    Leria - Mid Day

It was somewhat jarring to leave one place in the dead of night and arrive an hour later in the middle of the day. Such was the joys of space travel. Silas squinted his eyes as they exited the ship. He couldn't help a yawn escape as he stretched. "Are we too young to say we are getting too old for this?" he asked only half joking.

They had reviewed the plans sent to them by Oliva on the short flight here. It wasn't much. They were told the boy was being held in the home of an influential businessman here on Leria. The man's name was Dexter Aldari and he owned a large estate out away from the city.

They had coordinates to get to the estate but that is where the intel ended. He would have armed guards, but Olivia's intel wasn't sure how many and they were most likely expecting Francis to try and pull something.

They made their way out of the town and soon found themselves in a tree line just outside the estate's walls. They had a good vantage to see the home.

This is where the fun began. "So we need to get in and get out, preferably without them even knowing we were here. Have any suggestions, Master Jedi." he asked, smirking as he continued to look out over the property.

Leria, another planet she'd have found beautiful had it not been for the circumstances that had brought them here. It was difficult to admit that she was frustrated with Olivia and the limited information she had provided for such a monumental task. If they were unsuccessful in retrieving her son, it could mean war between the two planets making it unsafe for Silas to move the children and placing the lives of thousands of natives in jeopardy of displacement. It was not fair to have sent them here without time to prepare, but there was a part of her that understood the desperation Olivia felt because, had this been Relin or one of the others, Ralaa would have felt the same.

She followed behind Silas as they approached the edge of the trees, viewing the large estate of a Lerian business man. Dexter Aldari was their target but aside from his name and a picture, they knew nothing about him. Was it possible that he was a reasonable man and may succumb to negotiations of the release of the child or was he more like the thugs they had dealt with on Coruscant, wild and without fear? It would have been much easier to decide their next move had they been provided with more information.

Her attention snapped back to Silas as he broke the silence, eyes narrowed in absolute disbelief. Ralaa had made an effort to count the guards that stood outside of the large estate; there were 17 of them, armed and attentive to their surroundings. How he believed they might sneak around them was a surprise even to her.

"There are seventeen men standing guard outside and little room to sneak past them. It seems Mr. Aldari has prepared an army for our greeting. If you've got a plan, I'm all ears. Even better, I'm in a dress.. I knew this outfit was an awful idea." Ralaa let out a sharp sigh, and knelt to remain hidden in the thick brush that lined the yard, not wanting to draw attention to where they remained hidden. Her mind whirled with ideas, but each seemed reckless or impossible. She wasn't sure how they were going to pull this off, but knew that they had no other choice. Silas had his heart set on Andara and Ralaa was desperate to make it happen.

    "Its a nice dress though."
he said in a low voice as he looked over and smirked at Ralaa. Considering their growing habit of getting called away to sudden adventures, it was probably smart if she kept things on his ship going forward, though he did like her dress.

This definitely would not be easy. Once inside they would still need to find the boy and the estate wasn't exactly small. The seventeen guards would not be an issue if they could just fight them head-on, but Silas wasn't willing to injure or kill these guards who were simply doing their job. They were caught in this just as much as he and Ralaa were. Though he doubted they would hesitate to return the gesture.

They watched for several minutes, Silas trying to get an idea of any patrol patterns that stuck out. There was a pair of guards that patrolled near their tree line every 10 minutes or so. "Next time they come around, be ready." he said to her. The minutes crawled by as Silas tried to play out several scenarios. Between the two of them, they could bash their way in and grab the boy. It wouldn't be the best outcome for Francis, but they would have rescued his son and there wouldn't be much tieing the attack to them but that way made it extremely difficult for them to get back off world.

He glanced over at Ralaa and nodded at the two guards as they made their way back towards them. "I'll get the one on the right." he whispered as he slowly moved back from the edge of the tree line so he would be hidden.

Just as they were passing by, Silas closed his eyes, reaching out the Force and touching the senses of both men. They turned and faced the woods. "Did you hear that?" one of the guards muttered to the other. "Yeah." the other guard responded. With weapons raised they moved towards the tree line.

Silas waited until the guards had entered the woodline, concealed from the other guards. He stepped out from hiding and placed a hand on one of the guard's shoulder. "Sleep." he whispered, using the Force to invade his mind. The guard's eyes immediately rolled back in his head and he collapsed to the ground.

