    Location: Portharton, Lianna, Outer Rim
    Time: Evening

    Participants: @Darasuum , @Dread
Theme: Devil On My Back <> Stoney

The bar was sparsly populated and even lower in light. Dedric was having some off time on the planet and had picked this establishment because it was less frequented. He had picked to stop in Portharton specifically because it was not the captial of Lianna and in turn less traversed. He had plenty of close proximity with other members of the Ossein flagship and the same could be said when he was on a job.

This evening he sat in a corner booth, facing the rest of the bar. Only the bartender really seemed to be the one moving at this point aside from the occasional raising of a glass by the other patrons. The music was loud enough that one had to be within a few meters of one of the holo-screens to hear what the announcers on the sports broadcast were saying. Maybe it was just the fact that i was turned down. Either way the Ossein Jazaq was not paying much attention to either. Right now he was enjoying the solitude and the decent brand of sour mash whiskey he had in a tumbler glass before him.

So many people chose to dilute their alcohol with ice. But Dedric liked the taste of the drink as it was. The burning sensation and the warming fire that lit within his belly moments later. There were few times that he ever had ice in his drinks and that was when he wanted to actually get drunk and not care about the taste of his beverage beyond it being drinkable. This was not a time to get drunk.

Vex walked into the bar with the hood pulled over her Wraith Armor. Her black cloak covered any detail on the sparse looking armor, showing only a short figure making her way through the establishment. Her green eyes caught her target and within a few seconds she sat in the seat across the table from the man.

For the first few seconds she sat in silence, allowing her presence to sink in. She parted it lips after, speaking loud enough for the man to hear but no one else, "We heard you're looking to work with us." A waitress came to the table, but she waved her hand imprinting the command to leave into the womans brain. The woman turned around and left the two. "If you wish to do so we can provide you many perks, including protection and credits if that is what you seek."

In reality Vex didn't know that much about this man, but she would be working with him closely so she'd get to know him. What she did know is he was part of the Free Trade Guild and would be valuable to her Order.

Well it definitely was theatrical, the approach of the mysterious person in the already dimly lit drinking establishment. It made Dedric a little uneasy but not in a manner that was intimidated. His hand rested on his hip below the table where his blaster pistol resided. It was habit when he felt a possible threat and he was not behind the controls of his starfighter. The Ossein felt much more comfortable behind the controls of his ship. He heard the voice of the person and realized it was a woman.

Her manner of treatment towards the wait staff made him summarize she was force sensitive. She was the second person he had met with such powers. The first had also been female. However he had ended up sleeping with that female. She had also disguised her appearance and come on strong. Though back then he had not been in a relationship. Guess that meant it would not end up like that time then.

"Strange, I got a communicae saying you wanted to work with me." He had not come like some dog looking for an owner to throw a stick for him to fetch. They had contacted him but he was indeed willing to do what work they had if they paid the right amount and in the proper way. "Is that your way of asking what it is that I want?" His eyes narrowed. He did not dislike this mysterious individual but these sort of situations were tricky, they were down right dangerous if one was not careful. But he did not trust this person or this organization she worked for, not yet anyways. This was a deal in the process and having the proper presence and pull mattered or else you would not get out of it what you wanted.

Vex didn't give two craps about who contacted who. They were going to work together in the end, that's all that mattered.

His next question annoyed her to no end. What else would she have meant? Suppressing the urge to sigh and rub her forehead in annoyance, she answered his question, "Yes."

Everyone liked power. Politicians liked having money or having the support of their constituents. For jedi and sith it was straight forward combat prowess and leadership of other forces with combat prowess. Dedric personally enjoyed the fact that he could annoy people, have witty comments that went over other people's head and other skills that he developed to manipulate people to reacting how he wanted using his tongue. However he prefered to not be choked in public by this mysterious woman so he would leave it at the simple smile and continue with his answer. She did not seem to be the type who was very diplomatic. He wondered if she would end up being his handler or whatever they were called.

Taking a deep breath he made a quick mental list of all the things he was going to have as conditions for his work. "First of all, immunity for any crimes I allegedly have or maybe will commit. Can't have me getting locked up, not that I'm going to try and push the envelope. Substantial pay, obviously. In the event that things go south I'll need safe safety for myself and a handful of select individuals, fake identities, relocation, etc. Oh, also medical and dental benefits, insurance coverage, but most importantly dental." While it sounded like a serious request masked with a joke the Ossein was being completely serious.

Vex's nails dug into the counter as the man talked, threatening to leave marks. However his demands were not as bad as she expected them to be. She thought she'd end up straggling the man to an inch of his life for wasting more of her time, but it seemed he picked up on her annoyance and decided to stop fooling around.

When he finished speaking she answered, "You will be granted all of that save total immunity. Your immunity will encompass almost all crimes save for a few which include harming my organizations people or any our operations knowingly. And trust me, we'll know if you know." She paused to wrap the Force around his drink and casually flip it over with a flick of her finger. If he didn't grab the cup in time it'd spill over onto his lap. "If you do cross us the penalty will be death. There will be no negotiations. There will be no going back. We will hunt you till dead."

Vex pulled out a datapad from her pocket, placing it on the table in front of him with some force. So much force that it caused the table to shake. "Here you will find how to send us information and the exact sum of credits you'll be rewarded for aiding us. I'm certain you'll be more than satisfied with the amount." She didn't let go of the datapad till she finished talking. Sitting back into her seat slowly, boring her green eyes into the man to watch him look at the device.

The void held darkness and terrors that one could not imagine. Dedric had become jaded and developed a hardiness of mind that did not easily get phased. Still there were certain organizations he would be a fool to ignore for their capabilities. The woman across from him was from such an organization and he just looked blankely back at her as she provided the obligatory threats and spelled out consequences. It was not that he did not feel intimidated by the thought of death but he was a cool cucumber. The threats upon his life he had heard from many people. All that in mind perhaps he had not met someone of the female's caliber yet in his lifetime.

When she finished speaking he looked down at the datapad after she let go and picked it up with one hand. Momentarily familiarizing himself with it like looking over a key for a new house he then pursed his lips at the sight of the number of digits he saw. It certainly was amicable. Dedric then stowed the device on his person so it would not be seen or something as simple as falling out of a pocket. Turning his gaze back towards the sith he posed a question. "So, you going to be my handler or something? Don't even know your name or alias or whatever." He wondered if she was just a pawn herself but he did not let the theories steep. The Jazaq Neg had read a lot of military espionage stories in his time and perhaps the fantasy of the situation was just letting the fictional possibilities rise to his imagination.

Vex raised her eyebrow at his question. "If you require further instruction someone will instruct you." That's all she needed to say. With it out of the way she stood up, staring at the man for a handful of seconds before turning and leaving.

Well the mysterious woman was hardly any fun. Then again Dedric never took anything too seriously if he could help it. Life was too short. He watched her leave, a slight expression of disappointment on his face. The Ossein would proceed to exit the drinking establishment himself, sighing as he went. Back to the normal grind.
