Upscale Pretentious Bar, Kuat City, Kuat
Kira walked behind the men and women who formed the board of directors of Kuat Drive Yards, trying as hard as she could to not roll her eyes at the pretentiousness of the lot.

The rebel, though her affiliations with the Galactic Alliance were still a secret from most of her affiliates within Blackwell Independent Technologies, didn't feel particularly out of place in the fancy clothes she was wearing to play host to the board members, or the sort of place they were visiting. But just because she was familiar with the place and the sort of people who frequented it didn't mean that she liked either.

Before her eyes had been opened to the truth about the state of things in the Galaxy she had never noticed the forced smiles, the hidden disgust, the suppressed anger, and a whole plethora of negative emotions that hid just under the surface and were easily visible to almost anyone on the faces of the various servers and dancers who worked in places like these. It just so happened that none of the patrons who visited such places were ever interested in noticing, and for a long time neither had she. But now that she had she could not unsee it, she would not.

For a brief moment there was a flash of anger on her face, but she quickly recalled why they were here and forced a similarly fake smile onto her lips and gestured for one of the servers to step forward with more drinks for their guests.

    "Gentlemen, ladies, please, drink."

She picked up a drink of her own and glanced over it to catch her companion's eye, shrugging apologetically at him in case he had noticed her momentary lapse. Putting the glass down, she slipped a rather large denomination credit ship into the server's hands as she walked away with the now empty tray. She had nicked it from the pockets of one of their guests, easy enough to do when she had pressed up close to them earlier. It was surprising how little men cared if a beautiful woman showed even the slightest bit of interest in them. Well, by the end of the night she was going to make sure their guests payed a lot more to as many of the unfortunate souls who worked in the establishment. For once they were going to be pay for their slimy and deplorable behavior. In more ways than one.

Finally a job that perfectly blended Gil's skills and interest. Another was supposed to be meeting him and the other board of directors here tonight. There job was to make sure they had a good time, see some of the benefits a relationship with Blackwell would have.

Gil had not come alone, not hardly. When he came in the door, he had two beautiful women on his arm, followed by a small crowd of others, both men and women behind them. There was no point in employing dancers if they couldn't be used to sway favor in business deals from time to time. He had plenty of the girls jump at the opportunity to travel to Kuat for tonight and they had all been paid rather well, with Tasha's card of course.

Gil and his crew made there way over to the group of directors. He looked up to see his partner for the evening, a woman with a look of frustration or anger on her face. He winked at her before moving on. Gil was much skilled at faking a smile than she was apparently, but maybe with a little alcohol, they could all loosen up a bit.

"I hope we all came ready to have a party!" he said as the dancers he brought spread out and started mingling. They were experts at getting people to have a good time. Gil himself walked to a woman who was probably in her late 40s. "Oh." he said stopping and smiling at her "They didn't say anything about there being such stunningly beautiful women on the board." he said reaching out a hand when she laughed and offered hers. He leaned down and gently kissed it. "You my dear, need a drink" he said moving to fetch one for her.

Kira continued socializing, following Gillian's lead and noticing one of the men who had so far stayed slightly aloof from the celebrations. They needed to acquire incriminating information for this plan to work, pictures, holo-recordings, even drunken confessions of past wrongdoings, anything that they could use to manipulate these people when they needed to. But they weren't going to get any of that if these fools didn't participate. They had to get them drunk for anything else to work.

Walking over to him, she slipped onto the overly comfortable seat and sliding up next to him. Along the way she had picked up a glass and held the sickeningly expensive out to him. "Why so serious?" She spoke up with a smile and pressed the glass into his hands. "You know, seeing you like this makes me wonder if there's something wrong with our hospitality. Is that so?"

He stared slightly uncomfortably at her, begrudgingly taking the glass from her, but not taking a sip from it. "No, it's perfect. Thank you for organizing this." He tried to get up and walk away, but she pressed a hand onto his shoulder and pressed him back down, pressing up against him as she put on a concerned look on her face. "I was told to make sure everyone was happy, to give everyone a good time. But you don't look like you're having a good time, my bosses won't be happy be hear that. You don't want to get me into trouble, do you?"

Even more uncomfortable now, the man gulped before shaking his head. "No, not at all. I would never." She jumped onto that, at once putting one a wide smile on her face, showing relief that wasn't even fake. He was doign exactly what she wanted him to after all. "I knew it, you're a good guy, aren't you. We should drink to that."

