The people of Deysum III were ready to rebel before the members of the Cartel actually go there, but they had still needed something, a spark, to push them to actually go for it. So when the Cartel members arrived, they would find two dozen lightly armed men and women, angry and ready to shoot something.

Were they in a position to shoot someone important? No.

Were they organised in any way? No.

They had amassed at the edge of the domed capital city, away from the city's main gate and the defences that the rich of the planet had set up in an attempt to fight them off. Indeed, the Cartel's agents would need to fight to the centre of the domed city to capture the capital building. If they couldn't do this, they would find themselves backing a doomed revolution, captured and likely killed.

Such was the way of revolution and combat!

The first line of defence that the Cartel and their motley crew of pistol-armed revolutionaries would have to deal with was actually an assault coming their way. Indeed, they would have a moment to prepare themselves and then a collection of four T100 Enforcer Droids rolling forward to press the attack.

Each of the Cartel's enforcers would have eight of the armour-less, pistol-wielding, revolutionaries each to position and command just before the droids came within firing range.

Another day, another credit for the Hutt Cartel Enforcer slash Bounty Hunter. Still days removed from taking part in in the killing of the Gamorrean Jedi Grug, Barry Weathers once again find himself on another job. Once more related to the Republic-Cartel war. This time the credits trail has led the former Republic Judicial Forces trooper to Deysum III. The premise of this mission is simple: The wealthy live in the domes, while the unfortunate poor people live outside the domes and quite a decent amount rebelling and the Cartel will support the revolutionaries for their own gain. Barry doesn't care much for the political situation there, heck if he was given a job to put down these revolutionaries he might do it if it paid more.

Barry, using his share of the reward money that he earned off the Grug bounty, would have a GRPG Blaster Rifle equipped. It's weird that someone actually named a rifle model after the Gamoorean Jedi, but it's ironic since that's the weapon he got with the reward credits. It's a pretty good weapon at the range though he has to admit. That's why he got it and should prove to be a potent weapon here. Also the Cartel Basadi would have a different set of grenades: Three frags and one smoke. He would bring one extra powerpack for each of his blaster weapons in addition to the spares he would normally carry. (Three powerpacks for all his ranged weapons total) He's locked and loaded for an assault on a fortified position.

The time draws near for the assault on the domed city. Barry has his eight rebel mooks assembled at his flank, awaiting his commands. The are ill-equiped, but they are willing to die for their cause.

Joining Barry for this endeavor is Harlan Banks. The former Judicial trooper has worked with him before. He still remembers that guy literally shooting himself in the foot. Hopefully that won't happen again. The other one, Díleas Nimbus, Barry's never heard of her. She better pull her weight though.

The Enforcer, clad in his shiny blue armor, would have macrobinoculars in his hands, looking towards the city's gates. Barry knows what he is doing, he's scouting out the enemy, looking at their defenses. Basic War 101 there. But across a long stretch of open terrain between the Cartels position and the city, he could spot what looks like to be four T100 Enforcer droids rolling their way. "Alright, we got company boys, four Enforcer sentry droids coming our way. Be ready" he would say into his helmet's comlink (which could also be heard by any one close to him)

Barry knows about those models of droids. They are powerful guard droids. But it seems odd they would be sent out on an attack, especially without backup. They are simple droids although powerful, and are most effective in close range due to their pulse-wave blasters. Meanwhile, Barry and his other Cartel compatriots (if they had the sense to bring appropriate gear for the battlefield) could do damage before they get in range of their pulse-wave weapons. Not to mention their "limited intelligence" would logically limit the maximum targeting range of the Sentry Droids weapons, as they are meant for guard duties.

The Cartel-Enforcer would quickly instruct his share of the revolutionaries to fall back further into the industrial district, to lie in wait around the far-end corner of the nearest building, a wide warehouse about 10 meters from Barry's position. They would be hugging the wall with their pistols ready.