Indeed it was a nice dress, though not appropriate for their current situation. The lack of fabric and exposed flesh left her open and unprotected. Even if they managed to secure a uniform from the approaching guards, there was no doubt it would be too large for Ralaa. It was an honest idea, but she was certain they would notice the sudden appearance of a female guard when there hadn't been one to begin with; they would need another excuse for her to approach the building with Silas.

The two of them fell back further into the tree line as the men approached, remaining out of sight until they had stepped out of view of their comrades. Silas went for the taller of the two, bringing him down quickly with help from the Force. Ralaa on the other hand, struggled momentarily with the second before she was able to subdue him as well. Their bodies laid unconscious beneath them and she folded her arms, looking to Silas for direction.

"Their uniforms are going to be far too large for me so unless you're a tailor we're going to need to find another way for me to enter the building with you. Perhaps you could escort me to a meeting with our gracious host?" She moved to remove a hat from one of the guards who was closest in size to Silas, handing it to him. "We will need to be quick before the others realize two of their comrades are late returning from their rounds. Don't want to cause a panic."

Despite her apprehensions about this plan, she flashed Silas a confident smile and lifted the edge of her dress to ensure the hilt of her saber was strapped tight to her thigh. It was important to keep it out of view, but easily accessible in case their plan backfired. Silas would have to rely on whatever weapon the guard carried on him as his staff would sure to be a dead giveaway.

The thought of Ralaa walking up the front gates of the estate wearing an oversized guards uniform was pretty amusing to Silas and let out a quiet laugh as he took the hat from Ralaa and placed it on his head. As she finished speaking, he was already unbuttoning his shirt, replacing his clothes with that of the guard's uniform.

Within a minute he had equipped everything the guard was carrying. He shifted the ballistic vest, pulling it away from his neck. It was a warm day, but with this gear, it was downright hot. "How do I look?" he said jokingly as he slung the blaster rifle over his shoulders.

"Right this way, Miss." he said gesturing back towards the woods. They would backtrack slightly and approach the front gate from the road. "I will be more than happy to escort you to Mr. Aldari." he said as he started to walk. Once they were far enough from the gate, they exited the tree line and onto the road. Then they made their way back to the front gate.

Two guards stepped out, blocking their way. "Lets stop right there. Who are you?" the guard asked. Silas adopted a bit of an annoyed look. "Everyone has been asking me that today. You think they would send out a memo. I'm Solomon." he said pointing to the last name on his nameplate on his chest. I started a couple days ago." he replied

The guard looked annoyed like maybe this kind of mix up had happened in the past before. "Its too hard to keep track of all you rookies coming on." he said looking past Silas and towards "And whos she?" he asked looking down at a list of visitors. "This is Miss Driet. She is here to see Mr. Aldari. I was told specifically by him to pick her up at the spaceport in town."

"Well she isn't on the list..." he said. Silas pointed back down at the datapad. "Check again, I think you probably just missed her." he said reaching out the Force, seeking to persuade the man. It wasn't something he was particularly skilled at and the guard looked up a second later after re-checking the list. "Nope. She isn't here. I am going to have to call this in." he said reaching up for his radio.

They couldn't let him call this in, it would blow their cover and this early in it would be disastrous.

"You may want to check again, sir. Lillian Driet, I am a friend of Mr. Aldair and I don't appreciate having to wait outside in this heat."

Ralaa stepped forward, pointing towards the datapad as she locked eyes with the guard, attempting to manipulate him a second time. Of course, he was resistant and refused to even glance back at the list as he crossed his arms over his chest. "I'm sorry, miss. No one gets in to see Mr. Aldair without a proper invitation. I'm sure, being that you're acquainted, you're familiar with and can appreciate a man who keeps himself protected." His tone was stern and his lips pursed in frustration, prepared to throw their entire plan of action out the window.

"Pardon." She bowed her head to the man and offered him a kind smile. "Please excuse my intrusion. It's hot and I've traveled a long way to see him. Dexter and I grew up together and I have not seen him since we were children. I was hoping to surprise him. I've been told he's under a lot of stress at the moment and I thought some time together may lessen his burdens. Please, I am no threat to him or to Leria. Let us pass."

