whats a good age for a jedi padwan?

between 10 and 16 for humans. For other species it may vary based on their life span.

someone *cough* Xenomorph *cough* told me 18 if i want a padwan to become a knight.

I suppose 17-20 would be good going into a knight, but training you probably want what i mentioned earlier.