Barry himself would take cover around some of the chest-high crates, still at the edge of the district. He would have his blaster rifle up, aiming in the direction of the rolling droids. His helmet's Scout HUD would be zoomed in as well. His blaster rifle is also aiming at one of the droids as well. As soon as one of those droids come in his weapon's range, he's firing. Unfortunately, the rebel's pistols here won't be able to help at those distances, but at least Barry can do some damage at a distance first.

Kriff, Deysum was depressing. The industrial zone only more so.

Now, Harlan had been in battles before now. Similarly enough assigned by his superiors who likely thought of him as little more than meat for the grinder. And with the Republic waging war against them the grinder was in full swing. Happily, he wasn't the only one along for the ride. Barry was here, and he hadn't exactly made a great first impression with him. Dileas as well, someone new, perhaps he could do better there,

"Alright, Bazza (@Faster Than Light), Dil (@TheBrokenMadMan), few kriffers coming this way, let's try not to die shall we?" he said non-chalantly as Barry looked down his macrobinoculars. It was time to move. In addition to the eight revolutionaries he had with him, Harlan had brought his own boys with him, six mooks with assault rifles who hopefully could add at least a little more firepower to the proceedings. Harlan himself had been practicing his marksmanship and armoured up, with a new set of armour, a multi-purpose blaster rifle, as well as two frag and two smoke grenades clipped onto the back of his gear, as well as a trio of spare clips his blaster. Similarly, he'd eschewed his usual cane for a collapsible vibro-sword instead, ready for anything.

Apparently they were T-100's coming their way, Harlan then took up cover behind the boxes on the opposite side to Barry, steadying his rifle on top, looking down the scope ready to fire at the first ones targeting eye, and with the range on his rifle he'd be ready to shoot before they came in range.

As for his troops, the group of eight again went back to the buildings, supporting his rear in the same way Barry had, ready to fire on the droids once they dropped into range. While his own gang of six went to the side of the building, ready to hit the droids flanks as the neared. They'd have okay range with their rifles, and so could fire once in range, ready to distract the buggers until the rebels and their pistols could join the fray. Once these boys were dealt with it was time to counter attack and storm the city.

    Deysum...

By all accounts, the place was a dilapidated hellhole; deserts, toxic materials, industrial building that probably had a few corners cut. Diléas found a certain charm in the place though, it kinda reminded her of home, despite this place being barely anything like Ord Mantell unless you counted the desert like landscape. The rich idiots didn't know what they were missing out here, but then again, most of them were probably pompous kriffballs that cared more about shopping at the fanciest markets and getting the latest art deco pieces, all to maintain the illusion that they were cultured or sophisticated. They never liked to admit that they were ultimately just riding the coattails of their predecessors, inheriting everything but gaining nothing but an excuse to act better than everyone.

Diléas was going to enjoy showing them just how wrong they were, and maybe dragging a few of them into her world.

She took stock of her gear, her Pistol strapped to her belt holster and her Rifle resting comfortably in her hands. The Armor was a little itchy, but that was hardly an issue worth mentioning, especially considering the protection it afforded. She put one hand to her grenade and power pack pouches, feeling the two frags and the smoke and 3 extra power packs for pistol and rifle in there and patting them with a satisfied smile. She glanced at her collegues for this job, Barry and Harlan, nodding toward them as they assessed things succinctly. They didn't worry her too much, both seemed to know what they were doing, despite the pretty boy images they had plastered on their mugs. She was more worried about herself, she wasn't too big a fighter, she was more of a negotiator by preference. Still, this was where she was ordered to go, and she couldn't exactly refuse.

"Alright folks, follow us," She ordered quickly gesturing toward her little band of misfits. Following the boys to the crates, Diléas took position inbetween them both, crouching down on one knee and resting her Rifle on one of the lower down crates, pressing the butt against her shoulder firmly. Meanwhile, her troops split up and half each bolstered the two other groups on opposite sides, ensuring a steadier and heavier supply of blaster fire while they picked them off at a distance.

The four enforcer droids accelerated, having their targeting adding the dots together and the cartel members being highlighted. They spread out, not clumping together to be an easy cluster of targets. Instead, the droids would split up as they charged the distance between themselves and the cartel members.