She tried to make her way around him, but he held out a hand and gripped her shoulder to hold her in place. It was obvious that it would be a lot harder to fool these men than she had thought. "Make a call to Mr. Aldair, see if he is familiar with a Miss Driet and our new friend, Solomon." He older of the guards commanded his comrade who was quick to reach for his com. Ralaa felt her heart race and looked over at Silas, shaking her head. She'd hoped not to resort to violence, but it seemed it was their only option to save their mission.

"Man, you two really are thick." Irritation dripped in her tone as she reached for the man who held her so secure by her shoulder. Her hands wrapped around his wrist and Ralaa turned to face him, raising a knee to his chest in an effort to force him off of her.

The situation quickly devolved as both failed to persuade the guards to let them pass. Silas was already moving to stop the second guard from reaching for the radio when Ralaa began her attack.

The Force surged through him as he ripped the radio from the man's body and flung it away. The second guard took two stunned steps backward, reaching for his weapon. With a flick of his wrist, Silas sent the man flying into the side of the guard house where he hit and slumped into an unconscious pile.

Silas turned to Ralaa, still wrestling with the lead guard. Reeling from being kneed in the chest, he didn't see Silas raise the butt of his blaster rifle and slam it against the side of his head. While not out in the open, Silas moved quickly to drag the bodies into the guard house. Using the guard's own restraints, he bound them and made sure to take their radios before also gagging them. If wouldn't keep them from being discovered forever, but it should buy them some time.

The clock was ticking down fast for Silas and Ralaa. He stood wiping the sweat from his forehead. "We would make terrible spies." he mumbled to himself before closing the door to the guard house. Finding Ralaa still looking out to make sure no one approached he placed a hand on her back "Alright, they aren't going anywhere for a bit. Lets go." he said walking through the gate.

As the crossed the courtyard, Silas expected the alarm to be raised any second, but it never came. It felt like an eternity had passed when they finally began to climb the stairs and made their way towards the door.

As they approached the door, it opened. Silas fought the urge to reach for his weapon but stopped as he saw the elderly woman step out to greet them. She look past the guard and locked eyes with Ralaa. She smiled, but it was apparent she was annoyed at the intrusion. "And who are you?" she asked, accusing tone dripping from her words.

It was true, the pair of them made an absolute mess of almost any situation. Of course, Ralaa had been the one to start the mess with Mako, but reflecting on that now it seemed her and Silas were both as equally unprepared as the other. Her experiences as a Jedi had often been more direct and required much less thought leaving her at a disadvantage now. "We should probably just agree that this isn't our calling."

Ralaa chuckled, walking behind him as they approached the estate. She had half expected that they would be stopped again, but the remaining guards outside seemed to take little interest in their presence. It was likely because they believed she had been granted entrance by their friends at the gate, but that was hardly the case. Her heart pounded in her chest, awaiting an alarm to sound, but it never came..

The pair was greeted at the door by a woman who reminded her an awful lot of Nan the first time she had been introduced. Her tone was harsh and she seemed less than impressed to be bothered with company. That didn't matter, Ralaa extended her hand with a pleasant smile to introduce herself and her eyes met with the womans.

Drawing on the Force, the woman collapsed quietly into her arms as they made contact. "Close the door." She whispered to Silas, finding a coat closet near the door where she sat the woman gently upon the floor. It would keep her out of sight and ensure that they wouldn't need to meet with Mr. Aldair sooner than they anticipated. Perhaps they may even be able to rescue Francis' child without having to meet him at all.

He wasn't sure what Ralaa was going to say the woman as she quickly approached them. He found himself stunned as the elderly woman collapsed, Ralaa catching her and began to drag her inside. "I..." he stammered "..." he continued before Ralaa spoke, pulling him back into action. He quickly followed her inside, glancing to around to make sure no had seen what had happened.

Once inside they found themselves in an ornate foyer. Ralaa was already stuffing her prey into a coat closet and shutting the door. "I would pay serious credits to see the look on Wyck's face if he saw that." he said chuckling. She hadn't harmed the woman, but it still somehow felt different in his mind even if he knew differently. "Let's get on with it." he said scanning the hallways making sure no one was approaching before turning back to Ralaa "Unless you want to slay someone else's Grandma." he said with a grin on his face.