With that she twirled her arm through his and raised her glass to her lips, leaving him no option but to follow suit and do the same. But while he might have wanted to have one drink and slip away, she was not going to give him that opportunity. Gesturing to one of the servers behind his back, she had their glasses replaced with full ones. She sat next to him, a satisfied smile on her lips as she slowly sipped on her drink while he had another glass pressed into his hands.

He drank with the woman, laughing at her rather terrible jokes. It was all apart of the dance they were dancing with the board. As she started to drink more and more, she started to say things that maybe she wouldn't have before, things Blackwell could use. All apart of the dance.

One of the girls Gil had brought tugged on both of them playfully. "We need to do shots!" she said pulling them towards a table where a large number of shots were already being brought out. Gil pointed towards Kira and the man she sat with "No one gets to sit out from this one!" he said, motioning them over.

The shots were passed out, and then consumed, and then more shots were passed out and consumed. Gil reached inside his jacket and pulled out a vile with fine white powder in it. He shook it slightly "If we are going to party, we might as well party." he said as he poured some into a line on the table. He didn't partake, though there was a part of him that wanted to. He needed to be somewhat sober so he could steer the direction of the night.

'Skuld' and 'party' typically didn't mesh too well. That wasn't to say she wasn't social... she just didn't do well without some sort of drinking. There was a reason she chose to be an engineer versus being Jarl of her clan; she felt she would not make the finest leader in anything.

That being said... she could put on an act finer than most when need be.

As shots were poured, she took in one, then two. She had a liver stronger than most, but any drugs were out of her depth. She did not like clouding her mind too much. But tongues would be looser, easier to spill secrets and more eager to impress. The members of Kuat were beginning to thaw out. More and more seemed eager to press into this party.

From the advantage of anonymity, she made some recordings when people weren't looking, slamming back their drinks or focusing on the beautiful distractions all around them. One man in particular seemed delighted that Gil had presented the vial. When he did return to her, she somehow managed a fake smirk when he did step back up to her.

She pressed up close, and he seemed to whisper something quietly. She smiled and managed to laugh somehow, pressing another drink into his hand as she snagged her own, his arm around her waist. Considering the height difference, it was not easy, but somehow he managed.

If it was going to be a long night, it was going to be a long night with some valuable intel, and perhaps she could even enjoy herself. Truth be told, she had never seen so many beautiful women in one place in one night... for now she could sit back and enjoy the view.

    And reap the benefits later.

He got the party going, that's all it needed. The drugs, alcohol, and music would take care of the rest. It was their job to show them a good time, many of them would likely not remember much but hopefully, they would remember who helped them cut loose.

Kira had faded off somewhere, she was supposed to be in charge of this thing, but not much more was needed for her. Gil was pretty competent at a lot of things, partying was something he had mastered.

He spotted Skuld in the corner, where you would expect to find her. One of the old board members pressing himself against her. Forever the hero, he moved into to save her. "Hey, I think she was asking about you." he said to the intoxicated man. The old man squinted "W..hoo? he slurred looking out at the crowd. "Her!" he said pointed off at no one in particular. "You better go talk to her!" he said giving the man a gentle push in the right direction. The man wandered into the crowd drunkenly, pursuing his phantom woman.

Gil sat down on a couch next to where Skuld was standing. "Never took you for much of a spice user?" he said. He pointed to the shots she had been downing, to the small white particles floating in the glass next to it. "You are hitting those pretty hard..." he said. She would likely start feeling the effects now. It would be subtle at first, later...maybe not so much.

"Enjoying yourself?" he asked the woman casually over the music.

    Strange.

Whatever was in these drinks... weirdly, her senses were sharpened. The bass was too loud, laughter almost skittering over her skin. The man seemed intent to try to climb her somehow; what started off as a drunken confession turned into a lewd suggestion involving her and whatever stim was spread all over the table. Although at first she was amused by the man's advances, it rapidly deteriorated into annoyance, then a quiet desire to see just how many bones she could break before--

Suddenly, a familiar voice carefully maneuvered her overeager partner, and she huffed, glaring daggers at the man as he staggered off. She didn't really need saving, perhaps, but the man did if he wanted anything intact for the next few months. Her eyes glanced towards the glass, then flicked towards Gil. A soft groan parted her lips, then a wry chuckle, sliding around to the other side of the couch.

She contemplated the crowd with a faint satisfied smirk, fingers toying with the glass. For now, she was coherent, relatively stable even. But no more drinks here... she had a sneaking suspicion that within the next few hours, she would not be responsible for her actions, and this crowd was bent to make it as wild and well-planned as possible.