One droid charged the line where Barry was taking cover - as the Cartel member was correct in thinking, the Enforcer was looking to cover the distance quickly to make sure it could bring it's pulse wave weaponry onto the Cartel officer. Unfortunately, it wasn't armed with only pulse wave blasters as it's other arm was loaded with blasters with similar range to most rifles (100m) - this meant that while Barry was able to fire upon the droid, it was able to fire on him as well. Taking the first three round burst solidly, the droid tanked the shots as it was designed to do, pushing ever inwards even with it's compromised chest armour and the beginnings of faults within it's power supply - firing clusters of three rounds of blaster bolts itself at the cartel man even as it advanced. As soon as it started getting closer it would begin opening fire with the pulse wave blasters as well to keep Barry pinned down by the blaster fire and to shred his cover with the pulse wave blasts until the droid was in a position to hit the man directly.

Harlan was able to open fire on the droids far sooner than his compatriots - which was why two of the droids were gunning for him. The two of them charged, a good five meters between them to avoid clustering. Both droids took damage from his blaster fire but between the two of them, they were not as damaged as they could be. As soon as they reached 100m away from Harlan's position they would begin opening fire, raining down heavy fire on him from two angles, three round blasts from each of them as they advanced to get within range with their pulse wave blasters.

Diléas had range on the droid that had singled her out as well - but it wasn't by as much, which meant she managed to do about as much damage to the droid as Barry would (her rifle being single shot) before the droid was able to begin showing her the advantage of three round bursts, which would force her to either take damage or stay behind cover as it advanced and prepared to open up with it's pulse wave blasters.

The rebels are still useless at this point, their pistols lacking the precision or power to be effective at this range.

News of the droids engaging reaches Deysum defence command and orders are given as another defence begins to be mounted, the droids being a holding action at this stage.

His first shots would hit home good. Good. But that's not the end of it, Barry isn't going to just stand there and let the droid do whatever it wants. Right after firing his first round of shots, he would start sidestepping to the left (slowly enough not to lose accuracy on his target, but not enough that he's moving too slow) while firing another burst of shots at the same droid as he does so. Doing this would allow the former Judicial Trooper to dodge the blaster bolts fired at him that he could plainly see coming while he himself returns fire. Barry kept his eye on the droid all the while the blaster bolts it fired sailed past him. He had no need to take cover. Blaster bolts don't tend to move fast. This works in Barry's favor over these long distances since that gives him plenty of time to sidestep out of the way of them while also returning fire.

That doesn't work in the droid's favor however. Given that it was moving forward fast, is a big target even at a distance, and has next to no agility (in spite of it's speed), and limited intelligence, it wouldn't be able to dodge Barry's next round of shots. If it could dodge blaster shots it would already have done so with Barry's first salvo. The droid should be destroyed/disabled before it even gets much closer given Barry isn't wasting any time. Should also be inoperable well before it brings it's pulse-wave weaponary to bare on him, preventing it from ringing out any shots from those things.

If the droid isn't rendered useless, Barry would keep sidestepping the same direction to keep out of the way of shots that might still be coming his way outside of cover, while Barry fires another burst from his rifle himself at the sentry droid engaging him

If the droid is destroyed or disabled, the Cartel Enforcer would instead keep in place and would take a quick glance over the battlefield to look for more of those droids. He would be able to see two droids going after Harlem. He would fire another burst from his fancy new blaster rifle at the one that is droid's closest to him [Barry], aiming at torso.

The droids were fast, but if a glance over at Barry showed him anything, these things weren't exactly smart, or capable of that lovely fine motor action one might get from a regular thug. And that was his big chance here.

With two screaming at him across the open terrain, if Harlan was honest with himself he wasn't exactly comfortable about that whole situation. While he managed to get a few good shots off, apparently that only caused him more trouble. And knowing himself, it was probably going to get worse before it got any better.

