire the Harlequins as a whole for a job.

Approaching the human and the wookiee (@Clayton ), Habibah looked between the two trying to discern context for a moment before interjecting. Instead she stood by quietly and listened to the simply put stories exchanged by the two. It would probably be rude for her to interrupt the conversation as is and getting on someone else's nerves would ruin their mellow and in turn eventually come around to ruin her buzz.
