Pictured to the left, Boont'ana Palace Boont'ana Palace (sometimes known as 'Nor'baals Palace') is a large compound located in the heart of the settlement of Mos Espa on the isolated desert world of Tatooine. A large cluster of buildings, cast mostly of sandrock and dursateel, the complex was originally a supply station for the infamous Czerka Corporation, before falling into disrepair and disuse. For several centuries it was occupied by Jawa, using it as a place for their town based sales, before falling into the hands of criminals; firstly a small time smuggling group, and then later the Hutt Nor'baal. Over the course of its long lifecycle, the Palace went through several large scale modifications and additions, keeping its rugged and characteristic exterior, yet being outfitted with more useful rooms and technologies as time went on. Composed of a central rotunda and a taller spire adjacent to it, the compound has several smaller outbuildings, and a selection of courtyards to connect them all together. Due to the unbearable tempuratures on Tatooine, much of the complex is underground to better assist with keeping its occupants cool. Its Hutt owner uses these areas to store beasts, prisoners and other illicit goods. Interior & Rooms The Palaces interior, which makes up most of its key features, was a dank and moist affair, with little by way of natural light entering the building. Indeed, much of the palace was lit by infrared lights, through which the Hutts could see with ease, keeping their minions, quite literally, in the dark. At its main entrance, the Palace was accessed by a large blast door, in front of which it was not uncommon to find a small market place or ramshackle tent structure, occupied by those poor souls looking to do business with the Palaces visitors. In a rather stingy display, the Palace did not have formal landing pads, and therefore guests would be required to land in the nearby desert or in the main dock of the town. Once past the main door, a large ramp lead up to the visitors lounge and bar. Never one to pass up the opportunity to make money, the Hutt owner had gambling tables, entertainment stages and slot machines installed in the area - not out of kindness to his guests, who could spend a great while there, but out of sheer avarice to milk credits from a captive audience. On the second floor of this lounge, one could find private gambling rooms, in which more high stakes games could be played. However, off to either side of the main lounge, accessible via this second floor, could be also be found several rooms of aquariams and internal gardens, in which various revolting looking items of living food can be seen growing at all times of the day. Attended to by a very bored looking Rodian, Poorey Neepa, the garden is one of the finest Hutticultural exhibits of its kind in the system Power & Communications Tower and other buildings. Just off to one side of the main building can be seen a large eight story tower, mostly consisting of a spiral staircase from its base to its xenith. The building it topped with a communciations dome, which allows the Palace access to the Hypernet and long-range communications. The compound has within it some seven outbuildings, many of which are used for storage, or as sleeping areas for the numerous scum that come and go into and out of the palace. At least one is used as a guard house, with numeroous underground rooms accomodating for similar use. Intent This is to provide my character, Nor'baal, with a home and base of operations. Furthermore, I plan to expand on the Palace, through doing plots to provide the palace with more useful rooms, NPCs and the like. Like many Hutts, Nor'baal will spend a huge amount of his time (and therefore threads) in the palace, so my intention is to have it slowly expand - with rooms such as kitchens, dungeons, guard houses, treasure rooms and much more being dug into the palace (or converted from old rooms) to provide it with more places for people to RP, tell stories, and generally scheme and plot. In short: the intention of this write up is to provide a framework for a 'dungeon' type place, that can be expanded on through plots, therefore making this Palace a plot device rather than a fancy showboating home that has no real use. Furthermore, for clarity, this Palace shall be secured through a plot submission.