Ducking back down behind the cover, droids still firing at where he'd had his head at above it before, he threw himself low, and leaned slightly round the right edge of the crate, low to the ground, and fired a trio of blaster shots straight into the droid on his right, one into its front wheel to hopefully cut through it and send the thing spinning into the ground. The other two bang into its centre of mass again, before pulling back behind cover. The droid on his left wouldn't likely have been at an angle to seehis last shots, and hopefully he'd acted quick enough to hit the right one before it could adjust its aim or get close enough.

Simultaneously, while the rebel's pistols wouldn't be in range, his own troops rifles might be,

"Kriffing blow em out boys!" he'd called into the comms to them, hopefully adding their own fire onto the pair of droids from their position off on the flank. That should certainly finish off the one on the right, and hopefully, if Barry got his shots off, the one on the left too.

If Dileas could finish hers off, it was time to get this rebellion on the road and counterattack.

Diléas felt kind of stupid for not firing her own opening salvo at the bots like the boys did, still, every day was a learning day. She knew she didn't have much of an advantage given her own choice of rifle, so she had to be smart about it. She let off two shots aimed at the Droid's wheel before ducking down behind her cover, pausing for one second before pulling a Frag grenade from her pouch. She popped her head around the corner of her crate to get an eye on the enforcer before lobbing it far, hoping it would hit true and finish the job her rifle most likely wouldn't. Even if it didn't, it kept on getting closer and closer to the settlers, and their crossfire would more than likely tear it apart.

The droid making it's way towards Barry was not designed to take as much abuse as his rifle could dish out. It hit like a truck and droids tended to lose when hit by trucks. Or at least this one did.

The droid began to break down almost immediately and it's firing stopped as a small explosion rocked it's frame, sending it tumbling over onto it's side.

Likewise, Harlan managed to destroy one of the droids on his own and his men, combined with Barry managed to destroy the other. This was not before one of Harlan's men managed to take a blaster bolt to the shoulder, sending the man spinning back into the dirt, too injured to immediately keep fighting but not dead yet.

The droid aiming for Diléas continued to lay down fire, even as one of it's tracks was destroyed by her fire. Unfortunately for the hutt member, the droid had three legs and was able to compensate, dragging itself to the side and continuing to fire upon her as she pulled herself out of cover to throw her grenade. She would have to act quickly to not take a hit and, in all liklihood, drop the grenade on herself.

    But this was mostly moot.

The droids had been the distraction and now the true attack wave was coming. The hutt cartel members would have time (one round) to prepare themselves for the approaching wave of Republic troops.

Two ICT Wompas, tearing across the ground towards the enemy. Above them, keeping pace with them easily, four DV-22 assault speeders flew, their gunners in position with repeaters and two of them laden with Republic troopers, five to each of the two troop-carrying ones.

The Republic was not, after all, toothless.

After firing upon the second droid that was attacking Harlem, Barry knew his shots would hit home on the target and the droid would be destroyed all in good time and didn't pause to admire his handy work. He still heard the sounds of blaster fire coming from another direction, and so Barry would look towards it, still with his blaster rifle ready to fire. He can see the last Enforcer Droid, which is limping and missing a leg but still wheeling onwards and still firing? Shrugging, Barry would aim his rifle at the droid's torso and then squeeze off the trigger two times, which would fire six shots total at the droid, which is enough to destroy it and save Nimbus' hide before she can get hurt or drop her own grenade.

If the machine gods are smiling and the droid is (miraculously) not destroyed, Barry would tap the trigger again.

In any event, once the T100s are done fore, Barry would reload his GRPG rifle, it makes no sense to leave a powerpack that is about half-way empty when you can have a fresh one. The former Judicial Forces trooper knew to bring spares to this kind of fight.

Looking towards the domed city, Barry could see 2 ICT Wompa and four DV assault speeders coming at them from across the long stretch. Barry, being a former part of the RJF was well acquainted with those vehicle models. Really, what's the difference though, just because the name is changed back to the GAR doesn't mean they are anything more than just glorified police.