    ******
The guard awoke in the woods, he spotted his partner laying in his undergarments a few feet away still unconscious. How did they end up here? He couldn't remember. Everything just went black. His head pounded. "Solomon...wake up." he said tapping the sleeping man with his foot.

He struggled against his restraints, periodically going back to trying to wake his sleeping partner.

It took a while, but he finally found the right angle on a rock, cutting the zip tie restraints he had been bound with. As time passed his memories started to come back and he remembered the face of the man he saw before he blacked out He searched, finding his radio. "H...Help...we were attacked. A man attacked us, I think he took Solomons uniform."

    ******

Silas' face whitened as the radio traffic went out. He knew they would eventually escape but that was way too fast. Alarms started blaring and there was a clatter of activity on the radio. They were out of time and they hadn't even started looking for the boy.

"You! Stop there!" a guard yelled at the pair from down a long hallway on the first floor. "Guess we are going upstairs." he said pulling Ralaa as they bounded up the stairs.

Once upstairs Silas began peering in doors as they quickly made their way down a long hallway. Occasionally looking back to see if they had been caught up to yet. With the Force, Ralaa and Silas were going to be quicker than any of the guards but eventually, they would get cornered.

"You search that side, I'll search this side"

She paused, pulling a hand through her hair as she closed the door of the closet. "You don't know that she was someones grandmother. I'm sure she would be absolutely offended." Ralaa shook her head and let out a soft chuckle. "In any case, Wyck isn't the one breaking into a nobles on Leria. He has no room to judge my actions. Besides, no one was hurt." Her face lit up with a brilliant smile, relieved to enjoy a moment of silence.

It didn't last long before the radio on Silas' hip errupted into a panic of voices. It seemed the guards they had left in the woods had woken up far sooner than either of them had anticipated. The alarms throughout the building blared and her expression froze as she looked over to Silas. Adrenaline coursed through her veins and for a moment she felt sick. Hope of leaving without being noticed was gone and she suddenly found herself reminded of just how many guards stood watch outside.

"Times up it seems." Ralaa sighed, rushing up the steps behind Silas, her hand curled tight around his own. She could hear the guards as they marched in one by one, dividing to search the house. There must have been ten or eleven of them searching. It was only a matter of time before they were caught.

"Upstairs! Send word to the men outside to secure the parameter. Don't let them escape!" One of the guards growled as a handful of men followed him upstairs after her and Silas. Ralaa pulled him towards one of the far bedrooms, realizing that there really was not anywhere for them to go.

He hurriedly checked the doors as the moved passed, each empty. They neared the end of the hallway and with each empty room, Silas lost a bit of hope that they could get out of here without killing. Ralaa pulled him along towards the last door.

Sounds of boots across title floors echoed through the hallway as the guards made it up the stairs. He reached for the door handle and pulled down, but it was locked. He looked back and could see the guards coming down the hallway. They all had blaster rifles pointed at them. This was about the get messy fast.

Using the Force he crushed the locking mechanism of the door and it popped open. He peered in the room, not seeing anyone at the first but then seeing one of the curtains shift as someone moved behind it. "I need you to hold off those guards for a few seconds." he said to Ralaa. He would do it himself, but she had the lightsaber and even in a dress she was more than enough to handle these guards. "We want them to live through this." he reminded the Jedi Master as he ducked in the room just as blaster fire erupted from down the hallway.

"Marcus?" he called out, using the Force to instill a sense of peace in his voice. The curtains shuffled a little bit. "We are friends of your mom and dad. They sent us to bring you back to them." he continued speaking. Sounds of combat filled the hallway outside. "We need to go now though. It will be alright." he said as he slowly peeled the curtains back revealing to the boy the had come for.

Silas knelt down and reached out a hand. "Come on. Let's go back home." he said softly, almost drowned out from the blaster fire outside. The boy trembled in fear of what was happening but he slowly reached out and took Silas' hand. "Great, you're doing great." he said reaching down and picking the boy up.

Looking for a way out, he spotted the locked do and saw the balcony beyond. "Ralaa!" he called out "We are going out this way" he spoke loud enough, hoping she would hear him before he kicked the door out and stepped out onto the balcony. He eyed the ledge above him. If they could get onto the roof, they could get themselves out of the corner.