She set her third drink down untouched, lacing her fingers together. "Ja... I did not have to press too hard so far. If you hadn't come, I would have broken something important for him." She shook her head, running one hand through her hair absently. "Never tried the stuff... should be fun, right?" she remarked wryly, then gave a snort of derision.

It was getting worse. The pulse of the music felt like it was jumping on her skin like a live wire, she itched to dance, but... dancing for her was a world apart from what dancing typically was for most of the galaxy. The last time she danced with anyone, it had been with a buckethead and she struggled still to find where her favorite top was on their ship.

It was too bad. She really liked that top.

"How about you? Find anything... fun?" She managed out, tilting her head. "Or should I leap into this fray again? I think there is one fem I can work... but I have enough," she patted one pocket.

    So saying she rose.

Kark it. Incrimination was a lot easier than pretending to hang around some lowlife Kuat member and hang on to his drunken words anyhow, and there was no time to waste; some more evidence of disparity couldn't really hurt too much, could it?

He laughed at her comment, knowing she was serious when she said she would have broken something. "I suppose its good I stepped in to save him then." he said. "People tend to lose the mood when their fingers are broken." he said.

He laughed knowingly. There was something special about someones first experience with the drug. "You are going to have a blast then." he said with a wicked grin. He had always enjoyed occasionally dabbling with the drug, but the first time, when you didn't know what was coming...that was something. He nudged her slightly "Stay away from any ax throwing though..." he said referencing back to when they had first met.

"I'm just here to make sure the "kids" have a good time." he said with a shrug. Of course, the children he was referring were all twice his age and we beginning to grind with one another in rather unfortunate ways. "I may have done too good of a job..." he admitted.

"Don't let me get in the way!" he said holding his hands up as she stood. He wasn't sure what was going to happen, he was sure it would be great. Too bad she likely wouldn't remember much of it in the morning.

She laughed when he mentioned saving the man; not many would consider that the man would need saving from a woman... but really, had they seen Skuld lately? Would it really be such a shock?

Then again... all of this was a new experience. Good or bad, she was as yet uncertain, but perhaps it would be relatively good...

"Hmmm..." she commented, perking a brow. "If I get arrested for indecent exposure, I blame you," she teased, then shrugged. She could already tell it was going to be a night best left forgotten... and yet, they had all the information they needed. She just needed to distract the crowd while he gathered what they needed. She had some recordings, but he was sober enough to hit pay dirt. She wouldn't be able to function clear-headed much longer; already she could feel things shift, and her eyes drifted halfway closed, as though content to drift through the crowd.

The music was no longer as much of an irritant as it had been before; maybe she really could get used to this. Arms around her waist, hips, hands... for a moment she was lost in the crowd.

Just another face in the background to help take Kuat into their own. All for one and one for all, after all.

"Bah." he sounded as he waved off the comment. I won't consider the night a success unless you end up in jail." he said with a wink.

Don't worry! Coming with bail credits is all part of the deal. You're with a professional tonight. Now go get em' you crazy kid." he said as he leaned forward and gave her another shrug.

The party drove itself now. Gil was merely a baby sitter at this point, just making sure someone on the board didn't do anything dumb like jump off a balcony or something. Witnessing Skuld descends into a spice-induced state, that was a bonus for sure. He was positive it would lead to eventful times, likely runs only Gil himself would remember, but he would take enough pictures to ensure the memory would live on in Blackwell holiday parties for years.

He leaned back in his seat and pulled a cigarette from a jacket pocket before placing it in his mouth and lighting it. This had been one of the easiest jobs he had been tasked with to date, it was about time the company utilized him to his full potential.

Somehow, she couldn't remember how, when she next came to, she had a woman's purse with a large pile of credits stuffed inside. She was still in the bar... her clothes were still on, apart from some scrap of fabric that was tied around her waist. She was dimly aware that she had danced the night with two women, a Pantoran and a Zeltron... both of them seemed to like her arms, she could recall.

The rest of it was some sort of blur, but there was a note stapled to the fabric of her pants, written in a shaky hand.

Some upstander high-level of Kuat. Right. Some... oh kriff it, she couldn't remember.

Some handsy person that draped over her, probably.

"Nice... singing voice?" she croaked out, wincing at the bright light that was shafting through the windows.

...Did Gil actually leave her here?!

    Well...

Her eyes skated towards the credits, and grimaced at the dry sourness in her mouth. Ugh.

At least she got compensated for something. Whatever it was, it must have involved singing.

Now the only question was, how in the blazes was she going to get back home? And did he get the information she collected, as well as more from him? If he wasn't here, she supposed the answers had to wait.