"Fall back, fall back and split up." Barry would then say through his comms as he would order the other Cartel agents. Barry fancied himself to be the one in charge, although he is another basadi. Harlem and Dileas don't have to listen to Barry but they probably should. They have a whole industrial district to maneuver around in. The Cartel people could just fight all of them behind those crates but that would be dumb and liable to get them killed. But playing this smart would be falling back. Not only are tanks not great in urban warfare, but that would also disadvantage the assault speeders as well. The vehicles have limited mobility and/or line of sight in an urban setting, while people on foot are more mobile.

Barry would be following his own advice and Barry's revolutionary posse would be keep up with him as they take a corner after running through two blocks worth ground and then taking a corner behind an abandoned warehouse. (Which nobody would be in since there is a battle going on) Barry would have his men garrison inside the warehouse, taking cover, having pistols at the ready with a full view of surroundings collectively via the windows. Barry himself would be outside, around a corner at the furthermost side of the warehouse. (therefore disappearing out of line of sight of the Republic forces). The Cartel Enforcer's rebel posses would have also entered the building around the corner too, out of sight of the Republic forces as well.

Harlem Banks, although he is strange, seems to know what he is doing and has his own back up in addition to his own rebel squad. Dileas he isn't so sure about but she needs to be able to fend for her self.

If everyone followed Barry's advice, the Cartel officers would be all split up, the Republic forces will have to find them inside the industrial district, and maneuver their vehicles to be able to fight in cramped quarters. Barry is ready to show these GAR how a real soldier fights.

Harlan had to breathe a sigh of relief as he watched the last of the droids be gunned down before him. They hadn't made it in close, but blasters anywhere near him or his body was not a good time. Why he stayed in the Cartel sometimes he had to wonder. And then he would remember: that's right, they own you.

    Bugger. He hated remembering that.

But it seemed most made it out okay, though one of his own had been struck, a fella named Dalt, and dolt was Dalt, probably why it was him who was hit. That said, Dalt was a decent sort, and he wasn't exactly planning to leave him here as he heard Barry cry out to fall back. Clearly there was something on the way, and it wouldn't do them any good to remain in the open like this. \

Clicking at his boys to snatch up the wounded one, they and his band of revolutionaries fell in, and fell back into the industrial zone for a spot of urban warfare. More like a scrap it would be, and more what he was used to.

Falling back as far as Barry, he took his men into the building opposite, garrisoning his revolutionaries inside on the ground floor, arms up and ready to keep the oncoming enemies distracted (and hopefully stay alive a little longer indoors than out). Meanwhile, he and his boys with the rifles went up a few floors, rifles at the ready for the flying enemies, hoping to use their increased range to an advantage, combining it with a better vantage point,

"Baz, Dil, remember how I said let's not die? Let's keep that going shall we" he said into the comms, ready to signal them as enemies came closer, and get himself and his boys to start pelting the things as they came into range, and ready to move, guerrilla style, if their position was found.

Diléas noticed almost too late that the droid was still firing, quickly diving back behind cover with the caveat that her arm hit the crate and the grenade only went a short distance. It seemed that this fight was destined not to go in her favor, ah well, she could at least try to survive at least. She turned and followed the boys toward the buildings, bidding her little cronies to come with her. She really wasn't cut out for this, she couldn't help but start to bemoan things as she went on full speed ahead.
    "This is kark!" She groaned.

The droid that had been gunning for Diléas caused her to fail in her attempt to destroy it with a grenade. Although she managed to somehow stagger backwards in such a way as to avoid all of it's shots. This left the droid open to Barry's shots and the droid was destroyed like the others.

The Republic forces would see the remaining Cartel forces falling further back into the industrial distict and hold position for a moment as their commanders got orders from their officers. They hung back at roughly 400m - outside of range of most rifles. After confirmation was received, the Republic forces would have their plan of action.

The two troop carrying DV-22s would lower themselves down to unload the Republic Marines on ground level. The marines would begin inching their way forwards, sticking to cover wherever possible. While they were advancing cautiously, the two tanks would open fire with their main turrets. As laser cannons, they had an accurate range of 500m and at 400m, they were able to start the process of blasting holes through the warehouse walls.