He looked back but hadn't seen Ralaa come into the room yet. He shifted Marcus, making it so the boy was on his back, arms around his neck. "Alright, I want you to close your eyes and hold on tight." he said, voice still calm. He felt the grip tighten and the boy's neck burrowing into his back.

Hoping Ralaa was right behind him, he climbed up on the rail and jumped, grabbing ahold of the ledge above and began pulling himself up onto the roof.

Panic errupted throughout the entire Estate, the hurried footsteps of guards as they rushed up the steps after them, matching the pace of her racing heart. Ralaa could feel her hand tighten around Silas' as he came to a dead stop in front of the final door. It was locked and she knew that if the child was not inside, their chances of finding him would be lost to one foolish mistake. If they had not been rushed to Leria, their chances of success might have been higher but Olivia hadn't given them much time to prepare. Of course, Ralaa knew that the blame could not fall entirely upon the noble woman.

Ralaa stepped in front of Silas as a small army of guards rounded the corner, crowding the narrow hall. Their blasters, trained on her, released a hail of bullets as they tried to stop them from gaining access into the room. The sharp sting of a fired round grazed the exposed skin of her thigh and she tensed, reaching for the hilt hidden behind her dress. The pale yellow blade illuminated the darkened hall as Ralaa worked to buy Silas time to break the lock. In fact, she was so preoccupied with the assault that she hadn't realized he had already broken the lock.

"I swear.. if you ruin my dress.." Another blaster bolt nicked the edge of her dress and almost burnt the fabric. None of them seemed to heed her warning though they had no reason to believe it was and empty threat. Ralaa knew that in order to avoid a war between Andara and Leria, it was important to make this job as clean as possible. That meant no casualties, as hard as it was to deflect their attack away from her without risking the fate of the guards.

When Silas called for her, it came as a welcomed relief. She would not risk looking back to find him for fear that she'd be shot a second time, but instead bowed her head to the guards with a smile and ducked into the open door. Ralaa slammed it behind her and, to compensate for the broken lock, used the Force to hold it closed as she looked over to Silas who stood on the balcony. "There's quite a few of them in the hall. I can hold the door if you want to jump. I'll be behind you once you are safe."

She flashed him a wary smile and nodded her head to the boy who held so tightly to his shoulders. He did not look up but buried his hands in the fabric of Solomons uniform, holding on for dear life. Soon, she hoped, he would be safe with his family on Andara and she could take a much-needed vacation for adventures.

Outside the guards worked the force the door open, secured under the weight of the Force. It rattled on its old hinges and Ralaa knew they only had a few minutes before they would be able to make it inside. She took a deep breath, watching for Silas and the child to jump. Once they were safe, she would plan her own escape. [/cbox]

Ralaa entered the room, slamming the door behind her. "We never do things the easy way, don't we." he said shooting her a smile.

He looked at Ralaa once last time as she struggled to keep the door closed. A loud crack in the door formed just as Silas climbed up on the roof above the balcony. Trusting Ralaa would follow behind, Silas climbed up the top of the roof. Seconds later he heard the muffled sounds of the door breaking and resumed blaster fire.

He grimaced as he spared a look back and didn't see Ralaa yet. He had to turn away, it was too hard to keep his balance with the boy on his back. With each blaster shot, the boy held on tighter and tighter, nails biting into Silas' neck.

He began scanning the ground below, certain he would find a speeder of some kind on the grounds but he found nothing. He continued to search in vain for several more seconds. They had their own transportation about half a mile back behind the treeline they had initially approached the estate from. They would have to make their way there. They would be relatively safe once they were back in the cover of the trees, but there was a courtyard that now seemed three times as long as when they walked about to the estate between them and safety.

He reached the edge of the roof, attempting to look back again but being interrupted by blaster fire from down below. It struck the tile around him, the boy whimpered as Silas held up a hand to shield his face from small bits of tile thrown up by the bolts. He stumbled slightly as the tile began to give way underneath his feet but he maintained his balance, spotting a handrail down below.

