    Ludwick Exyl

Mandalorian Marauder Level 1 Non-Force Sensitive
    Concordia Human Male 26

    • PERSONALITY AND APPEARANCE

Outside of his powerful stature (weighing 95kg), Ludwick is very plain to look at: he has a fleshy peasant’s face (marked by grotesque scars on the right side) and plain brown hair. At first glance, he is often mistaken for a brute or a simpleton, and while Ludwick was not blessed with creativity, wit, or numerical aptitude; his patient, sometimes plodding nature, hides a deeply contemplative mind with which he holds the canons of the Resol’nare, his family life, and his role as the leader of Clan Exyl sacred. When in the safe company of friends and family, Ludwick is comfortable philosophising about the nature of the galaxy and the Mandalorian traditions. He is open with loved ones and very tender, often expressing affection in the form of touching, hugging and even kissing.

Raised as the oldest son of five younger brothers, Ludwick was taught the importance of loving one’s family by his grandfather from an early age, who placed the well-being and care of kin above all other tenants of the Resol’nare. Ludwick mourns the loss the of his clan deeply, and it is with a deeper conviction that he shoulders the role of becoming its new leader; sometimes even weeping at its effect on him; which is not like the fickle, untamed fire of passion in the heart of a youth, burning intensely for a moment and withering; but sits, rather, like the earth’s floor, like bedrock formed in the foundations of his heart a millennia before the occasion.

Ludwick is a model embodiment of Clan Exyl’s traditional, private culture; however as the leader of the clan, he realises the importance of adapting values—notably Clan Exyl’s complacent nature in recent generations. He is inspired to lead a new crusade for the clan, to discover a fervour within Exyl that must surely exist somewhere, one that will lead a lasting charge into the next millennia.

    • HISTORY

Ludwick was raised by his grandfather from a young age following the death of his father, and in turn had a major hand in raising his five younger brothers. His grandfather was the leader of Clan Exyl and dedicatedly preached the value of the Resol’nare in its simplest, uninterpreted state, always arguing that the tenants should be carried out in private, as a pursuit of personal honour over the neo-Mandalorian trend of hunting renown, fame, and glory, which he claimed perverted the Mandalorian tradition.

Ludwick grew up as a slow learner—which many took to mean that he was incapable—however he learned to exercise patience with himself where others would not, and eventually realised that learning slowly did not mean that one learned any less thoroughly; so, regardless of the fact that he was often two or three years behind his peers, Ludwick exercised a measured pursuit of academics and physical training throughout childhood—eventually mastering the same trades and trials as his peers, even valuing his unique experience as a slow learner, feeling that he had spent time with his skills: he befriended his strengths, supported his weaknesses, and found a way to lead his ignorance into new areas of learning.

As Ludwick grew older, he grew much larger, and naturally—as an older brother, as the grandson of the clan’s leader, as the largest kid on the playground—found himself occupying the role of the de facto leader. He was frequently lectured by his grandfather about the responsibility that came in hand with physical strength and desired very much to embody the same example his grandfather had set for him.

For his verd’goten Ludwick was entered into the Nar Shaddaa fighting pits to compete in a regional tournament against other pit dogs, slaves, aliens and murderers. For his weapon Ludwick remained unarmed and instead displayed the exemplary forms of grappling and wrestling that have a heavy tradition in Clan Exyl. Returning to his Clan as a man, he forged his Beskar’gam, and spent the next decade living the traditional form of the Resol’nare, often being dispatched by the Imperial Republica on missions into Imperial Hutta to manage the sector and fighting in the civil wars against the Old Empire.

In 500 ABC Ludwick was present for the slaughter of most of his clan on Toydaria. Ludwick was able to survive during the retreat however he lost his grandfather, four of his brothers, a son, many cousins, and many friends. Although Clan Exyl mourned for many weeks in the aftermath, Ludwick felt the call to assume the leadership of the clan, returning it to Concordia where its origins lie, and resolved to re-establish the clan.

Clan Exyl, complicit in its service to the Sith, wanting only for quiet, personal honour, allowed itself to be led astray. As leader of the clan, Ludwick intends to see it restored to its former, and even greater status among the Mandalorian clans.

    • SKILLS AND EQUIPMENT

Ludwick is trained as a heavy shock trooper, which includes the use of heavy Beskar’gam, large high impact weaponry, and demolitions and artillery where necessary. Tactically, Ludwick prefers to secure a defensible position and attack from there, looking for advantage in the field and pressing forward at every opportunity in order to set a pace against the enemy. Ludwick is at home in trench warfare situations and in the centre of heavy fire zones.

He is a satisfactory pilot who found his aptitude more suited to gunner positions on any vessel. He will assume this role in the event of space combat—he is capable of overseeing a gunport and directing the crew.

In melee combat Ludwick excels in traditional grappling martial arts, using his great strength to impose wrestling, clinching, submissions, take-downs against enemies. He is well-conditioned as a result of his training and capable of wrestling in his armour, although naturally his movement and stamina are impeded.

Neat profile. Tragic background but always open for development. You've set up a solid foundation here. Tech likewise checks out. Only thing I have in mind is perhaps adding in a weight? In case of future PvP situations.

Tagging @Malon for further review and approval.

I agree with @Deviant. Add a weight. You never know when you might be in a PvP situation where it factors into a ruling. Tag me when you're done, as everything else checks out!