"Hold on tight." he reminded the boy as he jumped in the air, blaster bolts hitting the area he had just occupied. He called on the Force to give precision to his actions, turning in the air he caught the rail just long enough to slow his fall before dropping the rest of the way to the ground.

They were now on the other side of the building from the majority of the guards but there was still more than a few that would have an opportunity to shoot at them as they crossed the open courtyard.

The door broke free of its hinges, the wood splintering as it fell under the weight of the men outside. Ralaa didn't even have time to look behind her to ensure that Silas and the boy were out of view, before a hail of fire erupted into the room. The porcelain tile that lined the edge of the balcony exploded behind her as one of the shots slipped past the tip of her blade. Dust and debris clouded the air around them, making it almost impossible to see the men in front of her.

"Call for help!" One of the men demanded, shouting over the sound of blasters as he waved his hand to his comrades. "Let them know the man has escaped with the boy. Don't let them leave the premises!" His figure was just visible beyond the cloud of smoke, his weapon still trained on Ralaa as they progressed further into the room.

    ***

Outside on the lawn, the remaining men from downstairs made their way around the back of the building beneath the balcony. Their pursuit would not allow Silas much time to find cover and escape with the boy before being spotted. He'd need to make haste if he wanted to find shelter in the cover of the trees before they rounded the back of the building.

Ralaa used the edge of her blade to send one of the bolts back into the guards radio. The electronics fizzed and hissed, plastic meltings as the communication died out. Cut off from the rest of the group, Ralaa hoped it would provide Silas with some extra time to make his escape. It was imperative that they return the child to his parents on Andara, but it seemed her luck had run out.

Their weapons were aimed at her and there were too many of them for her to fend off. It seemed their attacks came from all different directions and a single blade provided only so much protection. Returning one meant leaving her other side exposed and that proved to be a near fatal error.

Before she had time to react one of the guards fired to her exposed left side, burning through the fabric of her dress and opening a rather painful wound. In fact, it had almost sent her to her knees had it not been for how quick the other guards had been to catch her in her shocked state. Rather unnecessarily he lifted his knee to the fresh wound and brought it up with enough force to open the burnt skin.

Ralaa fought tirelessly against their grasp, bringing her right arm around to strike one of the men in the forehead with the bottom of her hilt. He was quick to release her, but with the door blocked there was only one another route left for escape; the balcony.

He looked up at the roof above, expecting to see Ralaa appear over the top but she didn't. He reached out with the Force, trying to sense her but blaster fire soon erupted new him, striking the wall behind him. He let out an aggravated growl. He called on the Force to give him speed as he set off across the courtyard to the tree line behind. Blaster shots zipped around him, but the guards were quickly outpaced by Silas.

About halfway to the tree line, he stumbled, feeling a searing pain on his side. He had been shot, but he hadn't. He reached a hand down to his side and only felt the security vest he had been wearing. He caught his step a couple of feet later, almost actually catching a shot from the guards chasing him.

Several long seconds later he reached the tree line. He ducked behind a tree, looking back to see the two guards still chasing him. Something had gone wrong with Ralaa, he knew it, he had to go back. He wouldn't leave her. She may yell at him later but he wouldn't do it.

He pried the boy from his back. He tried to grab back on, but Silas set him on the ground. He called on the Force to aid his words in calming the boy. "I need to go back for one more thing." he said lifting a hand "I need you to stay right here, don't make a sound until I return." he said touching the boy's mind. He calmed down, nodding his head.

He burst back out of the woods, catching the two guards by surprise who were still chasing him. They tried to raise their blaster rifles, but with a flick of his hand, they collided into one another with such force they were knocked unconscious. Several guards who had taken up positions along the 2nd floor to secure the building tried firing at Silas, he was moving too fast and the shots all lagged behind.

Reaching the building, he started to make his way around to the other side of the building.

Her dress, once a vibrant white, bled red which dripped from the ends of the fabric. It was painful even to breathe but to surrender was not an option she was willing to accept; she had fought her way out of the pits on Coruscant and she would do the same now. It was going to take a lot more of their men to beat her, even in her current state. She only hoped that Silas would trust her enough not to turn back and come to her aide; for him to be wounded would hurt her a whole lot more than her own wounds.

"I dare say you look a tad frightened, little bird." One of the men teased as he aimed for her head, his face twisted in a grin though it was hard to miss the frustration in his gaze. Ralaa regained her stance as the dust cleared, another bolt tearing into her shoulder. This time, though the pain seared through her muscles, she did not break her concentration on the men in front of her. Ralaa refused to be beaten.

Each step they took towards her, she took a greater step back towards the balcony. It was her only chance of escape, even if the landing would prove to be a bit rough. By now, Silas should have made it to the cover of the trees that lined the premises. There she could meet him and they could make their escape to Andara.

She backed her way onto the ledge of the balcony, glancing down to the yard below. It was a decent drop, one she wasn't sure she would make without injuring herself further, but it was her only option. Her eyes trained back on the guards who closed in on her, their blasters still trained on her but resistant to fire and let her escape. It was clear they did not want to kill her which she could at least play to her advantage.

Ralaa breathed heavily, glancing back to the ground to gauge the best place for her to land. Of course, there was not much more than shrugs and grass, neither of which would lessen her fall. Amidst all the green though, she caught sight of Silas rushing around the back of the building. For a moment hope filled her heart and then she frowned, remembering that he had left with a child and did not seem to have one with him now.

As he neared the balcony, he saw Ralaa back out onto the balcony. He could tell in the way she moved she was in pain. Another shot tore through her shoulder. Silas felt a flash of anger as the guards toyed with her. He bounded over a gated garden before coming to a stop underneath the balcony.

"Jump!" he called out to her. Under normal circumstances, the distance would prove no issue for a Jedi Master, but in her state it was dangerous. Teetering on edge, they locked eyes for a second before Ralaa pushed herself over the edge. Blaster fire erupted from the guards who would have rather killed their prey than let her escape.

As Ralaa tumbled towards the ground, Silas left a hand, catching her with the Force and lowering her gently to the ground. Blood dripped from a wound at her side, but the blaster wound on her shoulder had cauterized from the heat of the bolt. He caught her as she neared the ground, lowering her to the grassy floor.

The balcony above provided momentary cover for the time being. The one guard he peaked over the edge, Silas pulled him off the balcony with the Force, hoping it would deter anyone else from trying. It would buy them a minute or so.

"I leave you alone for a couple minutes and you go and get yourself into trouble without me." he forced a smile as he tore the sleeve from his stolen uniform. He wrapped it around her stomach, applying pressure as best she could, he tied the bandage off. He had plenty of experience bandaging wounds on the battlefield, but he lacked the proper sized bandages and time to do it properly. For now, the bleeding would be slowed, but it still trickled from the wound. "Its not my best work, but it will do for now."

"Can you run?" he asked kneeling down, his eyes meeting hers to make sure she was still alert. If she couldn't run, he would lean over and pick her up and carry her out. They wouldn't be fast, and Silas would need to rely on the Force to protect them instead of giving him speed.

The pressure Silas applied to her wound made her tense, fingers gripping the grass as she took in a deep breath. Her vision blurred and heart pounding in her chest, Ralaa watched as Silas pulled one of the guards from the balcony before her eyes rested on him. It was almost impossible to move, but she knew that she would need to force herself. It put them at a disadvantage to have Silas carry her and the longer they remained outside the risk of being caught became more probable.

"Believe me, this wasn't close to what I had planned." Ralaa chuckled which quickly turned into a pained gasp. The muscles in her were tense, but she still forced herself into a seated position and took Silas' hand as he helped her to her feet. In truth, she wasn't sure how quick she would be able to run but she wasn't going to give up now.

For a moment, her balance was questionable, the loss of blood forcing her to concentrate on remaining conscious. "I can run.. I'm sure." She gave him a rather uncertain look but still nodded her head, taking his hand as they made their escape for the treeline. It seemed a lot farther away than when they had approached and a few bolts flew past them as the guards on the upper balcony took their shots to try and keep them from escaping..

Ralaa tightened her grip on Silas' hand, allowing the Force to flow from her as she attempted to protect them from the stray fire. There wasn't a lot left in her, given she had held the door closed for so long but she wouldn't let them stop them from returning to Andara. She was ready for this adventure to be over.

They started moving, at first they used the estate for cover as they made their back to the part of the treeline Silas had left the boy. Then they started to make their way across the impossibly large open area/

They were moving too slow. Ralaa, while coherent she was obvious gravely injured by the injuries they had received. They seemed to move at a crawl across the courtyard for the last time. Some of the guards Ralaa had fought earlier had also taken up position and the density of fire increased. "We aren't going to make it" Silas thought to himself as they entered the last leg of the crossing.

He sensed the shots heading towards Ralaa's back. She had used up most of her stamina on the previous fight and simply remain conscious. Silas stopped and turned, lifting a hand as a shimmering barrier lifted between them and the blaster fire, blocking the shots aimed at Ralaa. It was hard to concentrate given the amount of the Force he had drawn over the course of the mission. He stood his ground, each additional shot the barrier took taxed his mind more and more but it held until Ralaa had reached the tree line.

He took several steps backward before turning to run the last few yards himself. A blaster bolt grazed his calf causing him to let out a choked cry of pain. Through sheer force of will, he forced himself to remain on his feet make it to the tree line.

The boy ran up to Silas as they entered the tree line and threw his arm around Silas' leg. The sudden jolt of movement sent shrieks of pain through his body as his eyes blurred for a moment. He took in a deep breath. He knew his injuries were relatively minor to Ralaa's. "Come on." he urged. The boy refused to run on his own, still petrified from the afternoon's events.

Silas lifted him back onto his back as they made their way through the woods. He would help Ralaa anyway she needed, periodically stopping to check her bandage. The field medic in him screamed at her running or even moving about at all but they were left with little option.

It was impossible to cover their tracks but they eventually made it to that had carried them out here. He helped Ralaa into the back seat of the speeder and placed the boy in the front seat and they were off. He continued to periodically look back to see if they were being followed and to check on Ralaa who likely wouldn't be able to remain conscious for much longer, even as stubborn she was, she had her limits.

It was not long before they were on the ship and leaving the planet. Silas hurried through the jump preparation and they were away from the planet.

He made his way to the back of the ship to tend to Ralaa.

Every small bump in the path and adjustment made to the direction of the speeder felt like another kick to the fresh wound on her side. Ralaa had to continue to remind herself to maintain pressure and, to keep from passing out, kept her eyes focused on Silas as he rushed them towards the ship. This entire mission, though successful thus far, had been an absolute disaster and it would be a miracle if they could make it off of Leria without any further complications. If she never saw another one of Mr. Aldari's men again, it would be entirely too soon.

The child who sat up front glanced back at her, laid in the back seat, his eyes wide with fear as he saw the color of her dress. It was now soaked in blood and the bandage was doing little to stop the bleeding, though it was better than having nothing at all. "It'll be alright," She assured him, though her tone was shaken. "Keep your eyes forward. Silas will take care of you, I promise." The boy nodded, sinking further into the seat as they neared their ship. The engines were running, prepared for their arrival and boarding ramps lowered so that they could make a quick escape.

Ralaa didn't even bother to try and walk her way to the bridge with Silas where he situated the child, pulling the ship out of Leria's atmosphere. Instead, she made her way to the medical bay, though it seemed much too far of a distance and she had to lean against the wall to keep herself upright. The Jedi Master fought for consciousness, unwilling to succumb to her wounds and force Silas to complete the short trip to Andara without her.

In his absence, she pulled the bandage from her side and tried her best, using the supplies available, to wrap the wound tighter but her fingers trembled. The lights were too bright and the only thing above the ship's engines she could hear, was her heartbeat in her ears as blood rushed to her head. It was becoming increasingly difficult to stand and the droplets of blood on the ground made it even more difficult to keep her balance. The room was spinning, but she kept the pressure on her wounds and lowered herself onto the floor to continue her less than impressive bandaging.

She could feel her breathing becoming shallow and numbness began to set in her hands. The beautiful dress she had worn to meet Francis and his wife was ruined and time just seemed to be slipping away. Ralaa was just barely cohesive as Silas rounded the corner to help her, his figure blurred as she fought to keep her head up.

"I didn't mean to b-be difficult," She stammered, reaching a hand out to him, wanting to feel the warmth of his touch. "Silas.." Her confident demeanor was gone, replaced by nothing more than a frightened woman and, before he could touch her, Ralaa slumped against the wall and passed out. She'd lost her battle for consciousness, the room slipping into darkness.
